I suffer with being disorganised and one thing i have learnt to be helpful is to have “home” for everything. I think that is why the bathroom organisation was easy for you, since everything has its exact “home”. It helps me tremendously for when i am lazy or tired and not put things where theyre supposed to be, everytime i put them down, i immediately remind myself, this is not its home, lets put it away to where they belong.😊
I agree with you, but the home should also be quickly accessible. If it is in the back of a cabinet where you have to pull out multiple things to get to it you are just going to say “i’ll do it later” and then you’re never going to do it.
I’m a nonstop cleaner. The biggest thing that will help is the habit of cleaning as go, and also I always do a 10/15 minute tidy before bed. Nothing feels as good as waking up to a tidy house.
some advice here: start with little things, storage organisation, we all need that chair to pile up clean clothes and dirty in the bin, and by that you keep all clean stuff in one place to put in the closet when you can. The living room, never have too many decorations because it then will be things to keep organise and clean, if it is difficult to organise, just be minimal with things up in the table, have one bin to throw all the mess like remote controls, papers and all tht stuff. In the kitchen the best is for always once you grab something, clean after use and put where it should be, in the living room, clean once you get up, or after meal, once a day to grab anything you need to organise. This is so relatable 😄 you should try doing a 15 minute tidy every night. 5 Minutes: collect all trash/dishes. 5 Minutes: take care of clothes that are lying around. Take a large basket or box and clear everything on your flat surfaces that doesn't belong and put it in the basket. When your done you can just carry around your basket and put stuff where it belongs. It's like a game I think I have seen this tip on How to ADHD Loved the video 😘 greetings from Germany
Hi! If you need a little advice, I personally do 2 things: The first is the "Dont put it down, put it away mentality" and second is that i have 1 day a week, typically saturday where I do everything- mealplan, food shopping for the whole week, laundry, running dishwasher, cleaning fridge, maybe change bedding, clean surfaces, bathroom etc. It works great for me, but we are all different! :)
u are right, making organisation easier will make everything easier. as someone who up until maybe two years ago always struggled to keep my space clean, i can definitely confirm. what really helped me is that i started tracing my steps everytime i made a mess. u need to kinda sit down, identify things that give the most trouble and think of the way to do those things with less amount of steps. like for example u see some clothes on the floor, and u sit down and investigate how did that happened step by step, what u needed to do to put them away and on which step did u give up, and then think what can u do to eliminate as much of those steps as u can. instead of using shelves u can buy a bunch of drawers and just throw ur clothes in there when u don't feel like folding them (it may not look pretty in there but it's better than having clothes on the floor all the time. personally i find hanging clothes easier than folding them, that way u can see everything and u never need to iron them, so almost all of my clothes go on a rail). if u struggle to put away garbage, put some nice garbage bins into every room, then at least if u don't feel like getting up from the couch u can just throw it into the bin right there and then. also u kinda need to make peace with sacrificing aesthetic for the sake of ur mental health. like maybe ur drawers won't look very mari kondo if ur just throw stuff in there but it's till better than the floor. or maybe ur place won't look as minimalist(for the lack of better word) if u invest in more storage space but u gotta do whacha gotta do.
I've been very anxious lately, and it's been almost a month since I organized my room... I try to keep it clean because I don't like dirt, but the mess... seems to reflect my mental state a lot. one way I’ve found to not be overwhelmed and become paralyzed is whenever you feel like you need a tidy 2-3 times a week just set a timer for 10 minutes and whatever you do in those 10 minutes thats it! and it’s your choice if you want to keep going or not for however long. Low pressure and low energy friendly. Definitely on par with atomic habits and building systems.
Good to hear you address the whole compostable thing!! It’s actually so bad HOW MANY things are green washed it’s so depressing and makes it so challenging to be sustainable meaning less people do it because it’s so much work to actually figure it out it sucks. Anyway, happy to see you shedding some light on the issue
My sister is like that. She admits it so I encouraged her to do a cleaning everyday and to have a Dry Eraser Board to check off each chore that needs to be done. However, you're not half as bad as the folks that Clean With Barbie and Aukaterina deal with. They are very depressed and lonely and nobody comes to check on them and they are also older folks. They do a miracle with the Apartments and so do you. Also keep in mind that when you don't wash your dishes, bacteria builds up and the like and you can produce ants that have six noses.😊
I feel that, even though it may be a little messy, it cleans up really quickly because your house is so minimalist (which is refreshing imho). I guess that is the real upside of a minimal home. I really need to declutter, thank you for the inspo ❤

Omg not me procrastinating cleaning my apartment by watching this 😅 but something I’ve been TRYING lately is don’t put things down, put them away! And to wash dishes immediately after I eat. I swear it makes such a big difference but I’m always so tired when I come home that it’s hard to keep up. But trying is the key word!!
so just an idea but if you wanna keep all the passes and like keepsakes from trips or concerts or whatever you can either find a box for them or display them. If you wanna display them I was thinking maybe you can hang a huge cork board on the wall besides the sofa, the one leading to your bedroom, above wainscoting). I believe you can buy cork board by the meter and frame it however you like to fit your space, I think you can also paint it if you don't like the natural cork color (i think it'll fit the apartment as is but it's up to you), or maybe no frame at all and just cork board the whole thing above the wainscoting. Hope this helps! Because yeah, having a place for literally every small thing ever is what helps you to keep everything organized, you'll keep adding things to your apartment as you live in it, it's what we all do. You need to live in a space to know what it's lacking
What you said about the compostable bags is true. There is a specific type of composter that heats up all the material CRAZY HOT, which can break down that bio-plastic that is "compostable". You see this in that bag you used, or sometimes in the form of straws or carry out utensils. But they can only be composted at a facility, not your average compost.
You can get like organizer boxes for your knick knacks/ random small items like your festival passes etc.!! I also use recycle some tissue boxes and use those as a storage box
I used to be like you as well. I honestly have my job to thank for my newly found desire to clean and organize my home. My work is just so disorganized and chaotic (it's literally as good as it can get for a chemistry lab in terms of cleanliness and organization) that when I get home I just have this need to have order and cleanliness. I saw a comment about having a "home" for everything and honestly yeah. I have so many organizers and containers that literally everything has a spot in every drawer or shelf.
Two things to reduce a lil clutter (maybe) very easily cause it helped me: 1. a box for sentimental/ memory items. Just chuck em all in there and its fun to look at once in a while 2. one item per day that you get rid of so you have just less stuff that could become clutter. Doesn‘t have to be something big and you dont have to throw it away you could donate it or smth.
About the compastable bags. They are not plastic but can only break down in an industrial compost. (Or at home but it takes a while) Some cities don’t accept them because they don’t have one and just use a ‘regular’ large compost site. It’s still better to send them to compost but they will break down in a landfill. It’ll just take much longer.
i was the same when i was a kid! and my mom used to tell me "you should put everything you use back, the second you're done using it" and of course i didn't listen :D but one day i actually did it, and it worked! i don't remember the last time my room was a mess. if you really want to be better at organizing your living space, maybe you should try this method as well
your video popped up in my recommendations and i'm so glad i watched it, cause this is sooo relatable😭 - like girl, i'm you, you're me, it felt like i was watching myself on youtube😂 tbh i've been suspecting i've adhd for quite some time now and i saw a few comments asking you about it as well.. i guess it's about time to get it checked, if even strangers on the internet can see it lol
I bought the ballad of songbirds and snakes a month ago but haven’t gotten to it, I’m hoping to read it soon I’m excited to watch the movie. Also hope they give out pins at the theaters, I know some theaters did that for the original movies but sadly I missed out on that as the ones I went to didn’t I’ve been wanting audible ngl it just makes it so easy to get books in and try books before I decide to purchase in future I will say the thing with organization is once you find a place for everything, getting organizers for areas you feel can be contained better for you to access and put things back, and having the ability to visually separate categories that way, it makes the world of a difference, and allows you to work in those smaller sections It also takes time to build good habits especially with cleaning, I started with small goals like making my bed every morning and trying to reach that every day, and understand I don’t have to be perfect but if I get this small thing done it helps me feel accomplished that I did something in the day. Then I move on to other stuff, taking my vitamins, cleaning my bedside table of food and drinks from the night before, doing skincare and putting it away as I go, putting clothes from day before in hamper, and just work on one goal at a time and eventually I stack up good habits, and if I ever need I start one task at a time, and focus on starting rather than perfection As a current student that took a long break before studying again, that structure with when you are going to school physically or have that online accountability with attending classes, and then finding yourself forgetting and not being as productive now that you dictate your own schedule and time, is so real, I’ve been reading and watching a lot about habits and study techniques that can be applied too, atomic habits has been on my want to read list for a while I also love those flowers in your dining room, wow ! Your new hair suits you really well too love the color and wispy bangs which Ive been debating getting i feel like it would help me put more time in looking put together and would let me easily look a little more put together
This was such an amazing watch and it really made me see how I handle the overwhelm when things get a bit too hard for me but also the similar ways I deal with that overwhelm 🥹 I also wanted to say that I didn’t think the dining room area was too bad 😂 yeah it’s nice to all the bits and bobs put in their right places, but I very much love a lived in house 💗 reminds me of my childhood home and I loveeee nostalgia (also I don’t think it took away from your gallery wall at all, it looked beautiful)
I think I watch these videos the most because it’s very relatable. The key line was, “now that I have an apartment I have more space than just my room to be messy.”
Hi, just discovered your channel. Good job at motivating yourself! I am not a nonstop cleaner, I honestly never think about it only vacuum when it’s dirty and deeplclean the floors like once a month… I am not proud about that… BUT everything has a specific place where I put it, so my home gives of the illusion of being tidy. I think that would really help you too.
Our city does the same thing, so we've made a system of a place where we keep recyclable and compostable items until we can take it to the correct place ourselves. Though, most of our compostables stay in a fertilizer bin for the garden. That's a country luxury though.
I'm sure this is said somewhere down in the comments, but for people that may be watching and don't have those compost bags: The compost bags are made with biodegradable plastics - as soon as they get wet they start to decompose! We use them in my province and if the compost doesn't go out one week in the summer months the bag is no longer a bag but tiny little paper-like flakes and within a month they're non-existent 😅 (our sink leaked one summer and humidity under the sink led to us throwing out a box of flakes of what was 50 compost bags ahaha)
Ill come stress clean and organize your apartment. Mine is spotless and I am stressed and need something to clean which is why Im watching this video it give the same kind of dopamine stress-relief
Suddenly when you filmed snail viewpoint, I felt small and tiny. in a good way. Lolol Take good care of your personal apartment. For a person who's clean all the time *me*, I won't include any tips but one saying. Being clean and organized means having a fixed mindset. That leads to your personal satisfaction and comfort. Some might say it's a way of releasing stress or a productive habit of being stable and heart at content. Likewise, cleanliness is a build up process to our way of thinking and analyzing things. It is sequential to our devoted lives to be at least proactive and awaken through random periods. In better words, whenever and wherever you clean up like car, at workspace, or at home, your order of cleanliness defines your way of being and understanding how your mind works at ease. Hope this helps you grasp the true definition of organization and tidiness. I'm heading to listen to bubble soon!!! Love your music btw! ❤
I'm on the opposite side of the country in Nova Scotia and we also can't use those compost bags even though they are available to buy everywhere and some places like Giant Tiger only sell them, no paper options! So frustrating!
As a concert photographer, I have a hook on my wall for all my lanyards and I put a lot of my stickers in a memento box or stick them to my full length mirror from Target
she is so me I am a subscriber but I don't consistently watch but after watching this video I think that is about to change cause I really enjoyed this video
I lived like that when I had depression. But right now I'm doing fine so why I do is always put it away and clean right away (or clean it before i sleep). Eventually it will become a habit that you don't realize you started adapting it and it becomes your routine.
There are no people that are "natural" cleaners. Cleaning and organization are skills and habits you make whether you were a child when this happened or an adult; it is a skill you learn, not one you are born with. Cleaning is morally neutral it doesn't make you a bad person to have an untidy home. You are already doing so much by tackling this mess every so often. It definitely helps to make dedicated spaces for everything, but remember you will always iterate and optimize over time. I have definitely progressed in my level of cleaning and organization as I have gotten older. Consider yourself as a video game character, you don't learn all your skills at level 1, you learn them as you level up. Don't beat yourself up for being at the level you are when you know you're making progress to level up every year :)
For purely sentimental items from trips, shows, etc you could buy or even make a little memories box to keep them all in. Or, depending on how big the items are, you could buy a shadow box frame to keep them in. 😄
12:42 Hi if I can give you some advice, you can do to a to do list before starting. Like that you’ll just have a program to follow and you won’t stress about what you’ll have to do each time fou finish something. For me it really helps a lot :)
Unfortunately I am the kind of person with ADHD who is stressed out by clutter, mess and other stuff that fills up my eyeline with visual overstimulation so I do a little bit every day even if it's hard to do so - building little routines so it doesn't turn into an overwhelming mess that I get too tired to tackle. A lot of what has helped me is good organizational stuff that IS visually clear so I have to make sure it "looks good" in order to work and it reminds me I need to do it, but also some tricks like having extra dish bins or trash cans to make throwing away stuff or putting away dishes into the sink.
Also if anyone reading this comment or is really relating to this video - if you have not been tested for ADHD, it might be something to consider, especially if you have a lot of anxiety around cleaning, or want to clean and feel "stuck" or unable to do it. You're not lazy, but you might have a problem that is fixable!
Gurlll love your hole apartmenttt, and actually I’m obsessed with the desk in your room, where is it from? I’m searching for one and I think that’s the ONE
A tip that you can do is clean 1 room everyday or just dedicate the whole weekend to cleaning up everything And wash your pots, pans, cooking spoons while you're cooking (clean as you go) that way when you're done cooking you only have the dishes that you're eating in to wash... also wash them as soon as you're done eating.
the thing with the "compostable" bags is the fact that yes it is compostable, but all mass production composting methods have a pretty fast process which is okay with plants and food but with these bags, there is not taken enough time for them to compost
Girll ur need a rug in ur living room!! TRUST ME!! it will bring the whole room together!!

You need to live in a space to know what it's lacking
currently, its the 12th day being sick , on bed...Thanks Jen , ur videos are relaxing nd brings smile on my face.♥
Honestly miss you so much. Jen. You are literally the most beautiful person I have seen
Two things to reduce a lil clutter (maybe) very easily cause it helped me:
1. a box for sentimental/ memory items. Just chuck em all in there and its fun to look at once in a while
2. one item per day that you get rid of so you have just less stuff that could become clutter.
I absolutely love Jen’s work and her song clean up in aisle 4 I haven’t been able to stop playing it❤❤( also I love ur apartment it’s so Cutee) ❤❤
Girl I LOVEEEEEE the love hypothesis and TBOSAS
definitely get a box to keep all the souvenir items in . and you can even decorate it to make it all cute for yourself 🫶✨
i love cleaning and actually enjoy it--i would literally love to be your friend and come over to your condo and just clean
i was the same when i was a kid! and my mom used to tell me "you should put everything you use back, the second you're done using it" and of course i didn't listen :D but one day i actually did it, and it worked! i don't remember the last time my room was a mess. if you really want to be better at organizing your living space, maybe you should try this method as well
why are you so relatable
I love her and how she edits her videos 🥹🥹🤍
Cleaning is good therapy, cleaning and clearing your head and home.
your video popped up in my recommendations and i'm so glad i watched it, cause this is sooo relatable😭 - like girl, i'm you, you're me, it felt like i was watching myself on youtube😂
tbh i've been suspecting i've adhd for quite some time now and i saw a few comments asking you about it as well.. i guess it's about time to get it checked, if even strangers on the internet can see it lol
literally the best thing i’ve done for my adhd ass is giving up on folding most of my clothes and just getting bins to separate them within my drawers
I bought the ballad of songbirds and snakes a month ago but haven’t gotten to it, I’m hoping to read it soon I’m excited to watch the movie. Also hope they give out pins at the theaters, I know some theaters did that for the original movies but sadly I missed out on that as the ones I went to didn’t
I’ve been wanting audible ngl it just makes it so easy to get books in and try books before I decide to purchase in future
I will say the thing with organization is once you find a place for everything, getting organizers for areas you feel can be contained better for you to access and put things back, and having the ability to visually separate categories that way, it makes the world of a difference, and allows you to work in those smaller sections
It also takes time to build good habits especially with cleaning, I started with small goals like making my bed every morning and trying to reach that every day, and understand I don’t have to be perfect but if I get this small thing done it helps me feel accomplished that I did something in the day.
Then I move on to other stuff, taking my vitamins, cleaning my bedside table of food and drinks from the night before, doing skincare and putting it away as I go, putting clothes from day before in hamper, and just work on one goal at a time and eventually I stack up good habits, and if I ever need I start one task at a time, and focus on starting rather than perfection
As a current student that took a long break before studying again, that structure with when you are going to school physically or have that online accountability with attending classes, and then finding yourself forgetting and not being as productive now that you dictate your own schedule and time, is so real, I’ve been reading and watching a lot about habits and study techniques that can be applied too, atomic habits has been on my want to read list for a while
I also love those flowers in your dining room, wow ! Your new hair suits you really well too love the color and wispy bangs which Ive been debating getting i feel like it would help me put more time in looking put together and would let me easily look a little more put together
finally a realistic cleaning video! thx i dont feel so bad about my mess ✨❤
i never knew how much i needed a vacuum camera angle bro thank u 🙏🏾 👌🏾
OMGGGG not you wearing Amanda’s merch 😭😭😭soooo cute I can’t
Okay the vacuuming scenes were a slay
Hii !
This video is so adhd coded it's amazing
This was such an amazing watch and it really made me see how I handle the overwhelm when things get a bit too hard for me but also the similar ways I deal with that overwhelm 🥹 I also wanted to say that I didn’t think the dining room area was too bad 😂 yeah it’s nice to all the bits and bobs put in their right places, but I very much love a lived in house 💗 reminds me of my childhood home and I loveeee nostalgia (also I don’t think it took away from your gallery wall at all, it looked beautiful)
Your place is soooo gorgeous 🥺❤️ Specially with the golden hour lighting!!!
😊You Just Gave Really Great Advice, To Be ENTERTAINED While Cleaning The Apartment 😃
I think I watch these videos the most because it’s very relatable. The key line was, “now that I have an apartment I have more space than just my room to be messy.”
9:00 her voice is so pretty ❤❤
lol didn't realize she was a singer
the vacuum pov was perfection
Hi, just discovered your channel. Good job at motivating yourself! I am not a nonstop cleaner, I honestly never think about it only vacuum when it’s dirty and deeplclean the floors like once a month… I am not proud about that… BUT everything has a specific place where I put it, so my home gives of the illusion of being tidy. I think that would really help you too.
JEN U NEED A RUG IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!!!! love ur new song btw💜
It was SO satisfying that I may rewatch it xD but omg the anxiety in the "befores"... haha I hate mess
Ill come stress clean and organize your apartment. Mine is spotless and I am stressed and need something to clean which is why Im watching this video it give the same kind of dopamine stress-relief
Suddenly when you filmed snail viewpoint, I felt small and tiny. in a good way. Lolol
Take good care of your personal apartment.
Honestly they make it so difficult!
Just beautiful 😍 Love the way you tackled this! I am a new fan 💖
As a concert photographer, I have a hook on my wall for all my lanyards and I put a lot of my stickers in a memento box or stick them to my full length mirror from Target
Cutest apartment ever!
she is so me I am a subscriber but I don't consistently watch but after watching this video I think that is about to change cause I really enjoyed this video
Yesss, I'm here! Love your videos, Jen! 💕💕
For purely sentimental items from trips, shows, etc you could buy or even make a little memories box to keep them all in. Or, depending on how big the items are, you could buy a shadow box frame to keep them in. 😄
DONT PUT IT DOWN JUST PUT IT AWAY
i saw that in a tiktok and it helps me so much :D
OMG, haven't even started the video but I know it's gonna be good🎉

Hi if I can give you some advice, you can do to a to do list before starting. Like that you’ll just have a program to follow and you won’t stress about what you’ll have to do each time fou finish something. For me it really helps a lot :)
rewatching this for motivation
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who lives like this. Dishes left out in the living room like mines horrible
One good advice I got is “don’t put it down, put it away” and it really helps!
the pots in the living room jesussssss jen
It’s a new low
loved the roach pov
Love this she’s so hilarious 😂😂❤❤
Just stop talking and clean the dang house.😂😂😂 You are killing me. My OCD is on overdrive.😂😂😂❤
Idk if u asked for advice but what helps me is to just tidy whenever i see something that is out of place when i‘m passing by no matter how small
Thanks for talking about the scam of “compostable” plastic!!❤️
Great job loading that dishwasher!
Omggg I had the same fabric glue that had the same ‘tumor’ I think the bottle just isn’t super tight but it’s so funny you had the same thing happen!
You could also try decaf and / or mix with fully caffeinated
A tip that you can do is clean 1 room everyday or just dedicate the whole weekend to cleaning up everything
And wash your pots, pans, cooking spoons while you're cooking (clean as you go) that way when you're done cooking you only have the dishes that you're eating in to wash... also wash them as soon as you're done eating.
the thing with the "compostable" bags is the fact that yes it is compostable, but all mass production composting methods have a pretty fast process which is okay with plants and food but with these bags, there is not taken enough time for them to compost
For your pass and artist things you should do a cute box for memories ! :)
