As an anime lover, I can conform that no one judged the clothing I wore or my drawings. They complimented it. Not to mention a lot of people at my school watches anime too.
This story really resonated with me. Imagine being a black kid in the 2000s who was into anime. People say things like “You like that Chinese stuff” or “You tryna be white or Asian”. I also unfortunately had paranoid southern Baptist evangelical Christian parents who found anime weird and banned me from watching it among other things like Harry Potter.

My friend used to get bullied for drawing anime characters but that didn't stop her from sketching and over time her art got so good. Great message Dhar
During my art class at school, I would draw anime during free time. I would show my art teacher to get his opinion and maybe a few tips from him, but he would just say "It's just a cartoon, it's not going to get you anywhere in life". I quit the art class, but I've kept drawing anime and getting a lot better. I'm planning on confronting him and showing him how far I've come. Artists, keep creating and imagining!

Honestly i don't know why some people bully others for drawing anime like seriously what's wrong with that?
During my art class at school, I would draw anime during free time. I would show my art teacher to get his opinion and maybe a few tips from him, but he would just say "It's just a cartoon, it's not going to get you anywhere in life". I quit the art class, but I've kept drawing anime and getting a lot better. I'm planning on confronting him and showing him how far I've come. Artists, keep creating and imagining!
