The guidelines are aimed towards the black community who often face bias as natural hairstyles are deemed unprofessional. Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu and Trisha Goddard debate whether or not this kind of discrimination should be legislated.

Regardless of your hair, certain jobs require you to look smart and professional. And the rules should be the same for everyone. Remember in my work, nose piercings were not allowed, but yet some Asian colleagues had nose piercings, and nothing was said, so is that not having different rules, for different groups of people ? 🤔
