To be fair, the Arkab Legion seem to be running light/medium units so taking heavy/assault mechs as clans isn't as bad as it could be. Now if both opposing forces were solid heavy/assaults... yeah. Just make sure to keep the distance open and- oh. Oh Could you explain how this card initiative thing works?
We shuffle a deck together consisting of a number of cards of a suit equal to the number of units you have. Draw a card, if it's your suit you have to move. It simplifies large engagements because you no longer have to remember how many units have left to move on a side.
Taking this down as a house rule for my notes, which joins the "Domination" scenario (control positions for points, first to # points wins) under "*things which look like a lot of fun for a random game*" Seriously, Domination worked really well. Also, congratulations on 100. Now you need to get to 100 Battletech Batreps . . .
I was hoping your 100th batrep would be classic Battletech! It's been too long ;_; - awesome battle though, I think the Clans are starting to grow on me....before I thought they were just over-priced.
In point match games, clan assault mechs with 3/4 pilots need a careful hand to struggle competently. Just roll with whatever suites your fancy. Forget about being super competitive and have fun.
Thank you for the tip! Are there any clan mechs you'd personally recommend? As I said, I've been ignoring the clans thus far, so I don't really have any idea what I'd want to run (aside from a Madca-TIMBER WOLF, those things are beautiful looking).
Great batrep but will there be more of them? It's been almost a year, we need MOAR!!! xD And plz tell which size is the hex on your game board? Looking to print some game mats but can't decide which hex size should be. Thx again for all your work and don't forget to make more batreps about Battletech!
My hexes are at 1.5". 1.25 is fine, mapsheet scale is like 1.125. Whats important is you keep the project to the same scale. I like Hotz matz myself. Just be wary of deliver time (2-4 weeks)
If you use called shot optional rule(I think its the one I'm thinking of) use gargoyle prime with a mechwarrior with good gunnery as a dueler. Use cluster rounds with the lb, and get into a duel, call shot aim high, then you use the punch hit location table :p of course you get a to hit penalty though, +2 or +3 cant remember.
I suppose that would work with any mech though. You can make a case that the range on the LBX and the relative cheapness of the mech makes it a great platform for it though.
The "Called Shots" rule is one of my favorites. It adds +3, and it makes Elite pilots more dangerous, especially at close range when the target modifiers get low.
More Battletech!!! Thank you for doing these they are the best battletech batreps out there!
This is an awesome channel, die hard BattleTech fan here :D
I'm so happy to see you hit 100 episodes. You are the inspiration for my own foray into RUclips land.
Yours are pretty good too.
Would be interesting to see a video with your collection of mechs and your lance/star set up. Always enjoy your battletech reports.
God I miss this content.
I guess the Cicada had Adam Steiner in it and the Clan Mech had Nicholai Malthus. 😋
Any chance you will be making a return???
Always. The environment is different these days. I'm just glad that I can casually get BT content.
#100??!! Congrats! Here's to 200!
when do you think you will do the terrain tutorial videos again?
Didn't really knew there was an interest. I'll put it in the schedule.
Awesome, thanks!
I'd be interested in how-to and some tactics for aerospace.
An honorable Classic Battletech game. :) Thank You for sharing.
Congrats on #100 Hope to see more.
I love these batreps, are there any plans to do more BattleTech?
I know it's been 5 years, I'm just a dyed-in-the-wool BattleTech fanboi. :)

Oh, very neat! And congrats on 100 episodes!

That MadCat-D miniature is awesome. What is it originally from? It kind of looks like a MW:O 3d printed model shrunken down.
Got it in one buddy.

Cant go wrong with the Storm Crow. Near max armor, good load outs, fast...

Thx for advice!
Hotz mats look awesome and will fit perfectly.
But you still haven't told us when will you make more batreps on Battletech. xD
What is the pilot/gun of these units?
Great question. 4/5s all around except for Group W. Those smurfs were 3/5s.
