If I fish without a steel leader I will always get bit off, I have Pike fished for almost 60 years and have seen a few that would have been World 🌍 records but those are practically impossible to land because they are so strong and so heavy, and yes crazy long! I really wish I didn't have to use steel leaders because I actually don't think many fish will not bite if they see the steel leader! Awesome video guys you caught some beautiful fish, tight lines!
We have alot of good ice in the Brainerd area I've been out everyday since December 8th. Some of our lakes have up to 9 inches. We didn't get as much rain as other area's of the state.

The right fluorocarbon leader can hold up well.
Man I wish Wisconsin would adopt those regs. I love it!
Nice fish, brother!

In general, am I better off hitting one of the big popular lakes like Leach, or should I be just as well getting on a smaller lake with less pressure?
Same but I live in MN and dont keep any unless they’re over 2 ft.
In western ND I don’t keep pike unless I have 1 26”
why didn't you eat those?
