Hello ladies [ @Immediatelyyespodcast ] ! Nightwish fan here, your musical quest summoned me. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This live recording is from Wacken Open Air 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tuo-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [Sami Vanska was the bassist of the band starting with their 2nd studio album, he was with them until 2001. Then Marco Hietala was bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least. Then in May 2021 Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen [he also recorded the bass lines for their 1st studio album]. Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " For an extended set of suggestion (with links), I posted 2 huge comments in the community tab in my main YT channel: www.youtube.com/@gabriel.bardac/community 🤘
General, nice to see you again. Ladies, chart your own journey, but General Gabriel's guide and the NW army will not let you down. Should you choose to continue your journey into the depths of NW, hold on tight as it's quite the ride, and I'll be on the Nightwatch cheering you on!
Lydia, love the flag shirt. I'm in the USA, as you ladies are. But Nightwish is not in the USA. As others have stated, you are about to be shocked by the number of Nightwish fans that find your channel. First thing you need to realize is the international nature of the Nightwish experience. The band is from Finland, the singer is from the Netherlands (now living in Sweden), and though their music is in English, there is only one native English speaker in the band. That would be Troy Donockley, playing the pipes/guitar. He's from the UK. And Lydia, if you have never been to a concert, I cannot imagine how you're going to feel if you watch more live Nightwish. The singer you just watched is Floor Jansen. She is a genuine treasure for all to behold. The guy playing the keyboards (Tuomas Holopainen) is a modern-day Mozart. An unbelievably gifted songmaker (his term). Get ready. People from all over the world are likely to show up at your doorstep.
@@TorioMaas I was referring to the term we here in the Nightwish Army commonly call it. And that is "Floorgasm". Welcome to the rabbithole known as Nightwish.
@@Z-one1000 I get that. Hardly new. I've been listening to Nightwish since 97 or 98. Always was surprised when people didn't know who the band was, however, I never engaged in any fan-like behavior. Just listened and loved. Nightwish got me through 6 deployments. Nuff said.
@@TorioMaas Got it. Glad to know their music helped you through what were probably not very easy times. Also Thank you for your service and hope you have a safe and happy holiday and New Year ❤🥰.
I saw her do this 2 days ago while being super pregnant! She is a force of nature our dear Floor! Nightwish is an amazing band and very versatile. Welcome to the rabbit hole. Enjoy the ride!
How the devil you could sing like that when somebody's squishing your diaphragm (and everything else no doubt!) amazes me. Well, okay - Floor amazes me no matter what, but you know.
@@LuisRdzG10 She also kept singing until she was at least six months along with her first child and she may have gone even longer than that, I am not sure. It would not really surprise me if Floor is still mucking out her horse stalls by herself even as far along as she is. She's not afraid of work and she is a big strong lady. She's awesome. And for all that, I love that she is also still very humble. She knows who she is so she doesn't take trolling or bullying seriously at all. She's great! :)
Get ready for the Nightwish army to show up. The General will be along shortly I'm sure to educate you on a hidden gem of a band. If you choose to take the ride, Nightwish will not disappoint. There are so many great songs and so varied in style. I hope you grow to love them as much as I, and so many others, do. Thanks for the reaction.
The greatest band on the planet playing the greatest composer of my lifetime. They play nothing but epic music, each performer is a virtuoso and Floor is the greatest singer I've ever heard, and I'm an old guy! No two songs are anywhere close to each other, and each offers a new adventure for the ears and mind. Dive into the "rabbit hole" ... it was the greatest exploration of my life. I promise you will be grateful for the journey. The one mistake you made, Floor never tries to outperform the band. These are the six most "ego-less" people I've ever seen, and they each do exactly what is needed for the composition. Tuomas (the composer and keyboardist) has a grand design for each song, and each member is completely on board, offering what they can to the betterment of the performance. Emppu (guitarist) can shred like very few others, and he only does it every once in a while, when the song calls for it. As you watch, keep this in mind, because you will discover the magic of this band is the love they have for each other.
@@1970Phoenix I absolutely have heard Dimash sing, and he's a unicorn, but Floor sings Tuomas Holopainen compositions and he doesn't. He has the greatest voice ever, but if I'm only allowed to attend one show ... he comes in second.
Correct, Floor never tries to outperform the band. Further, I doubt the thought has ever entered her mind. She is the humblest, most down to earth star you could ever meet (look up her ‘Fan Fridays’ video series she put together during the worldwide lockdown). Nightwish is the greatest collection of world class musicians who have Zero ego and all contribute just the right amount to make every one on Tuomas’ Compositions and epic creation for all us mere mortals to revel in. Enjoy the Nightwish journey…fortunately it is a long one 🤗
I never heard of these guys until 2019, I was raised on mostly UK and US music and thought it had been largely crap since the 90s. Nightwish blew me away with all their live performances (and seriously, you haven't even heard a fraction of what the Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen can do with her voice!) This was the first time Floor had performed at Wacken Open Air (The worlds largest metal festival) having joined the band as a temporary replacement for Annette Olsen during the North American leg of Nightwish's 2012 world tour. Annette ended up retiring on medical grounds, and Floor finished the tour, overcoming the burnout she had been battling. This was the first look many Nightwish fans had of Floor, and by the end of the concert 82k fans were screaming her name. Seriously, she is the most charismatic performer since Freddie Mercury. The entire Nightwish set at Wacken is one of the greatest concerts of all time. Like many vocal Goddesses she is Dutch, but lives in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl on their little farm, with their daughter Freja, cats, horse, pony, giant Irish Wolfhound Fenris and recording studio in their barn. Hannes is the drummer for history nerds/metalheads Sabaton. Floor is currently pregnant with her second child, barely 6 months after a cancer scare. She recently performed at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam in front of 50k people as she opened for Metallica. She is the loveliest, most humble person in the world.
I've kind of felt the same way about the music of the US and UK. I'm American, but I hardly listen to American music anymore. I mostly listen to German, Scandinavian & Finnish (I separate those because the Finnish aren't Scandinavians, as any Finn will tell you) and ESPECIALLY Japanese metal nowadays.
Same for me. I'd not heard of Nightwish or Floor until about 16 months ago after a friend kept pestering me to have a listen to them. I gave in and watched and listened to the "Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wembley 2015 and I was blown away and have been ever since. I didn't expect to like symphonic metal but having been an avid E.L.O. fan for 40+ years the sound was very much to my liking. 🙏😊👍❤️
I too only found them last year, on RUclips. Can't believe they produce live performances like this and don't register on mainstream media. I think the last count I saw on Google was that there are about 1500 reaction videos to this one song (most being the Wacken festival in 2013). In fact there is now a compilation video of some of the best reaction videos. The concensus seems to be "this is amazing! How have I never heard of them until now?
Nightwish Army Germany reports for Duty: What you should do: Listen to Gabriel. He knows. Great Reaction !! I think our Queen captured more souls….:-) It never gets old to see people freeze when our Queen starts to sing…. About Ghost Love Score: Standing solid as a World Pillar around which the planet revolves, Floor hits "The Note," the crowd loses their shit, the band tears a hole in the fabric of Space-Time, and 82,000 people will never, ever be the same again. Floor Jansen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Valkyries and Stonehenge, Lady of Nightwish and Protector of our Metal Realm. Long may she reign. Bow, mortal !
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish and the most versatile vocal beast Floor Jansen. Gabriel will soon show up, leading the Nightwish army to your channel and giving you all the info you need for now. One tip though if you plan on seeing more of Nightwish: never ever stop the video until you're sure they are finished...
Floor Jansen & The Red Limo String Quartet - Energize Me . Acoustic , No mic , no audio amplification , no audio tricks simply 100% PURE Floor-Power . this is from before the Nightwish period. this is a song from Floor's old band After Forever. link : ruclips.net/video/uzW1jDAt69Q/видео.html .
This was song 13 of a 15 song set. How you could still have that much energy after playing that many songs is beyond me, I'm exhausted just watching them play 1 song ! My suggestion for next nightwish song is either "ever dream" or "last ride of the day" from this same concert wacken 2013! Keep up the good work ladies
I think Ever Dream was the second Nightwish song I heard after this one and it is a solid 2nd song. You got some soft Floor, some Power Floor, and a nice Marko introduction!
Watching people react to GLS for the first time has been my evening hobby for years now. This was great fun and I appreciated it with a like and subscribe!
Me to. It is the same with Lovebites/ Holy War, Nemophila / Revive, Band-Maid / Domination (Live) and Hanabie / We love sweet. It is fun when people drops their jaws....
Hi ladies; Kelsea from the Nightwish Army Germany here. I would also like to welcome you to the wonderful world of Nightwish music. You are dealing here with probably the most versatile metal band in music history, whose frontwoman Floor Jansen is a real vocal chameleon. If you want your goosebumps to get goosebumps, then you've come to the right place at Nightwish and Floor.
14:37 Floor doesn't outperform the band. At this point in the band's history, they were literally at the strongest they had been in many years, and they were really gelling together as one. I point this out because with the previous two singers, that's how both were terminated, by trying to overshadow the band and be the "big important lead singer for Nightwish" instead of "We are Nightwish." After about 10 years together since forming in 1996, what had started out as a band formed by friends had devolved to the point that there was Nightwish (the band) and Tarja (the singer). It was an extremely emotional point in the band's history, as after the End of an Era tour, which culminated in the final performance being recorded on DVD, Tuomas (keyboardist, composer, lyricist, "The Metal Mozart") handed Tarja a letter and told her she was fired. Tuomas and Tarja started off as best friends many a year ago, so it damned near killed Tuomas to fire her, and he, in a way, did commit emotional suicide by writing an extremely painful song ("The Poet and The Pendulum"). Through a series of auditions, they then hired Annette Olzon, who was a great studio singer with a more contemporary voice, but didn't have the range and classical ability to perform many of the Nightwish classic songs with super-high belts live. Nevertheless, the newer songs from the two albums she sang on (Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum) were spectacularly good with her performing them. However, during the Imaginaerum tour, that same Band + Singer rift began to form again, and it was spectacularly messy to the point that she was terminated halfway through the tour. So, they called in the biggest favor they could possibly ask for and made a phone call to the Netherlands. There is a documentary "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" about the whole situation, but Floor joined immediately as soon as she answered the phone. The next concert was 48 hours after the call, so on an overnight flight from the Netherlands and quite literally listening to the songs on the flight over and taking just one day to not only memorize all of them after landing, but do a series of rehersals so she could get the vibe and tuning right, she was on stage performing. You could tell there was an immediate momentum shift, as throughout that concert, after Floor absolutely nailed the first two songs, they were smiling, giving each other looks like "holy shit, this is... this is what we were meant to sound like!" At the time of Wacken 2013 (this concert and performance), Floor was still just the touring singer and had been with the band for just over 10 months. She has remained with the band for the past 10 years, and even after Jukka (drummer) had to retire due to medical reasons (debilitating insomnia) and Marco (bassist, co-lead singer on many songs) retired for his mental and physical health, she is still of the "We are Nightwish" vibe. Best lead singer they've had, imho, and has the range and ability to do every song Nightwish has ever made :)
Well, obviously, a Floor fan, but some valid remarks :-) I think Anette was the weakest of the three, but I would not dare to compare Tarja and Floor, although I prefer Nightwish with Floor :-)
Floor is anything but egocentric. In spite of her towering talent, she is very down-to-earth. She understands that without her loyal fan base, she would be as ordinary as any other person out there. So if anything, she and the rest of the band (her Nightwish family) compliment each other. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm 37 and never heard of Nightwish until earlier this year. Even if you never do another Nightwish reaction y'all should explore some more of their work if you have free time. I think it's a band that over its long career has something to offer to anyone, and I say this as a guy that thought he was done with rock and metal after high school (this was early-mid 2000's when nu-metal dominated the radio). Also, you'll get to experience the work of some of the best musicians and vocalists around and just marvel at their skill and dedication. Floor Jansen's voice is so powerful, she could melt the coldest heart and relocate a small mountain when she turns it on. It is crazy.
Glad you enjoyed this song ladies, welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish :) The singer you saw in this performance is the 3rd and current Nightwish singer, Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen), and the previous two singers (Tarja Turunen was the original singer, followed by Anette Olzon) are amazing too and well worth checking out - the band have been around since 1996 and have a huge following here in Europe and the UK, but the US is beginning to catch on :) You will get TONNES of requests for their live performances, and their live performances are indeed amazing (though i will always remind people that their studio albums are every bit as good too!). I think as a follow-up to Ghost Love Score you ladies might enjoy their performance of 'Storytime' -also from Wacken 2013...very different from GLS, but equally as epic :)
Why can't FLOOR'S time & performances with NIGHTWISH be it's own...Without Your always mentioning Annette or Tarja? Afraid the other former singers will be forgotten?
@@FilPol-yu1es 😲 Wtf??? I have no problem at all with Floor as it happens; Ive been a fan of hers since After Forever and i have nothing but admiration and respect for her and what shes brought to Nightwish. However, Im a Nightwish fan of 20 years, and I also recognise that Nightwish have a long history that goes beyond Floors time in the band, and whether you like it or not Tarja and Anette are a big part of that history, as is Marko for that matter, so yes i will mention them when -like everyone else - educating newcomers about the history of the band. Im not the only person in the comments who's mentioned Tarja and Anette btw. Finally, Floor is talented enough and classy enough that she doesnt need people tearing down her predecessors - who she has shown nothing but respect towards since joining Nightwish - in order to build her up. Im not interested in getting into a long argument with you about this, so that is all i have to say on this.
One song that I would recommend for the studio/video, rather than live, is Shoemaker. If you do it you will see why. A perfect production with music of great beauty
Yay, more Nightwish and more Floor Jansen solo side projects too please! Best band, every song is different, no egos, just excellent musicians who love what they do, and share it with us. So great. Look for Gabriel in the comments. He is our Herald /General and will have info and lots of good quality links for you all. Subbed in hopes of more. Nightwish Army, BC Canada reporting for duty. 😊😊😊
Great reaction ladies 😍 Middle aged woman here and even I'm Finnish I have just started this beautiful journey with our national pride Nigthwish. Of course I have been hearing them during the years but only since year ago I just started to REALLY hear them and what a great journey! Now I'm so hooked and my favorite hobby now is knitting and listening Nightwish, almost every day :D And, waiting for your other reactions and I'm recommending Shoemaker, Poet and the Pendulum, Yours is an empty hope, Storytime, Romanticide etc :D
Nightwish is one of the most popular bands in the world....except for here in the US. That, however is changing due to their popularity on RUclips and other internet music sites. Oh...there were 82,000 people at this concert. It's not an unusual thing when they are at outdoor venues. I discovered them here on YT back in 2019, and have been hooked since I first heard "Ghost Love Score." I now have CDs, DVD's, my Amazon Music play list is 90% Nightwish. I am 65 years old...and I am not the oldest Nightwish fan ...as I know of fans in their 70's!!! Enjoy your Nightwish journey...I know I am!!!
Hi Larry, hope everything is well. Greetings from Finland! Always remember when my friend told me story about Nightwish gig in Finland. One lovely about 20 something year old girl went to concert with her grandma (70-85y old). Grandma a huge Nightwish fan and she was so into it and girl tried to calm her down many times during concert because she rocked so hard 🤣 People around them were totally amused about the whole thing and loved it of course. One of the best things about this band how there are fans of all ages and backgrounds. Just pure love for the music.
Not very popular in the Netherlands either, and that is where Floor came from. Things are SLOWLY changing over there but they are still stuck on Pop music. Metal is not yet a big thing in the Netherlands, even of it is GREAT music. The Netherlands is like Korea that way...
76 years old here, long time lover of metal, who only discovered this band very recently. Now totally hooked, been making friends and family watch this video, trying to protect them from the ignorance under which I had been depriving myself for too long!
Arguably, Floor Jansen is the most versatile singer alive. She covers a 4-5 octave range and can swing from death metal growls to opera, occasionally in the span of a single note. I've not seen nor heard any singer who has such a stylistic range. She is a classically trained soprano and it would probably take the watching of 20 or 30 videos before you would begin to understand the breadth of her abilities. You have the option of listening to more Nightwish or Floor's other bands After Forever and ReVamp. She has also had a hard rock project Northward, plus her current solo tour for her new pop material Paragon. During the pandemic, she was churning out covers, which can be seen on her RUclips channel. With the exception of British bands and singers, American music industry has deliberately cut off Americans from the European music scene. You would be shocked to find out how much good quality music is out there that you did not know existed. In no particular order, some European metal bands to listen to, plus a Canadian and a Mongolian one thrown in for good measure: - Sabaton (Swedish) "Christmas Truce" a very poignant song about the truce between German, British and French troops during Christmas 1914 in the First World War. Hint: play the credits all the way through as Floor Jansen is singing the outro. - Jinjer (Ukrainian) "Pisces" takes you on a mental health journey. There are different interpretations, but to me it suggests living with a bipolar disorder. - Epica (Dutch) "Consign to Oblivion" is a song that combines symphonic metal like Nightwish along with death metal influences. They're considered to be the heavier version of Nightwish. Floor Jansen has appeared with the as well. - Hu (Mongolian) "Wolf Totem" combines traditional Mongolian instruments and themes with heavy metal. They also performed "Song of Women" with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, a song about women and primarily about their mothers. Quite the thematic swing between the two songs. - Unleash the Archers "Awakening" featuring a combination of power metal, death metal and strong female vocals. Totally different from Nightwish yet combine metal with powerful female vocals. Brittney is classically trained, but she goes full metal in these performances.
Indeed she is an amazing and versatile singer, but you were probably assuming that because you've never listened to a man named Rowan London, check it out, his band is called Virgin Black.
@@danpats1 Ya, he's your generic, garden variety contra tenor. Many male singers could train to do this. When I was young, I had the range to be trained for this. Bottom line, most men don't want to sound like a woman and most women don't want to listen to them when they do. To quote a classically trained soprano, "I like my tenors to have balls." Dimash gets noticed as he took his classical training and pivoted into the pop world. After the castrati became verboten, contra tenors were all the rage. Today they're a rare breed, so Dimash gets lots of attention. It's fashion, nothing more. Drop "contra tenor" or "countertenor" into the search bar to listen to the others out there.
Welcome to the world of Nightwish and symphonic metal. They really are an unique band and Floor beautiful voice reach your heart and soul. Hope you continue to explore their music. Greetings from Portugal
Glad you decided to react to this band ,This is with their 3rd singer Floor Jansen,a 6’1” Dutch vocal beast..They’re definitely a band that are better live, their studio stuff is good but it’s their live performances where they shine…they go from operatic though to rock, folk,Celtic and on to thrash and everything in between, hope you decide to dip your toe into some more..if you do then definitely use Gabriel’s list as it has the best quality videos performance and audio wise.👍
You don't just go to a Nightwish concert....you go for an EXPERIENCE!! Thuomas Holopanien is one of the great storytellers in all of music, because that's what he does..creates musical masterpiece stories! And that last note of Floor's that she held.....that was the culmination of 2 months of performances trying different variations of it with the Wacken show being the pinnacle culmination of all her work. And she has done it that way ever since!
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!! The Nightwish Army is incoming! You're not ready! Nightwish Army Central Florida Black Company reporting for duty!
Just a couple of corrections. Mosh pits and crowd surfing are two different things. Trans-Siberian Orchestra has had multiple singers through the years and have about ten of them live as well. I first heard of Nightwish because an old friend of mine handed me an album called "Century Child" and said, "You like Savatage, check out this group called Nightwish." Incidentally, a year or two before that, that same friend handed me a different CD by a new band called After Forever and said, "You listen to Savatage, so check out this group." Why do I bring up Savatage? They evolved into Trans-Siberian Orchestra and still play a few Savatage songs when they're on tour. Savatage was my introduction to both Nightwish and to Floor Jansen, the vocalist you see here and the vocalist of the now-defunct After Forever.
welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive). this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream" this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).
First, thank all of you for your professional set up for these reactions. We want to get to know you, which includes seeing you on camera and hearing your true voices through real microphones. Nightwish is described as "symphonic metal", a genre of music for which there is no radio play here in the USA. The description of their music might be a little unfair. They play whatever sort of songs that suits there mood at the time. The keyboardist, Tuomas Halopainen, is the genius behind these songs, and his mind works in a somewhat unusual way. It imagines full songs complete with symphonic orchestral accompaniment along with several choirs now and then. The studio versions have the actual symphonic orchestra and choirs on them, but it is not at all practical to take that many musicians on tour, so they appear as recordings broadcast over the arena PA. The drummer wears a headset that keeps him abreast of the recording so he can control the tempo of the song to match the recorded material. What you've just watched is almost certainly the greatest live performance ever recorded. It's a bit unfair to say so, because few live performances include a full symphony orchestra, a full choir, and a full boys choir in addition to the rock band. I have to admit that the first time I watched it, I was stunned and a bit disturbed by its intensity. You didn't fully explore the lyrics, which tell of a women whose love is so deep that she would prefer her man kill her on the spot if he does not take her home with him. It's a bit much to experience. Part of the charm of Nightwish is that they are not afraid to go over the top with their music. They will never be my favorite band. They are to metallic for my taste, but they are the very best at what they do, and should be a household name all over the world. Why they have been ignored by the mainstream music industry would make for an interesting study.
Instruments. Singing. Whoa. A very concise and accurate reaction. The Nightwish army, I'm sure, approves, and we would be disappointed if you did not continue down the rabbit hole. May I suggest "Storytime" (my fave) next? The live version from Wacken open air 2013.
the North German Division of the Nightwish Army reports !! We are there. special greetings to the General of the Army > Gabriel Bardac < (in your comments) and of course the rest of the Nightwish army and the sabaton family The Bande Vocals : Floor Jansen Bass,Vocals : Marco Hietala Guitar : Emppu Vuorinen Keyboards,Songwriting. : Tuomas Holopainen Uilleann Pipes : Troy Donockley Drums :1-Jukka Nevalainen until 2013 /and then 2-Kai Hahto.
Little details: Floor Jansen had just barely joined the band, that was the 12th songs of the concert almost 2h30...so immagine the stamina. Speaking for the Nightwish Army...we appreciate you liking them hoping you get even deeper in the Nightwish rabbit hole. 😊 I loved them since their beginning in 1996 and they are one of the reason why Metal will NEVER die. 🤘😎
Considering you all have headphones on, I'm not sure where all the echo is coming from on the video but it is pretty strong. I would look at trying to eliminate that on future videos. Everything else was great, keep at it.
Floor stands just a tad under 6-2 in bare feet, and she's wearing 4 to 5 inch heels here.....she's the Valkyrie Goddess....audience was an intimate little gathering of 82, 000.....this entire show is on both DVD and RUclips, under the title of "Showtime, Storytime"....Tuomas Holopainen is the keyboardist, co-founder, leader, guru, composer, lyricist, arranger, and producer of 95% of the band's music....he is the Metal Mozart......they have four other concert DVD's out, which are also on RUclips......Nightwish Army, South Carolina, USA
Im not preaching but the singer is Angel..We all have a gift and she used hers..I cant spell her name ..Im 50 years old and sick with an illness..What a singer who lifts my spirits..Boston mass, always
They all are amazing and super talented. Every new member have given something new to the mix, but with Floor NW really hit the stars. Greetings from Finland.
Hello Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. And they make Symphonic Metal. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. I happily refer you to Gabriel Bardac's comment (he'll be here soon) for a list with lots of song suggestion. Watch out for the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Welcome to Nightwish. I hope that you continue your journey with this great band, full of talented performers, who work as a team to produce the best rendition of the songs that they sing. Every song is different, every song is wonderful (seriously, I haven't heard a bad one yet). I have liked and subscribed because seeing people learn and appreciate more and more about Nightwish is almost as good as when I went through the same experiences myself.
Welcome to the wonderfully rabbit hole known as Nightwish!! The drummers in this performance is called Jukka and he absolutely smashes the whole show. So nice to see Floor acknowledge him at the end of this song. Unfortunately he's no longer playing with the band as he suffered with chronic insomnia, but he is still involved in the bands management. A chap by the name of Kai Hahto, who was Jukka's mentor, stepped into the spot and is still playing with them. He's a totally different beast. Where as Jukka was all show with a real heavy, wet sound to his kit, Kai is much more technical and restrained and has a much drier sound (he is probably in the top 10 of drummer around today).
Very nice reaction, hope you will do another one from Nightwish. The fun fact is, not one song sounds the same! And their live performances are the best. Happy journey. New subscriber here, from the Netherlands.
Middle aged...damned i am old(54), you are young charming Ladies! Chase, who else :) Very funny and refreshing hearing and seeing what you are expecting. Floor for sure dont try outperforming:) in The Mix she is very dominant, but be assured, down in the Turf, you hear them as an united Force:) The Crowd were about up to 82k, and as the Band is there since 1996, their Tracks are surely known by the Fans:) It was Song 13 of an 15 Song Set. The rest will come from my Comrades, would love to see another reaction to Nightwish, Ladies.) Stay healthy NWArmy Bavaria North, Germany
First off I applaud the three of you for something. Usually when I see three Americans reacting to any song you get talking over the video you get jokes you get sometimes people not taking it seriously...... Don't be offended I am an American myself LOL but you guys let the song breathe you could see your facial expressions and we could tell how you are affected by the music. I thank you guys for that....... Not a lot of reactors do that it's either a ton of talking over the video or it's a pause-fest....... So basically what you're saying is a band that is literally at the top of their game and she was only in the band for 10 months prior to this so I don't even think she hit her peak yet however this performance of this song as well as all the other songs at this concert are now definitely legendary status.......because if you react to this entire concert you will just realize how amazing this performance for this song really is because I was as other people have probably said this song was at the end or closer to the end of the set it was in August so it was hot she'd only been with the band ten months and she was hitting high notes the entire concert sustaining them and just being powerful and you will realize something else she wasn't trying to sing over the music the music was trying to play over her!!!!!
Greetings from the Nightwish army in New York 🤗 Prepare for an army of new subscribers! I like you're style, very different and relaxed. Go ahead and jump in to that rabbit hole, it only gets better from here 😁 Much, much more Nightwish please.
Hanna, in Metal music, drums are a KEY player (not just 'keeping the beat', but an active instrument all on it's own). Nightwish has enjoyed having two amazing drummers, both of whom are still connected to the band: - Jukka Nevalainen is seen here in this (AMAZING) 2013 concert at Wacken Open Air. Jukka ("You-Ka") is a punchy, aggressive drummer who plays 100% 'for-the-song'. He left the day-to-day playing duties only due to medical issues, and still does managerial work for them. - Kai Hahto replaced Jukka in the mid 2015 iirc. While Jukka's playing feeling like an emotional driving force, Kai carries every bit as energy AND is a micro-precise human metronome... it is unreal. (for an amazing little bit of "Kai", listen to the intro from "Weak Fantasy" from the Live in Tampeire set... around 2017, I think). YES, they both use drum triggers (you can see them on extreme closeup shots of the drums, but they aren't triggering sampled-sounds... I believe the sound crew using them to act as noise-gates (all stage-generated sounds are pushed thru ProTools which also provides in-ear click-tracks for the musicians, ties in the orchestral/choral backing tracks, AND runs the syncs for the lights and pyro displays. Nightwish has an AMAZINGLY complex show... these folks are putting on a huge stage show with recording-session-like precision. Seriously, if you like drums, from this same concert (Wacken 2013) I'd recommend Romanticide, or Storytime, or Song of Myself Some of the NWArmy might consider it "jumping ahead", but you could also listen to the 2015 Live-at-Tampeire version of 'Weak Fantasy' to get a sample of Kai. While some might think there is a preferred order to listening to this band (it reveals band-memeber capabilities in a sequence, as it can get a bit overwhelming), I personally think :This is YOUR path of discovery of the band. You take it the way you want.Make it your own 'journey', not someone else's. BTW, y'all said "Mosh Pit" like it was a scary thing. Modern metal mosh pits are generally pretty safe, from a tissue-damage point of view. It's pretty rare to run into someone totally out of control, unless they are drunk. Of course, being female in amongst a group of males intent on bumping into you comes with it's own set of concerns - keep your elbows up, pointed forward a bit (aka the Courtney LaPlante stage-mic-in-the-pit method), and your hands curled into fists just at the collar bone level.. the universal Metal sign for "grab me and you're gonna lose some teeth". Have fun with the band, and enjoy the ride down the rabbit hole. Blind Doc Jones Nightwish Medical Tent, Oro-Facial Reconstruction Division, Oregon Regiment, (former engineer and musician as well)
If someone hasn't already told you, there were 82,000 fans at that show! One of you got goose bumps, we call that a Floorgasim! 😮 😂 Expect the Nightwish Army to visit your channel!
Hello middle aged ladies! I’m a middle aged lady from the Netherlands (yep, same country as Nightwish singer Floor), and I love watching ppl respond to Nightwish, especially this song because it’s so epic, and showcases not only Nightwishes talent, but also the enormous range of Floor’s voice. Anyway, I have some tips for you: In 2019, Floor sang the song off Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort, on a show called “Beste zangers”. He is an opera and musical singer, and when Floor grew up, he was her idol. Since the Phantom, they did more duets, and Henk sang along with the band during one or two concerts. Another tip, something completely different: Prejudice by Tim Minchin. He’s a comedian and incredible songwriter and pianist. Bo Burnham was inspired by him. One more: If you don’t hate French music (apparently, some people do), you could react to Je suis malade by Lara Fabian (another amazing female voice), or Stromae, a Belgian artist with Rwandan roots, who makes brilliant edm songs with deep lyrics and African beats. I would advise you to start with “Formidable” or “Tous les mêmes”.
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! 6'1'' Dutch Valkyrie Goddess spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! This is called Symphonic Metal !!! Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy. Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon (Second singer of Nightwish after Tarja) as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour (And she had to learn the setlist in 48h). On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. And the master of this magic is: Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics. He also composes the music for the backing track they use. It is recorded in London with musicians from The London Philharmonics. Pip Williams helps with the orchestration. There are two London based choirs too on the backing track, the other one is a children's choir. And of course with a synth you can do a lot. This was recorded at the 2013 Wacken (pronounced Vahken) Open Air festival in Germany in front of an audience of 82,000 people (one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany). The fiery bull head is the symbol of the festival. We hope, that there is more coming. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
TSO does in fact have singers, a bunch of them. For a few concerts they had Kayla Reeves who performed 'Someday' and oh my lord, not only do they have singers, some of them are truly stellar. They have a bunch of other singers, but Kayla is the one that will always stick with me, her performance of Someday is so emotive I get retroactive chills just remembering it.
WOW, so surprised there are still people out there who have not heard of Nightwish!!! Something else I think you would really like is HAVASI - 'Golden Eagle' live in Budapest.
Part 1 Hi Ladies ,I really enjoyed & appreciate your reaction, there are many great female vocalist in the world, then there are a few exceptional ones ,then there is Floor Jansen, Floor Jansen formerly of AfterForever & ReVamp who in 1999 started attending the Rock Academy in Tilburg and then at the National Conservatory in the Netherlands. She then went on to study & trained in musical theatre and also attended opera lessons for a year., for your indulgence and reference I offer my list for you , cheers, Welcome to the best band and female vocalist of our time, I know bold statement but if you take the journey you will understand ,the YT fan base is massive, passionate & very active, 80% of which is for the Floor era,she stepped in Oct 2012 ,and has been their 3rd,current & "Final" vocalist ,GLS is the epitome of Symphonic Metal with more of a classical influence as is many of their compositions but many from this concert are much heavier ,also GLS is the most reacted to song on YT ever with several vocal coaches having over 2.5 Million views .But this was but a very small taste of what Floor & NW has in store for you. As someone who started listening to Nightwish and Floor with her 1st band AfterForever 20 yrs ago I offer My song list recommendations below which is solely focused on the singer you just saw & heard, cheers **there are 2 pivotal events since Floor Jansen came aboard NW in late 2012 #1 Wacken 2013 - #2 Beste Zangers 2019 at this popular Dutch tv show filmed on Ibiza some top Dutch singers past & present get together and the person on the center couch for the day has one of their songs or a song that has meaning to them sung back to them reinterpreted by the other singers, novel idea . Well done, ladies. Great reaction 👍. Always a pleasure to see the reaction of new ears 👂 👂👂 And thank you 😊. This magical band deserves every ear they can get ❤️ Greetings from the Netherlands, the Hague 🤘
I have a very good feeling that all of you lovely young ladies will enjoy NIghtwish music. There are so many more to experience. Some heavier, some softer, all of them with amazing vocals and melodies. Gabriel Bardac, (below) the Romanian general of the Nightwish army will provide you with all the information and suggestion required to continue this amazing journey into the soundscape of Nightwish and the Dutch Queen of symphonic metal Floor Jansen. Hope to see you all again very soon. 🙏🙏
Greetings Ladies from Perth Western Australia division of the Nightwish Army....Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish performances and I can't wait to see what you explore next 😁
Subbed with Home Free, now here for Nightwish. Private Jenkins, Utah USA Nighwish Army reporting for duty. Ooooooh, you have opened a Pandora's box with this one. LET'S GO!
All I can say is... fasten your seat-belts because you ladies are about to enter a beautiful journey. Nightwish is not just a band, it's an experience. They are super talented and very humble. I have subscribed, and will be waiting for your next reaction on this journey called Nightwish. Greetings from Alabama😎
I've been amusing myself watching all of the reactions to this masterpiece. Gen X Ohio-born woman here who got introduced to Nightwish fifteen years ago. This band introduced me to my favorite band, Epica, via the Genius feature in iTunes. Then I found After Forever because the founder of Epica had been a cofounder of After Forever. Their singer was one Floor Jansen. I immediately had a massive girl-crush on her and have been a fan ever since. When she joined Nightwish, I was ecstatic because she’s so perfect for their works. Glad that you enjoyed this performance, and enjoy listening on your commute. 🤘🏻😎
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "

Those goosebumps you get when Floor sings is called a "Floorgasm".
dam near every time I hear this song.
Technically it's called Frisson, but let's go with Floorgasm.
I swear they would take a break until she gets well, but damn I was wrong, she's doing it pregnant, it's insane!
@@Branwhin She sings like that because she wants to.
Their first ride of the day!

Welcome to the world of Nightwish. For me (one of) the greatest band on the earth. Check out more stuff, you won't regret
They are definitely the greatest
theY are my favourite for some years. i also appreciate Queen and Pinkfloyd in earlier days.
Mute your microphones ladies. You mics are picking up the playback. Great reaction.
You've never heard Dimash sing then obviously.
But I do consider Floor as the best female hard rock singer on the planet.
@@garykeeling2275 Instead of Scandinavian you can safely say Nordic which includes Finland and Iceland.
Something cool to me is that Floor's husband Hannes is the drummer for Sabaton another of my favorite bands. Love. It.

Nightwish aren't just a band. They're a spiritual journey.

ladies you will be blown away by the song THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
This was song 13 of a 15 song set. How you could still have that much energy after playing that many songs is beyond me, I'm exhausted just watching them play 1 song ! My suggestion for next nightwish song is either "ever dream" or "last ride of the day" from this same concert wacken 2013! Keep up the good work ladies
I think Ever Dream was the second Nightwish song I heard after this one and it is a solid 2nd song. You got some soft Floor, some Power Floor, and a nice Marko introduction!
If you decide to go "Ever dream", I suggest the "End of an Era" live version. Remove socks before listening.
@@Hukka55 end of an era is very good, but wacken is roughly a 15 outta 10. The power is just sensational
It's not just holding the high note at the end which is amazingly difficult, but she also does it with all that power. She is ferocious.
Jukka is an absolute beast on percussion. Too bad he is unable to tour again.
I watched all three sets of eyes as Floor hit "the note." The same reaction everyone has. Even the dog was amazed.
Nothing beats seeing a first reaction to the Valkery queen and Nightwish. 🤘👍😁
The Floorgasm strikes once more
Goosebumps every time.
Floor marry me
when Tarja sang it, it was cool! Flor is simply trying to copy Tarja's performances, but his voice is not enough.
Holy shit! You guys picked my suggestion? That's awesome! Ok, back to the video lol.
I point this out because with the previous two singers, that's how both were terminated, by trying to overshadow the band and be the "big important lead singer for Nightwish" instead of "We are Nightwish."
After about 10 years together since forming in 1996, what had started out as a band formed by friends had devolved to the point that there was Nightwish (the band) and Tarja (the singer).
You could tell there was an immediate momentum shift, as throughout that concert, after Floor absolutely nailed the first two songs, they were smiling, giving each other looks like "holy shit, this is... this is what we were meant to sound like!"
At the time of Wacken 2013 (this concert and performance), Floor was still just the touring singer and had been with the band for just over 10 months.
Very humble lady despite her capabilities and a great team player. She's an Angel among other things. :)
Well, obviously, a Floor fan, but some valid remarks :-) I think Anette was the weakest of the three, but I would not dare to compare Tarja and Floor, although I prefer Nightwish with Floor :-)
@@talaniel Good, because Tarja and Floor are friends and respect each other. The VERY LEAST that real fans can do is respect both of them.
It's true.
Tuomas had SO many gifted instruments to use in his compositions.
It's a good thing he was gifted enough to properly use them.
@@FilPol-yu1es Calm down !!! There is nothing wrong with giving info on the history of the band!
That was a fun reaction! Welcome to the world of Nightwish and symphonic metal. Glad ya'll had a good time checking it out!
Nightwish Army - Coastal Carolina division checking in. Great reaction ladies. Nightwish will never disappoint and no two songs are the same.
HA!!!!!!!!!!! I got here before "Gabriel" First time. Love Floor such a performer.
75 here
then add sabaton with floors husband and you have some SERIOUSLY good music.
That was song # 13 of a 15 song set! I saw them this past year in the US, just amazing to see them live!
very cool reaction,
greetings from the Nightwish Army from Germany :-)
Nightwish with Floor on vocals is just something amazing!
when Tarja sang it, it was cool! Flor is simply trying to copy Tarja's performances, but his voice is not enough.
In no particular order, some European metal bands to listen to, plus a Canadian and a Mongolian one thrown in for good measure:
- Sabaton (Swedish) "Christmas Truce" a very poignant song about the truce between German, British and French troops during Christmas 1914 in the First World War.
I love the quote, "singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants."
Another good one is Lunautica
Indeed she is an amazing and versatile singer, but you were probably assuming that because you've never listened to a man named Rowan London, check it out, his band is called Virgin Black.
You’ve never heard Dimash I’m guessing
Love Nightwish & Floor, saw them live last year in Minneapolis, unreal experience!
I was at that show too. It was a total blast!
@@agyar68 Me too! An amazing night!.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she
got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power
of her vocals.
Hope to see more NW reactions, Storytime or Ever Dream, same concert!
Great reaction to one of the worlds best bands.
Hail to the Queen, the Poet, the Riff-maker, the Groove master, the Piper of Heaven and to the Beat Lord ! Nightwish Army Italy present !
welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive).
this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).
She wanted a cello and a violin. She got an entire orchestral/metal extravaganza 😅 There's no going back now, ladies ❤
Nightwish is amazing! If you have not heard and seen their version of Phantom of the Opera it is a MUST.
Yes, how is it possible that so many sounds can come out from just one person?
Instruments. Singing. Whoa. A very concise and accurate reaction. The Nightwish army, I'm sure, approves, and we would be disappointed if you did not continue down the rabbit hole. May I suggest "Storytime" (my fave) next? The live version from Wacken open air 2013.
the North German Division of the Nightwish Army reports !! We are there. special greetings to the General of the Army > Gabriel Bardac <

I don't know how many subscribers you had before, but once this Nightwish Army sees this, you might be getting that subscriber plaque pretty soon.
you could also try: After Forever (Floor's 1st band) with Dreamflight and Revamp (Floor's 2nd band) with Disdain....you'll like it I think/hope
Don't forget her work with Aryeon and Star One as well. 😅
Floor Jansen is a Sherman Tank of a vocalist. She has such training and experience that she is note-perfect every single night.
Yes. There was a time for Tarja, then Anette and now Floor and i think nowadays Floor is truly amazing 💯🔥
I really hope you check out more Nightwish in the future. They have a massive catalogue for you to go through.
Hello
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands.
Live performances are almost always the best with Nightwish. They are an amazing band, with a vast catalog of great songs.
BTW ladies Floor is 6'1" about 200lbs. She has training in rock pop Classical/Opera and Symphonic Metal which this song is.
I love how the 🐕 had to get in on the fun! 😎
Very nice reaction, hope you will do another one from Nightwish. The fun fact is, not one song sounds the same! And their live performances are the best. Happy journey. New subscriber here, from the Netherlands.
Saw them in Stockholm 10 days ago. Floor is pregnant 😃 Basket ball size. Nice reaction ladies.
Middle aged...damned i am old(54), you are young charming Ladies! Chase, who else :)
Very funny and refreshing hearing and seeing what you are expecting.
Floor for sure dont try outperforming:) in The Mix she is very dominant, but be assured, down in the Turf, you hear them as an united Force:)
The Crowd were about up to 82k, and as the Band is there since 1996, their Tracks are surely known by the Fans:)
It was Song 13 of an 15 Song Set.
The rest will come from my Comrades, would love to see another reaction to Nightwish, Ladies.)
Stay healthy

I think it's time for a little story..
.it's definitely Storytime!! Great reaction. Every song is different and every song is amazing.
Drummers are so underrated. It's sweat city behind there.
Very powerful performance. So glad you enjoyed this! Floor is a powerhouse!
Nice reaction ladies, hope you would do some more Nightwish. Storytime from this same concert.
Greetings from the Nightwish army in New York 🤗 Prepare for an army of new subscribers! I like you're style, very different and relaxed. Go ahead and jump in to that rabbit hole, it only gets better from here 😁 Much, much more Nightwish please.
82 thousand people, 1 goddess and 3 epic musicians. And you got it Foorgasam ( and it was her 1st performans in that band in front of audience).
Hanna, in Metal music, drums are a KEY player (not just 'keeping the beat', but an active instrument all on it's own).
Nightwish has enjoyed having two amazing drummers, both of whom are still connected to the band:
- Jukka Nevalainen is seen here in this (AMAZING) 2013 concert at Wacken Open Air.
Seriously, if you like drums, from this same concert (Wacken 2013) I'd recommend Romanticide, or Storytime, or Song of Myself
Some of the NWArmy might consider it "jumping ahead", but you could also listen to the 2015 Live-at-Tampeire version of 'Weak Fantasy' to get a sample of Kai.

One of you got goose bumps, we call that a Floorgasim! 😮 😂
Expect the Nightwish Army to visit your channel!
Anyway, I have some tips for you:
In 2019, Floor sang the song off Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort, on a show called “Beste zangers”.
And the master of this magic is:
Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish)
Tuomas the keyboardist writes about 95% of Nightwish songs, music and lyrics.
Hi Ladies, I had fun watching your reaction. subscribed to be part of your Nightwish journey. Greetings from germany 🤘🔥♥️
Is not a concert but an experience of greatness.
Three more angels led into our Night wish heaven. We're glad you could join us.
UK Army popping in for a great first reaction
TSO does in fact have singers, a bunch of them. For a few concerts they had Kayla Reeves who performed 'Someday' and oh my lord, not only do they have singers, some of them are truly stellar. They have a bunch of other singers, but Kayla is the one that will always stick with me, her performance of Someday is so emotive I get retroactive chills just remembering it.
the \../ hand symbol is the "rock on" or sign of the horns symbol. It's colloquially a "F*** Yea I'm loving it" sorta thing at concerts.
WOW, so surprised there are still people out there who have not heard of Nightwish!!! Something else I think you would really like is HAVASI - 'Golden Eagle' live in Budapest.
Proud soldier of the Nightwish Army welcoming you to the ranks!
Thanks, that was fun. FYI: That fiery longhorn skull is a symbol of the Wacken Open Air festival, not Nightwish.
Part 1
Hi Ladies ,I really enjoyed & appreciate your reaction, there are many great female vocalist in the world, then there are a few exceptional ones ,then there is Floor Jansen, Floor Jansen formerly of AfterForever & ReVamp who in 1999
started attending the Rock Academy in Tilburg and then at the National Conservatory in the Netherlands. She then went on to study & trained in musical theatre and also attended opera lessons for a year., for your indulgence and reference I offer my list for you , cheers,
Welcome to the best band and female vocalist of our time, I know bold statement but if you take the journey you will understand ,the YT fan base is massive, passionate & very active, 80% of which is for the Floor era,she stepped in Oct 2012 ,and has been their 3rd,current & "Final" vocalist ,GLS is the epitome of Symphonic Metal with more of a classical influence as is many of their compositions but many from this concert are much heavier ,also GLS is the most reacted to song on YT ever with several vocal coaches having over 2.5 Million views .But this was but a very small taste of what Floor & NW has in store for you.
As someone who started listening to Nightwish and Floor with her 1st band AfterForever 20 yrs ago I offer My song list recommendations below which is solely focused on the singer you just saw & heard, cheers
**there are 2 pivotal events since Floor Jansen came aboard NW in late 2012 #1 Wacken 2013 - #2 Beste Zangers 2019 at this popular Dutch tv show filmed on Ibiza some top Dutch singers past & present get together and the person on the center couch for the day has one of their songs or a song that has meaning to them sung back to them reinterpreted by the other singers, novel idea .
Floor opened the show with the 1st song below and just blew everyone's mind, only two of the other singers knew who Floor was but none of them had heard her sing with such versatility, after the 8 day run of the show Floor's & NW's popularity soared, stadiums filled up and ticket sales shot up.btw since Floor joined NW & after this show NW's fan base has tripled . on Mama by Samantha S.Floor completely changes the tempo and song structure ,the song is about Samantha wanting to be more like her Mom, Que Se Siente by Rolf is originally a merenge ,mambo type song so of course Floor does it her way,Winner by Tim A. he wrote for his brother who has Spina Bifida,
About Love ,Ruben wrote about his parents divorce.
