I’m 75 and for me this is the greatest song EVER written. I’ve heard it probably 1000 times, but it never fails to bring a tear to the eye. I first heard it when it was first released in the late 1970’s. I bawled my eyes out as it affected me so much emotionally. It was a good thing I was on my own at the time as it would have been rather embarrassing.
As anyone learning the drums we have probably watched countless drum videos on youtube. Every now and then you come accross someone who can inspire you to keep practicing not only because they are a good musican and play well, but have really connected to the music they are covering just as we all want too. Thanks man
Hi Ewan. Well it probably goes without saying that this is my favourite Pink Floyd song of all time and in your cover you kept such tight control and I have to imagine that it must feel hard to rein it in particularly during the last solo, the outro. My god you held on so well! I caught a fleeing glimpse..... Ewan of your entire mastery of your drum kit and all things Pink Floyd! Loved this totally!!!
Hey Don, sorry for the late reply. By the amount of likes your comment got shows how nice it was! Thank you as always for leaving such encouraging and supportive comments. I think you'll like my Dobbie Hall videos, particularly the last one ;-)
Nice to hear from you ewan, I'll check out those Dobbie Hall videos. I have to imagine they will be exceptional as is your usual standard! I wish you continued success!!
I love how i could see you really anticipating that lovely legend of a solo at the end. I’m a drummer myself too, and whenever I play to this song, I can’t help but just play every note (as much as possible) with my kit, mimicking Gilmour’s guitar
May God bless everyone in the universe with no exceptions!!!!....…..❤...…….I adore you Jesus Christ and thank you for all your blessings!!!..... Amen.... Happy 4th let's celebrate!🎉❤ 🥳
this is amazing, my favorite band is Pink Floyd and comfortably numb is my favorite song, i'm more or less a beginner at drumming and i would love to play this song someday.
Hey guys! Hope you enjoy this drum cover. I recently filmed a few more full covers at The Dobbie Hall which went really well. I also uploaded my very first original demo to my other channel which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/qxP_ubmoFDs/видео.html ...I would really appreciate feedback :-) Thanks!
My father played this when i was a child im now 43 yrs old and my dad passed away last year just a few weeks after my 41st birthday this song is the song i plan on learning to play on the drum set that i am right now purchasing. I hope i can do it justice like you have in this video. I really want to be able to play this song and many others that my father used to lesson to when i was a child. thank you for playing this song Ewan
Since English is not my first language, I really don't know how to express what I felt listen to your cover... It is brilliant, clean, objective (without "firulas", as we say in Portuguese) and wonderful as the original drums! Congratulations from Brazil!
This is the one we've been waiting for! The drums seem very easy on this song, but they are so classy and they must be played at a very consistent tempo.. One wrong move and the whole mood is ruined. You MASTERED this one man. Congrats to you, and I can't wait to see more.. Preferably, Astronomy Domine, but don't feel rushed.
Hi Ewan. Congrats for your excellent playing. Tbh, this is my fav pink Floyd song, and you nailed it. I would like to know if I can get the isolated track of the drums you played. It would be great, thank you.
Damn young blood. I'm an old school drummer and I loved the passion and precision u played with. Your ride and crash were crisp and solid. Way to go man. Keep it up 👍
Niiiice! This ones all about "leaving spaces" and allowing the music to breathe. Such a fun one to play as a drummer, and of course you did a beautiful job with this as always Ewan. EDIT... oooh, that Paiste swiss crash sounds great at the end. Almost like Nick's China! Do my eyes deceive me or is it a bit out of shape?
I have a friend, he have one eye all his life, and he's good drummer! You don't need to see, you must hear - his teacher in special School said. I totally agree! Thank you!
Fantastic, performance Ewan if there was 1 thing i could mark you down for would be that cymbal strike at 5 mins 11 secs, that cymbal do-sent do it for me :( towards the end you hit it and its not too bad :)
Hey Ewan, just wondering how you have those album covers stuck on your wall or what is holding them there. I'm thinking of designing my new Bedroom music style to display my record collection. Thanks and keep going with those covers! They'll take you a long way. Cheers, Tim.
Great cover Ewan, do the acoustic panels make much of a difference to the sound? Thinking about getting some, not really sure whether they are worth it.
Hey Jim, they make a subtle difference, nothing big. We only have them on one wall. They just dampen the sound and take away some of the natural reverb :) I'd say they're definitely worth it considering we only paid abut £40 for all of them.

Finally! This was a pretty faithful cover.

Are you using one of your crashes as a ride in the chorus? That's pretty cool.
This guy kinda looks like Owen Shroyer! Great drumming! :D
Perfect, thanks
