Great tutorial, for the volume and velocity part it is not the same, the velocity is how har/soft the instrument is played, for example a piano depending on how hard you press the keys, usually in digital music it's the instrument that have to support velocity, for example kontakt libraries wich are usually made of recordings on multiple velocity, but sometime the DAW just map the velocity to just volume (usually in synth like serum if the preset is not made with velo in mind)
Thanks a lot for starting this series. Already learned a lot from the lessons. Concerning the keyboard layout (10:22): Just go to the Renoise user manual and go to the first entry under "Song Construction": "Playing Notes with the Computer Keyboard" (posted the link here before but YT apparently doesn't like that and deleted my comment).
That's a good idea for a series, even tho I'm not a beginner I can certainly appreciate the content, it will sure be important for a lot of people starting.
@@MrZensphere Great tutorial mate. Going give it a go. I'm into glitch experimental music. Need the randomisation aspects. Love the cut off bit of Renoise. Got the Polyend Tracker but it's very limited compared to what this is. Thanks mate. See you on the other side 😳😳😳🤣🤣
at 20:50 - How did you insert so many to quickly? I am dragging each sample over from the sample window into the Track but you seem to be pasting them? i cant figure out how to copy paste them
I was just recording notes into the pattern. There were no samples involved at that timestamp. Hit escape to enable recording, then input note by holding down the proper key on the keyboard. Z in this case. The key repeat on the keyboard fills notes quickly. Hope this helps
Loving this series Mr Z! Even though I'm pretty familiar after years of messing about, I'm always open to more tips like this series. You & Groovin in G keeping the Renoise community fresh and alive to new users and veterans alike. Would be great if you moved off your overlay at certain sections, or flash it up from time to time. A little distracting and covers some sections.
@@spaceiswater6539 thanks! Yes, you can have as many tracks as you like in renoise, I believe. Mayyyybe it's capped at 256, but I think it's as many as your computer can handle
Very clear explanations. Wish I would have sound this first

It's a crime of youtube to keep channels like this non-recommended.
