    You can put a peice of sting in the cylinder that stops the valve falling, or put the braker bar on the harmonic balancer bolt, turn just before the top dead centre aligne the braker bar so as you turn just past top dead and lean against something, frame, alt, etc then when you apply air it will turn onto said place stop rotation, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

    Interested in where you heard to change your VCT cam bolts from? Haven't heard of doing that before and doesn't say anything about it in the factory workshop manual, the bolts are also not readily available online so assume they aren't common to replace them. Reused the originals on mine and have been fine so far

    • @BrowneysGarage
      @BrowneysGarage  Год назад +1

      The manual I referred to for torque specs listed them, guy at Ford spare parts that I got them from seemed to think they were as well. I did think it was odd they weren't available online but were plenty on hand at Ford.
      One of those things, I could still be wrong or it could have never presented an issue to reuse even if they are torque to yield but at least I won't be stressing about them now!

    • @scottmccarthy4349
      @scottmccarthy4349 Год назад

      @@BrowneysGarage yeah the torque specs definitely suggest that they are TTY bolts. Only info I could find online for replacements is it seems aftermarket vernier gears use high tensile Hex socket cap bolts, done up to the factory settings.
      Got me worried now as doing HD timing chain soon, might replace them to be safe now as they've already been reused once 😅

    • @BrowneysGarage
      @BrowneysGarage  Год назад +1

      @Scott Mccarthy Part number is in the description if you need it… but at $20 a bolt I probably would have ordered something aftermarket and reusable if I had the time 🤯
