I have The Seneca. I'm not a cowboy, live in Ohio,but I enjoy the western hat. Always have. I'm almost 50 and don't have time to worry about what people say or think about a piece of headwear.
Used to wear cowboy hates from my youth till Jr High School, then quit. Now I'm older and at the advice of my foreman at work to go back to wearing one. Foreman recently got skin cancer since our work is outside work, along with half my shop they have skin cancer also. So my hat are actually WORK hats and not for show like most are. Got a Shantung straw that I'm wearing now for summer and getting the Stetson Powder River for the Fall and Winter. Might as well buy a true functioning hat from Stetson that also looks classy.
I just started wearing my Akubra Kiandra out around town (mountains of northern Cali) I've never been made fun of although that was my biggest fear. So many compliments. I can't wait to get a Stetson next
I was on the Stetson waiting list for a few weeks and jumped on it when they let me know these were available. I still like my open road and boss of the plains. Powder River is a good compromise between dress and work. I did add a wider leather band.
Just bought the black stetson buffalo I love it got it at mcallen tx boot barn for 173$ with tax good price and good quality love it!!!!!!! Now planning to save up for a gray one😇
I've always wanted a Stetson hat. I bought this Powder River hat last fall as my first ever and absolutely love it. It is the most comfortable hat I've ever worn. The fit is amazing. I was so excited when I saw you did this video on it. Nicely done. I plan to get more of the buffalo line. It's so hot here this summer so I'm wearing a straw hat, but I'm anxiously waiting for cool weather to start wearing this hat again. Thanks for the video. 👍
Hey Wingman, good call on this hat. I've had it for quite a while now and its my favorite, even though I have several more expensive, or higher felt content hats, this one is my best all-rounder for daily wear. I get LOTS of compliments on it every time I go out. I appreciate your recommendation!

After watching this video I realized I wanted one of these hats ! I found one on ebay , and bought . It fits like a glove ! ( however when I got it , it was too hot to wear it ! ) If You have a smallish vehicle , be careful wearing it in it .
I got the powder river a few years ago as a sunday dress hat and a ravenger as a work hat. Im thinking of getting a daily use hat too. Maybe ill get another from the buffalo collection. Nice video.
55 Years ago on a Thursday night I would get my uniform and Stetson ready for Scouts .A damp tea towel on your Stetson and iron it very carefully makes her look like new. I ironed my shirt and scarf while mother gave directions .

I think I need this hat! I have a few higher end stetsons but want a more rugged daily hat and this may be it. Too worried everytine I wear my 10x open road in silver belly
Personally went with the corral although second choice was the powder river. Have a custom rodeo king with a bound edge. Come summer though a good resistol straw hat is hard to beat. Keep cool and cowboy up!
I’ve never owned a cowboy hat, or even considered one as I’m not a cowboy. Not interested in being a cowboy poser, as I think a hat make a statement. After this, I’m reconsidering my point of view. These hats are stellar.

There are a lot of great straw hats with a ton of ventilation to keep the head cool. I wear a few Resistol and PROHATS also Atwood depends on the event.

I have a similar hat that I have worn for 30 + years. You forgot the most important reason to lay the hat on the crown. It is like a horse shoe mounted to the wall. It keeps the luck in it.
Great detailed video! I have this and the apache in my online cart. After reading a lot of online reviews, some claim the Powder River says 100% wool inside. Is this true with yours?
Anything that doesn’t have a blend of beaver fur in it will be considered wool but that doesn’t change the characteristics of this hat buffalo fur is very water resistant and it wears very well.
I'm a fan ! i was looking for a nice hat myself but I can't find the one i want in my country because i live in the Netherlands... Yes we can buy some Stetson hats over here but its only European models, they are small and no traditional ones at all. The one I'm looking for to buy is the Stetson 11 Stageline (part of Stetson's John Wayne collection) and i can't even import it because of import restrictions from my stupid country. Sinds i was a little boy I loved Western movies and horses, I collected as many western movies and tv shows as I could and still am by the way. The hat you are wearing in this video also looks really great ! But whatever I do, and believe me i have turned the internet upside down still there is no way I can buy and import a real nice hat from the USA. I'm a 54 old fart (Dutch) from the Netherlands and stumbled on your channel because guess what ? I was trying to get my hands on it again, sigh..., and again no luck. This is my go to utility hat. Been holding up great.
I am completely diggin’ on that Broken bow but I can’t find it on the Stetson website.
I wanted that one, but I ended up with Whitmore. It looks similar to the Powder River- not sure what the difference is.

Pretty much the same as my other felt hats they can get warm but it is one of the most comfortable hats I own.

does buffalo fur shrink bad when wet?
Will shrink a bit. When not in use I put a hat jack inside to hold its shape.
