  • This film tells the story of Studebaker, from it's early beginnings in 1852 to it's current position in the industry in 1957 at Southbend, Indiana as Studebaker-Packard. From horse drawn buggies to motor vehicles. The company was able to transition from Buggies to Motor vehicles and this is their story and their plans for the future.

The introduction of the Lark temporarily resuscitated Studebaker. But when Ford, GM and Chrysler entered the compact car market, it was a slow death for Studebaker. Mismanagement, overly generous union contracts and not being financially able to compete against the Big 3 sealed their fate. Sad end to a once proud company.

My GGGrandfather wouldn't buy anything but Studebaker Wagons . Grandfather bought nothing but Studebaker Cars . I have a 64 Avanti R2 as my pride and joy.
