Between this and new bubble body Towncar...Lincoln was smoking Cadillac for few years.....the interior had analog clock, back seat storage had like leather folders, and first truck with adjustable pedals...i wished somebody in family had one...
@2H2521 Well the first gen Navigators did have higher production numbers. But either way the Escalade is still a GMT400 and we all know how reliable those trucks are. Hence the reason why I still see them on the road.
@@illstatenolove I see plenty of GMT400 Silverado, Tahoe & Suburban for sure but just not many Escalade. You see just as many if not more of the F-150, Expedition & Navigators of the time as you do the GM’s, those Ford’s were all built on the 10th gen F-150 platform which was excellent. Both brands still built their trucks very well, their cars (sedan, coupe, etc,) not so much. Chrysler pretty much all together was junk then, if not entirely… It’s even worse now.
This engine was junk and while it had a better suspension, the 1999 caddy Escalade was 100x better than this piece of junk. GMT 400 was an amazing platform. Remember this is just a ford hahahah sorry I laugh every time I say ford hahah
At the time, I thought the 1st gen Navigator and Escalade were a joke. They were dumpy, and an unconvincing way to separate people from their money without offering much more than the Ford and Chevy versions. I thought they'd surely flop. Boy was I wrong. Today, The Navigator and Escalade are the most popular models within each brand. They cost serious money, are luxurious and look amazing.
This was the most beautiful SUV in these day, I really want one of those when I first saw one on the road. There still better looking than the newer ones, the newer ones today are uglier.
John Davis has been narrating MW for over 40 years and he’s the only reason I have continued to watch it.

Lincoln Navigator is beautiful and comfortable SUV
this 1st gen Navigator crushed the Escalade
These Navigators are extinct. While the 1st Gen Escalades are still seen driving around.
@@illstatenoloveOther way around, jr. I never ever see a first gen Escalade around.

They could have at least change the wheel from the Ford. Always taking the cheap way out
