Thanks. Guess I've never understood why so many think that being proficient at some skill or other makes them 'better'. It's just a simple matter of having the right opportunities (luck) and applying oneself to something you like to do. There isn't anything I do that someone else couldn't do, given the right circumstances.
@@TroyStetinaMusic I am sure that Song Tutorial refer his comment not focusing in being "Better" but "Humble". Many times, you find in the life people that are more interesting as professional than person, and other occasion, people more interesting as person than professional. I have seen millions of interviews of guitarist in You Tube, but no much of them has that "feeling" that you have, Troy. You have those two conditions for being not only an amazing skilled guitarist but an amazing human being. You are Teacher, you know that. When someone consider you as the "Best" is not only for your skills. Accept the truth man!!!🤟WE LOVE YOU!!!
@@TroyStetinaMusic you’re really selling yourself short. Not everyone can learn how to analyze something so well AND relay it in terms for everyone to understand. That is what make a great teacher.
Awesome mister Stetina, I met about your books because of my friends at school when I was a teenager in the last 80's, in that years I was starting playing the guitar, today I am 48 and I still continue learning a lot with your publications I hope to meet you someday, regards from Lima Peru
I bought your guitar instructional book back in the late 80's early 90's, first book I ever bought with respect to shredding it up. I was terrible and could barely play, but man did it ever set my mind aflame with possibilities. Now I'm the shred lord....I would have never gotten here in the first place if you hadn't inspired me to fly. Many, many thanks for giving me wings. Cheers brother!!
Well, I was in this band Second Soul, released Beyond the Infinite in 2010 (google Second Soul Beyond the Infinite). And I released a 5 song EP in 2021 called Through the Hall of Mirrors (google stetina through the hall of mirrors).
Hello, I have a question. In your book you said do not spend too much time for a particular excercise, do u mean that for one practicing round or for long periods of time as an example 2 weeks. or both?😅
Yes, in general, don’t dwell on one thing so long that you beat the life out of it. Start creating variants before that happens. And I think this holds true for the total time spent on a particular example. If you move on after a few weeks you can give it a rest and come back to it later and gain more benefit. Otherwise you end up creating muscle memory barriers
nice to see you troy, i have practiced your books in order for more than 10 years and currently im stuck at flight of the bumblebee,😄 thanks for all of your books troy wish to see you personally one day.
Good luck with everything! There are a lot of extra videos and insights to help you with Speed Mechanics material at Patreon.com/troystetina. And more help coming with release on SM2 upcoming. All the best!
Beautiful! Man, thanks a lot for your books :) Close to 40 and just started guitar. Although I wish to play blues and classic rock, my teacher recommended we start with your metal rhythm and lead V1 books. Just finished learning the Whips and Chains and Open Fire. I'm taking my baby steps towards blues improvisation in the A minor and I'm having a lot of "aha" moments just applying things I've learned so far from your books. Cheers Troy!

I am very proud of having you as my Teacher, my profesor. You have gave me a lot of hours of happines. Every lesson of you has been a challenge that have changed my life. You are an amazing and lovely person. Thanks a lot for sharing your humanity and knowledge. Bless you...
I liked how you behaved at the end of the performance. You were very humble and worried about clearing the stage instead of getting the deserved applause. Great men behave like this!
Was just watching a Jeff Berlin video on speed then I remembered I had metal method 1 and 2 a long time ago. Great books for developing technique with real music!
Troy, you are the best guitar teacher that has ever walked on this planet. Yet you are so humble. 🙏🙏🙏

Hi Troy
Since Exotica, which was an excellent album, you disappear
When will we hear from you on another CD?
Well, I was in this band Second Soul, released Beyond the Infinite in 2010 (google Second Soul Beyond the Infinite). And I released a 5 song EP in 2021 called Through the Hall of Mirrors (google stetina through the hall of mirrors).
I hope that lot of children (and adults too) in the audience will be inspired to learn how to play guitar!
He is risen🙏
Stop celebrating PAGAN holidays if you indeed love Jesus.
Truly, He is!

My Guitar Instructor since forever
Is there anything I can do with EQ to facilitate pinch harmonics on the bass notes?
EQ isn't really the issue. It's a matter of tone, gain and most of all, technique.
I have all your books 📚
I liked how you behaved at the end of the performance. You were very humble and worried about clearing the stage instead of getting the deserved applause. Great men behave like this!
