I found these to be the best winter tire. Never a problem in snow, always left others behind at a up hill stop light (I have AWD, not 4x4). Had 2 sets of them. However...there is a point around 22,000 miles they start to loose composure. They thump, they bump and get very loud! I only run in winter on well aligned All Wheel Drive vehicle. I rotate front to back each winter (about 5-6k miles). I went to a set of GY's to try them. Not as good in snow but much quieter and really good on ice in comparison.
I think many fail to understand that the biggest difference with 'true' snow tires is not such much the thread design but moreso their softer rubber compound that remains flexible at lower ambient temps which makes a huge impact on traction.
we should get our first snow in va monday, time to see how my new tundra does with the factory tires.. airing down can help alot. my deal wood be more in wet grass or some mud. we really don't get much snow any more.
Grabber atx came with my roush f150. 75k miles and they still have tread but tractions getting bad especially when theyre cold. They felt really solid in the snow, wet tractions not too great but its alright. Overall theyre really good tires.
I live less than an hr from you and I run very similar tires. What helps alot is putting some sand bags in the back of the truck. I run 4 sand bags from home depot but you could probably get away with 3. I belive they are 70 lbs a piece. But believe me they are worth the little extra money.
My experience has been different and I feel those General grabbers are a good winter tire. I'm not sure what "snow tires" you would consider better but I am curious. One area they work quite well in is plowed roads that have glazed over. Is the bed of your truck empty? Maybe some weight would help negate that feeling of being pushed around. I'm enjoying the mix of chainsaw and non chanisaw videos.
Haven't had any General tires yet. I seriously considered them and have heard mostly good about their lineup. Much better than what you had for your area👍🏻
NIce truck! Been considering a frontier king cab but really wish they offered the electronic rear locker in that trim. I think you would have gone a lot further in your field snow test with a locker and some weight in the back.
I had E tires on my f150 as well. The advantage is when you have 7000 lbs of trailer behind you they don't marshmallow out and hold firm over bumps and in curves. Safer for towing but definately sacrafice a little ride quality unloaded though even when aired down. Pick your poison.
Those grabbers will wear out your truck they last so long😂 not the best snow tire ive ever ran but def a step up from what you had, you wont be dissapointed.

I think you made the right choice! I run them on my truck and they're excellent in the snow! You will be happy!
Nokian outpost nat tires best all around tire i have found for snow on road and off road performance hands down the best I have ran yet
They are decent tires. We run the Goodyear Duratrack RT’s and they are phenomenal in the snow.

Got to get the pro4x for that and to get pro4x extended cab you got to go to Canada.
In snow lower the air preasure to 25 psi. You will see big difference in traction
👍👍 load range E tires killed my mileage on old f150. They are durable as hell, but weigh 10-15lbs more than the factory 4 ply- ride rough too!

At least the tires look great! Really dig the camper top on the Frontier! Especially having no side windows...looks slick! What brand is that?
Thanks! ARE is the brand...I think...
Man I made it early!! 👍🏻
I run a/ts year round we don't get enough winter weather to justify snow tires.
They are all good when new, what they do at 50% tread wear is a totally different story.
Those are the best snow tires for the price
