The electric detergents are meant specifically for bigger sharks. The bigger they are the more sensory receptors they have and can feel the pulses more. The little guys would be a lot less sensitive. But this is great, I have now learned to be more terrified of the little guys. At least big ones are super uncommon and easier to spot, plus don’t generally attack unless they’re starving. These little fuckers seem like the honey badger of the ocean. Sneaky bastard that’ll fight literally anything.
This is the pigmy rattler of the shark community. Pigmy is very small, in fact, small enough to fit into places where one would put fingers into. Like corrugations in metal, tool bag, etc etc etc. Not many "detergents" for these 😉. 🤙🍻

Actually, one of the best shark repellant, is Tide laundry detergent. I carry, when snorkeling a couple of 35mm film cases filled with the stuff. It messes with the sharks' olfactory senses. Work great.

There has only ever been one report of a cookie cutter shark biting a person and it was when the guy was swimming in the deep ocean at night when cookie cutters typically go up to the surface to feed
Ive known about these cute little guys since grade school but it never crossed my mind they could possibly take down a submarine lmao love that for them much more interesting that benignly snacking on whales
The sharks are THAT strong. But like the guy above me said, for thr submarines they only attack the non-metal stuff. They still will bite HARD. Fish scales and shark scales are really tough and to do a wound that size and deep, requires strength
So is that also the source of the circular scars on whales too? Because I've heard before that jizz whales get the circles from giant squidwards, but this seems just as likely.
45 + years commercial fishing in Hawaii, and these little buggers get into it !! Really difficult to tell sometimes when I would catch pelagics trolling and they had one or more bites on them, if it happened before the fish was hooked and being brought in, or once they are hooked and fighting!?? I do believe many were bit while hooked and being bro8to the boat based on a fresh bleeding bite!! Still, we never see these little buggers. It would really suck to get bit by one, but it's far better than an ocenic white tip, or big tiger shark! Every deep sea fisherman in Hawaii knows about these little suckers!

Gators gar and snapping turtles treat me right! I go to Florida for one day and get a manowar in the swim trunks.
Ill never go into the ocean again.
This is a criminally underrated comment.
Some young eel ahh is very good Asian delicacy
I’d feel safer around a big Blue Insularis pit viper, cause at least they won’t bite you if you keep them fed and just give them plenty of space.

Cookie cutter sharks have a kill count of: a few US navy nuclear class submarines and a lot of power cables.
