    I have never seen a presenter who talks over the Legendary Chef Daniel Boulud so much, the presenter Ashley James who is Exec Chef at the 4-Season LA seems to suffer from Verbal Diarrhoea. This presenter should watch how the Legendary Anthony Bourdain present Chef Daniel Boulud. The legendary Daniel Boulud is such a great guy that when we dined in his restaurant, he came to say hello after saying hello to the next table. He has such a humble and modest attitude,

    I staged at Daniel summer 1995 Daniel is a true gentleman. my last day he put a small table in the kitchen and cooked lunch for me I think about that day and my time with Daniel often

    I honestly don't know what the fuzz is about here in the comments. I just see two chefs working together, and both know their place. I had fun watching it, even though this kind of michelin star food isn't for me.

    The guy tries to act like he knows what they are doing. He constantly talks over the chef. How arrogant. You could tell that the people did not like him. Tried to act like a know it all instead of embarrassing the experience.

    I'm a poor guy I've never eaten at a 5 star restaurant but from what I can tell from television it seems when the prices go up the portions get smaller I wonder why is that. well then again after thinking about it I guess for them to make money on high quality products they have to serve you less, is this accurate?

      The SC Scenario that is certainly true, but it also has to do with location. Most high end restaurants, at least as I know in America, call downtown in major cities home. And the rent these places have to pay for a storefront business like a restaurant are just brutal, couple that with severely increased employee pay (usually, especially at the top) over an average restaurant. Then the higher product costs as you mentioned. But these places also do capitalize on the fact that no one else is doing what they do, and when you're a somebody trying to impress a somebody, the hope is that its worth the money

      If you are referring to Michelin stars, it only goes up to 3.

      When you look at places with 2-3 Michelin stars and you see these small dishes you have to consider that you likely will be eating at least seven courses, sometimes many more. It's not like a regular place with a menu where you go and order maybe a few appetizers and an entree. You will be plenty full by the end of the dinner at any of these restaurants, worry not. I highly recommend the experience, even if you don't have a ton of money.

      Let me tell you one thing.
      The employee pay - not being a sous-chef, executive chef and so on - is cutted with very young chefs that just want to put in their experience in their resume.
      They are paid the minimum wage, work for 14 hours, live altogether in filled small apartments...
      This is how the foolish 3 Michelin stars world works.

    NOT. I ate at Daniel long ago. It was NOT good. It was ok. Plenty of other restos that are WAY better than Daniel. Daniel is just going because of the name. But NOPE. NOTHING special.

      Marc Marse No not at all, those places are way beyond my budget, but id sure like to try some of these places out. See if the hype is real for myself.

      well i live in Belgium Europe and i visited several places also i have the luck to travel around the world so i visited some global to. If i have be honest many do not come to my expectations and especially the 3 star ones. A few do and especially the Netherlands is a country i advise if you want to do it be be i am afraid that if you do that you will discover the difference. Also my experience is that many with Two and 1 stars can be a pleasant surprise because they do not merchandise their fame but focus to cook for the guest ;-)
