      Some of us are stupid-I have done this many times, and EVERY time I struggle to get the spring wire “clip” back into the handle of the tank so it won’t fall off my Charbroil grill.

    Thanks! While this is fairly simple to do, for a person like me who is just using a gas grill for the first time this helped me make sure (after reading my manual) that I'm doing everything correctly since propane is a dangerous thing.

    Good instructional for the masses. One thing I would add. Once you are finished grilling for the day, close the the tank valve. This keeps the the regulator joint from bleeding off gas. Just a habit I have. My gas grill is several years old, like maybe 8 years old so the different pipe joints could have a slow leak

    THANK YOU. I bought a Nexgrill a few days ago, and all the other videos on RUclips show a bottom plate with a hole and thumbscrew for holding the propane tank in place. Mine (we bought it assembled at Home Despot) did not come with the bottom plate. But it DOES have the two notches, and a bent-clothes-hanger looking thing -- sorry for the highly technical jargon -- that clips to the handle of the Blue Rhino tank. (There is ONE small line-art illustration in the assembly manual that suggests this is how it works).
    After watching your video, I went out, dropped the tank into place, and CLUNK, it just slipped in where it's supposed to b, with the bent-clothes-hanger thing clipped to the handle. A good thing, as my wife came home with two fantastic looking rib-eye steaks and a bottle of wine, so I had the grill heating up when she pulled into the driveway. You have made a brother griller look good in front of the woman of the house, and therefore, sir, I salute you!

      Wow! Thank you for mentioning that!
      I just watched the Weber one that missed your constructive point, too.
      However, the Weber video did mention three good suggestions regarding checking for a warped or broken seal in the BBQ attachment, turn off the BBQ, spray soapy water and look for bubbles. If it bubbles, undo, check again, re-apply soapy water and check for bubbles. If bubbles happen again then change the tank. Also, note smell, if possible, when tank is in the off position.
      Thanks again!

    • @DIYDaddy
      @DIYDaddy  10 лет назад

      OK, I can show that. In a lot of cases though, it just needs a cleaning because grease, soot, and other stuff can get down there and prevent the sparking fro occuring. I'll get to work on that right away! So just to clarify, your grill has the red push button, the ignitor is not part of the gas knob?

    • @DrJonHolt
      @DrJonHolt 10 лет назад

      No it is not part of the gas knob. Mine is not a red button (but same idea). It is black and causes repeated sparks rather than 1 spark for 1 press.
