that is crazy cold sir and i have to say your crazy for going out in it . thanks for the video. I guess if your ready for that kind of cold you can manage.
Had to stop and comment about the phone bag- I made one, too, last December for going snow tracking. Made out of felt, and made the rim out of alum tawed squirrel skin ( I tanned it a while ago). I hang it around my neck to keep the phone warm, and store a stylus for making GPS location and notes on tracks we see on the app we use. Best thing ever! So when you mentioned yours, I had to laugh, because until someone told me to get a neck pouch to keep my phone warm, I had not thought of that! And rather than buy one, I had to make one. Of course. 😂
Now you did it Shug! Haven’t been out since last November. Gotta get some winter hanging in before it’s too late. Thanks for the great video and inspiration Buddy. 👍🏼😎

I was born in northern Minnesota and have lived here the majority of my life with proximately 15 years where I lived throughout the United States in much warmer climates. I was always accused of being Canadian because of my accent but as the years went on, and from living down south and east my accent wasn't as strong. Thank goodness. My kids, who are adults now, enjoy making fun of me for certain words that I say with a mixture of a Southern and Eastern accent. Oddly, I don't know how, but you pick up accents without trying. As I watch you camp and Traverse Minnesota in the winter, which is the majority of the year. I admire you as I don't do well in the low temperatures and even though as a child I spent a lot of time outside during the cold Winters... I know that I could not take it anymore. Anybody who has lived in northern Minnesota or Minnesota at all knows what it's like when you step outside and you take in a deep breath your nostrils stick together. As children, we used to have fun by taking a pan of hot water during the winter and walking outside with it, and tossing it up in the air to watch the hot water vaporize in the air before it even comes close to hitting the ground. Now, that is cold. When it is way below zero and the wind chill is even further below zero, any Exposed Skin that is left out 4 for 20 minutes, it will without a doubt get frostbitten. That's why you see people covering their faces and barely even seeing somebody's eyes. The moisture from your breath on your face mask eventually causes a problem in getting a proper breath of air. I remember ice-fishing even in dark houses but also outside by a hole. It was miserable. I have frostbitten my fingers and toes many times. Layers layers layers but it's hard to have layers on your fingers and toes. I admire you for taking on the cold cold winter of Minnesota.

Thanks Shug, great video with some fine cinematic sequences. I beat you to the 'early' for a change 😅😂😅 Stay safe👍
Great thing about a solo is time to film without holding everyone up. Thankee. My favorite shot was the evening pan across the lake with the snowshoes sticking out of the snow. Had no idea it would look that cool.

Mmmm.... smoked sole of boot. :-)
Thank you for doing the pulk with the traditional shoes. Looking forward to seeing you on the podcast on the 28th.
They worked real good and the bindings are really easy in and out.
