This video has already cemented itself as a RUclips Goldmine, if you are a designer you already know that very few design channels make real life advice
This was prefect timing as I’m getting ready to whip up a proposal now! I literally dread doing them and I’m realizing it’s because I don’t have a lot of clarity on how that serves both myself and the client. I’m at the bottom of the hill (from your illustration) currently in a season of finally fully putting myself out there outside of referrals, so thank you for sharing! 😊
@@abiconnick thank you so much and yeah, I realize that more and more these days. I do have an additional question if you’re able to answer, otherwise, if you have a video that covers this, let me know! Based on the fact that you’ve been able to scale to six figures, do you do everything yourself or have you outsourced some parts of your process to expedite your deliverables?
@@Jubrilbraimoh aww thanks! ☺️ Canva is a great tool and one worth adding to your design tool kit. I wouldn’t say it should replace Photoshop altogether, but it has its advantages, esp when it comes to convenience. What are you struggling with the most? Also feel free to hop over to my latest Canva tutorial with your specific question so it’ll be easier for me to get the notification as well.
@@BeautyGraphicDesigner Photoshop is somehow hard for me though but I prefer Canva,i really appreciate so much for your response because I have asked some many people to help me but some will just see it and don't reply or some won't reply, even when I'm in need but at least you responded,I will keep on watching your videos. Thank you so much.
I'm so glad you made this video. I'm in the process of outlining every package proposal. From invoices, contract, creative direction, brand strategy and even brand presentation. 😅 I'm going to start taking in clients next year and didn't know how to attract the higher ranking clients. Thanks Abi. I hope to see more videos like this. ❤
@abiconnick I have, I run a content creation agency, and I want to get more leads in, you mostly rely on inbound leads because you have a personal brand, but I don't have a brand and I'm too young to show my face out there, what you think is the most reliable and best way to get outbound leads, also your content is pure gold, keep it up❤
Your channel's information is really good, thank you!!! But what if you have imposter syndrome and underestimate your own abilities and don't think you're good enough to price around 10,000.
Glad it's been helpful :) The truth is, you might not be ready to charge that much yet, and that's fine. It took me years of constantly learning and building experience to get to where I am now, so just charge what you feel comfortable with and keep improving and learning so you no longer get that imposter syndrome for charging these amounts!
Thank you for the good videos. Can you also post a video about the proper output of the projects for printing and packaging? Also, how do you work for clients who already have logos and typography. You usually always do everything from scratch. Thank you, dear.❤
No problem :) Yes of course, I will note this down! The sort answer is I don't, I only tend to work on projects where I'm building the brand from scratch.
Hey Abi, I love your content and have been following for a while, thanks for all the awesome tips! I just have a doubt regarding the presentation stages. What exactly do you mean with "touchpoints"? All the other steps are super clear, I only have doubts on this particular one
Hi Abi, this is a great info. Thanks for sharing I have a question though. Is it a good practice to send original design files(Ai, EPS) to clients as a final delivery? what I think on this is, once you send original files to clients then you may have least chance to work with them in the future as they may find someone cheaper option. so, they send the original files to that cheaper designer and work with them with low budget. What I practice is I never send original design files, I just send image files so that they can apply at suitable places. what are your thoughts on this? we'd love to hear. Thanks
Hey, glad you found it useful! So when it comes to file types I always supply ai and eps files of their visual identity (logos and illustrations). But if it’s graphic design work (brochures, menus etc) I only supply them with the final files (PDF). If they want the master file this would be an additional charge! Hope this helps☺️
Hello, and thank you for everything, that's very helpful, Abi ! I quite don't get the touchpoint section of your presentation, it looks kinda like the previous page (feedback). But since english isn't my first language, maybe there's a nuance I dind't get ? Would you care to elaborate on it, please ? Thanks !
You're welcome! So the Touchpoint phase of the project covers the additional deliverables such as business cards, packaging, social media graphics etc! I like to nail the branding first, have it signed off and then more onto the marketing material aka touchpoints! Hope this helps! ☺
First time commenting on one of you video! Just wanted to say i really appreciate all this info you've given! It'll definitely help me alot going forward. But one thing I want to know is if a client decides the full brand package at the enquiry page but chooses the lowest budget, how do you navigate that?
ahh thank you! Really appreciate it, and glad it was helpful :) In the proposal, it explains what the 2 price options inculde, normally on lower budget projects I only do a mini brand strategy and not a full one, which saves me a lot of time meaning I can offer it for a lower cost!
Great video Does anyone else encounters this? a problem of me is i always get overwhelmed by everything so i take a break for a day then i have no clue what to do to attract clients
I enjoyed this video, though I’m still left with the question: how do you get enough quality prospective clients in the first place?! I’ve watched many of your videos and have my templates ready to go, but not enough inquiries to work with to truly be successful!
I have a video coming soon on how I recommend you get clients, (actually currently writing it as we speak). But can I ask what are you currently trying to get clients? I have a big bias towards social media just because of how impactful it's been for me.
Glad it's helpful :) So I know calls aren't for everyone, instead you can always send them over a in-depth questionnaire to fill out, but I would advise practicing to help get more comfortable on camera. It was awkward for me when I started out, but practice and reputation helped a lot! Try do it with a family member or friend and get them to pretend they are a client- also, it's a lot less awkward when you can bullet points or a script to follow, so you always know what question to ask next!
Hey Abi, great video!❤. I'm just wondering where do you create your portfolio or website where they take the enquiry form? I'm struggling choosing Behance or Wix.
Thank you! So I always try to do it within 24 hours, while it's still fresh in the prospects mind :) I've found it helps increase the chances of landing the project!

100K only? I thought you get a lot of client work due to your online presence...
Tech Companies pay more than this if we join..
I only take on 4/5 projects a year
