    Why does nobody talk about the 4 point stance

    • @-LadiesMan217-
      @-LadiesMan217- 4 года назад +72

      Thomas Cohn the four point is good when taught right, but it can put you into a bad habit of having too much weight on your hands and putting you off balance. The minute you create a disadvantage, especially coming out of your stance, it can be bad if the O-lineman sees that and k ones he can just handle you.

    • @KingWillDog32
      @KingWillDog32 4 года назад +22

      4 point is really good -, 1 and 8 technique in a 4 man front. If the D End is fast and long enough 4 point is pretty good too. The downside is it takes away a free hand to battle with.

    • @-LadiesMan217-
      @-LadiesMan217- 4 года назад +8

      King Willdog I completely agree, once a good base for attack is set up. Your absolutely right about the free hand being taken away too, because it is vital in keeping enough space between you and the O-liner. The use of the 3 point stance becomes even more of an advantage when the lineman is in a two point stance. This creates amazing separation, which is why the two point is almost never taught because it takes away most of the offenses momentum and only being practical in pass situations.

    • @-LadiesMan217-
      @-LadiesMan217- 4 года назад +4

      King Willdog if by the 8 technique you are also referring to the 9 as well, then yes I would say be a track star and take off as fast as possible whether it be one hand or two. As long as you are getting to the QB like your Girdle and cleats are on fire.

    • @KingWillDog32
      @KingWillDog32 4 года назад +4

      @@-LadiesMan217- you're correct the 8 and the 9 tech need to be fast regardless of stance and you described it the best way possible. In the end it all comes down to the athlete. I prefer 3 point for all the points you have made. Leverage, hand fight, strength, techniques, play call and front called the 3 point gives the athlete the opportunity to make a play whether he makes the tackle or not

    Ok I need to ask I’m 120 pounds 12 years old I’m 5’3 I can EASILY deadlift 120-140 I can bench abt 70 pretty easy but I’m just now starting on the bench I can throw 50 pound bags over my shoulders and throw them like 10 feet I’m pretty fast not EXTREMELY fast but I’m decently fast I live on a HUGE farm and I RUN 30-40 pounds each 5 gallon buckets in both hands I have to wrestle cows and sheep and goats to the ground to give them meds or get their hooves trimmed I’m INSANELY strong kinda fast but I’m kinda small weight wise for a d-line but I kinda wanna be a d-line like Aaron Donald and JJ Watt so I need y’alls recommendations

    Play smart over ego and power power is natural, u will talk power ur nothing without intelligence. knowing our body and what it's used for and good at also what it is made and built to do ... doing that out never burns out it's playtime baby. A lot of people love proving a pointless movement it only fills ur ego, it is about the team in you , all the muscles you have plus ur teammates and mostly your mind get it right you will become unstoppable . Thats how i think

    Been Transferring these LB tricks to Rugby and boy are they effective. In Rugby the defense pulls up flat off the line so this would be essential for every position in Rugby. LB in defense, RB/FB in offense=dangerous Rugby player.
