I relate sooooo harrrrrrd to this behaviour. I say god I should build a trap...then thinks of the hassle of going back to base and grabbing structures needed.....going back and building (if I can, provided no enemy pillars nearby).....then I just stubbornly stay there and keep taming LOL I often wonder if it takes me longer to do it this way than to plan ahead....but I can tame mantis fast w NO trap. Just use wyv wings to get rid of all other tames. then kill one by one. dont harvest bodies, let mantis do it. once area is clear, start taming. Use bug repellant and ghille!!!
Honestly I'd love to see you build on camera! If you don't want to do it in a main video, you could do it as a "Mini video" where it's sped up, just so people can see how you got the general layout of your base!

Oh my Gods, at 29:05 - 29:11 the Mantis bends down after Lil Syn pulls out the Gallimimus and the Mantis looks like it bends down to get a better look and when Lil Syn moves the head follows and then when Lil Syn puts away the Gallimimus the mantis moves it's head up and its so cute!!

You can make a mantis trap using stone, make it 1 by 1 surround it by walls 3 walls high, and add a ramp on 1 side leading down to the ground. Then you can drop a mantis down next to it and lead him there with aggro on foot using the ramp. Then just fly away and you can reset his aggro and he’s stuck in the trap. A nice bonus is that you can feed him through the trap with no ghille or bug repellent

What is the point watching it first is same as watching it 24hrs after it came out, there’s no prize for being first and there is nothing to prove by being there first just that the RUclips algorithm worked in ur favor and notified u quick after it came out.
I know you think building videos are boring but I really enjoy watching your process. I'm not the best builder and you're not one of the "professional" ark builders so I like seeing how you solve problems, create designs, etc. Just my two cents. Love your stuff either way! ❤️
The Mantis with a really good pickaxe can farm tons of element both on genesis(inside the volcano) and on extinction(through element veins). And they can farm lots of polymer inside the bees' cave on crystal isles if equiped with a good hatchet.
A new feature needs to be added to the tracking feature, if you want to find a specific tame that you have that is lost then you can look for it with the tracker and find it easily.
I was just rewatching the cluster, and seeing that krayt dragon skeleton actually reminded me of the Knights of the Old Republic games, so now I am watching Ark videos while playing KotOR: my evening is now complete
Idk if you're still going to read this, but on 11:36 you said something about tracking. There actually is a mod called "Dino Tracker" that let's you track your Dinos, wild dinos in render distance, your tribe mates and your death points.
Dude my mantis were doing that same weird jerking thing a few days ago! I had to keep moving them around my base area until I found a spot where they finally stopped. XD
btw not sure if anyone has mentioned it but yes you can knock out creatures with a mantis lol, had a good laugh went i sent my mantis armed with candy cane clubs after a group of mammoths it was set to target only conscious and knocked out a whole herd lol
I think with this build (unless you already have an idea) you should go more vanilla season 4 style. In other words before things like the DS mod that pretty much eliminates Dino areas in the base. If you want to make that whole area your base, your gonna need buildings to fill up the area, because if not it’s gonna be too much space and not enough to fill it. I think a cool idea would be to keep the DS mod, but only put your most used creatures in it, and the rest of them build areas for like you had to in your vanilla series. Another neat thing is to use vaults. I know they are expensive and big and annoying, but they force you to increase the size of your base, which is perfect if your gonna take so much land of your own. I know he probably won’t see this but if you want to leave a like so he can at least notice the idea and think on it for himself that would be great.
I'm breeding my mantis now. I got 3 females and one male all max level with 278 Mel on official Xbox PvE. I have been waiting to breed these since update but had no male. Got a joker female also with 278 mel

@@cudecabra You just described the main reason I prefer PvE. It becomes just a epic waste of time when all of your hard work that went into Building and breeding adequate tames can be undone in a matter of minutes.
Syntac Krate Dragons in the Star Wars universe can get ridiculously huge they grow indeterminantly & can live for thousands of years the largest one was over 3Km long & was able to pray of Sarlacc's. The one in the Mandolorian was actually small for the species.

Mantis are great for harvesting veins on extinction. I'm really excited to see how good the breeding make them for vein harvesting and whatever else.
