So much great stuff in here. Thanks for this video. I think I'm going to pickup the Common Chess Patterns before I jump into Woodpecker. This video was a great help, keep the content coming!
Thanks for making this video. At the age of 41, as an adult improver who is also training his daughter, I will be following your progress for inspiration and tips.
Thanks for watching, I hope it will help. By the way I am also training my daughter, it can be very rewarding. We play over the board, always with a clock and always recording the moves on a score sheet, and later analyse the game together. Sometimes I give her huge time advantage (e.g. she has 45 minutes, I have 3 minutes), so she gets a chance to win if I blunder. It happened once :) Also, you can try playing blindfold chess with her, just turn your back to the board and speak out the moves. When you lost the vision, turn over and continue playing normal chess. It can be of great banefit for both of you.
@@AdultChessImprover That's a good idea. I'll try playing blindfold with my daughter. It will give her a chance of winning without me having to throw a game away.
Unfortunately I have admit that I didn't finish the circle. The reason is that I just felt very tired by doing chess on the computer, and I switched back to physical board and books. Right now I am doing my tactics from a big Laszlo Polgar book. My rating increased from 1800 to 1900 since then (Lichess rapid).
@@AdultChessImprover ahhh yes! I think I have that book. "5000 problems" or something like that? You set the problems up on the board or just do it in the head?
@@vespeneprotoss4346 Yeah, that's the one. I do the easy ones (mate in 1, or simple mate in 2) in the head, and the hard ones I put on the board. I made a video about that, check it out: ruclips.net/video/b7fz84kKc9c/видео.html
I think a set of 250 is too little. I now did a 500 set and on circle 3 I already remember many, so stop soving altoghether. I think 1000 is a good size for a set,
