It’s so wonderful that RUclips recommends your channel to me. I’m very much enjoyed watching your videos. Thank you and Mike for sharing your journey with us
Only a few minutes in and could not wait to say how great this video is! Thank you. I cant wait for my cycling trip, and love watching other people's trips. Thanks
UK and Scotland. After that it's mainland Europe, but I dont have a plan yet. Watching videos like yours for ideas. Your camerawork, editing, and narration was fantastic! Will check out your other stuff.
Great video and your adventure, we've done this a few times. I absolutely love France. Slow and steady and enjoy the ride. Meet, greet and eat with friendly folk along the way. And yes the drivers are so courteous and are in no hurry to rush past. It's bliss. Can't wait to go again. Mileage is Smileage just do whatever feels good for the day, don't pursue the big tallies. Cheers guys
Very well documented video, thanks very much for that. I’ll follow your trip 🚴♂️👍 Btw, google is famous for sending cycle tourists along dubious routes!
Hey There....Thanks for sharing your video.... Enjoyed very much the scenery you captured and the narration of your daily activities.... I am planning my 1st Bike Tour in the spring of 2024....Funny as it may be...I plan to start out of Leon, Spain and will be passing right by the same coast you recorded on your video towards Mont. Saint Michel....LOL The reason I am reaching out to you is to ask several questions?: 1) Folding Shair: What is the brand & model? 2) Walking or Bike Stand Pole: What is the brand & model? 3) On your day trip to Mont St. Michel....Where did you leave your bikes? This next ? is a bit too much...but have to ask anyways.... 4) What video editing platform do you use to put together your RUclips video? 5) How did you added the animated road arrow transitions & others ie. Arrow pointers icon & bike icon? Note: I realize that I have a lot to learn about this topic...but will help greatly anything you can share with me about it. 6) Did you speak in french with the locals? Will speaking in Spanish or English be okay? I am going to quit here before I am showned the exit door.....ja ja.... Again, thanks for sharing your adventure.... Looking forward to the answers on my questions.... Take care... God Bless.... Manuel Blanco Puerto Rico
Hi Manuel, thanks for your questions. We bought the chairs from Decathlon (these shops are all over Europe). But you should be able to find them online as well. The stand, Mike made out of a cheap hiking pole (also from Decathlon). He cut in half some plastic plumbing pipe and screwed it into the top of the pole to lean the bike into. Then adjusted the length of the pole as required. You also need to hold the brake on, and he used an elasticated cord around the brake lever to do this. We camped at the camping ground nearest Mont-St-Michel, so we left our bikes and tent there and walked 30 minutes to the island. There is also a bus. I use iMovie which came free with my macbook. For the animations I use keynote, which also comes free with macbook. We both have very basic french, and we found this to be ok most of the time, otherwise google translate is very helpful. Here is a link to the chairs we bought in England, they were very comfortable. www.decathlon.co.uk/p/folding-camping-chair-mh500/_/R-p-173601?mc=8492643 Good luck with your trip, you'll have a great time!
@@NomadLifeKiwi Thank you so much for responding so quickly.... As other have mentioned here....I can not wait to start next year my 1st Bike Tour....I plan to start out of Leon, Spain via Eurovelo routes around the coast of France all the way to Netherland (Meet a friend there & rest a bit) then straight down to Northern Italy - across via the coast to Greece...and I am still working on deciding the best route to the finish line @ Istanbul, Turkey.... Understand it is a bit aggressive....but I am really going all in... I am not the type to just start out small....LOL.... Thanks again for everything.... happy trails to you both...
Thankyou .Am planning to go Cherbourg in May and down to a friends place so helpful and encouraging ,inspiring. I am worried about it being cold in a tent on a friends meadow but if you already been there Ill be fine. And I have winter mountain sleeping bag ☺😁Thanks very good. Btw wouldnt a paper map be better than the failing google and Garmin ? Lol .I am taking paper maps lol Happy Travels.x
Yes, we learned about halfway through our trip that a paper map was a good idea. Definitely recommended. You'll be fine with a warm sleeping bag, ours were just light summer ones. Have a great trip!
We've taken our bike on the ferries quite a few times. It is a bit nerve wracking, but we've never had a problem. Still easier than taking it on a flight :-)
