a single knot is a rope lowers the strength of the rope by 50%. Learn how to do a 3 string restring, with no knot. preserves the full strength of all 3 strands. also the full name is Chisai Sansetsu Kon.
There are no tutorials for this, I know how to use them, however I am not qualified to instruct others in their use. you'd need to seek out an instructor in traditional Okinawan Karate and Kobudo. Jessie Enkamp made a video about these in his "10 Deadly Okinawan Weapons" video
I understand that you don’t know about the three-section staff, aka triple staff, and called “sansetsukon” in Japanese, so please allow me to enlighten you just a little. Hmmmm...well, I guess I kinda just did😂 But to add a little more, the sections are longer, usually at least 14” each, but I’ve seen some as long as 24” each. If you think about the three-section staff literally *AS* a “staff” rather than nunchucks, the longer length begins to make sense, as the bo “staff” used in martial arts are usually two different “long bo” (typically 5’-6’) and “short bo” (about 3’) lengths. Many advanced students make their own to suit their personal styles as well as their height. I’m thinking if he were a martial artist learning the three-section staff, Warwick Davis would love the one you made in this video😂 Okay, on a more serious note, there are sectional staffs available that can actually twist-lock together to make one long, solid staff, hence the term, “3-section *STAFF*” Thanks for reading all of this.
Thanks, I did some research before making these, and couldn't find anything with these dimensions. I saw plenty on the three-section staff. These, however, were a custom build for a customer and he wanted each section at 6 inches. I ended up making two sets, the set you see me stringing up has a middle section that is a bit shorter, but that's because that's all the wood I had. In messing around with them after the build I found that they fit in my back pocket and can be deployed very quickly. I can see how that would be an advantage over the traditional two-piece nunchaku.
Joe Pierce Maker thanks for taking the time to answer my comment in such detail, I didn’t realize it was a custom order with particular specs, and they really turned out beautifully! I can definitely see how they’d fit into a pocket. Very useful!
there is a video saying that the sansetsukon is a broken bo, while the sansetsuchaku (3 section nunchaku) the one made in this video is a more compact nunchaku.
Joe Pierce Maker nice work. It’s just what I was looking for. I was watching a vid on old Okinawan weapons and they showed exactly what you built. Thanx! (made my first set of chucks in 1974)
Just got my set in the mail. Pure perfection!!!
Glad you like it!
A kobudo weapon called chisai sansetsukon or san setsu chaku . Thank you so much for the tutorial! 😊

I agree, no knots, I do like your threading needle tho. great wood work
How to use this ?
Please provide a tutorial link of this type weapon. Thanks 👍 in advance ❤️
Thanks for your comment. I don't have that information. In fact, I had never seen one of these until I made this one.
This is a traditional Okinawan weapon that is used the same way the standard nunchaku are used.
@@hyperguyver2 any tutorial links please
