  • Here a demonstration video on how to turbine wash an ABB TSP44-F32 Turbocharger. Which is in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
    Key Notes:
    ABB TSP44-32 Turbocharger
    Exhaust turbine water washing is performed with its set parameters to be effective and prevent damage. This cleaning procedure involves thermal-shocking to remove carbon deposits and it's only applicable to this kind of turbocharger design.
    Set Parameters:
    Exhaust Temperature: 400 to 450 degree Celcius
    Engine Load: 20% to 40%
    Water Pressure: Above 0.2 Mpa
    Duration: 3 times - 15-30 seconds (depending on the turbocharger performance)
    Always refer your manufacturer's turbocharger instruction manual for proper turbine washing cleaning

    Hi. After waterwashing the turbine side of the generator the exhaust inlet temperature going to turbocharger become higher and now the turbocharger is whistling. I followed the same procedure since it's also Yanmar and it has same instruction in the manual. Should I waterwash again or could it get worse?

      @@D-solut you could do it again.
      If things get worse better to check the turbocharger by opening up. Discuss it with your chief engineer for proper disassembly procedure.

    What about drain line? Abb usually have it and before turbine cleaning need to check if it clean.

      For this ABB model, it doesn't have any drain lines, and its operation - maintenance manual is not mentioned any drain lines. Yes, there are some model turbochargers that have drain lines that must be checked for the accumulation of carbon deposits that could clog the drain.

    1.should the turbocharger switched off if it needs to do this process?
    2.if the tc switched off, also the engine too right ? or just tc ?
    3.your experience its so meanfull, thanks !

      Turbo Charger washing in the process is needed to be in operation.
      unless turbocharger is for overhaul the engine must be shut down and cooled down.

      Why is the turbocharger exhaust temperature after turbo lower than temperature before turbo when the engine is running on load.

    • @balanayharry
      @balanayharry  3 года назад

      @@ayandamkhize860 The turbine is a power developing device. As the high pressure exhaust is directed on the blades, it's kinetic energy is converted into the rotation of turbine blades by providing a thrust to them, this leads to drop in pressure and temperature. ... then as the pressure decreases the temperature decreases.

    Is the generator in service or connect? Or disconnect in bus while doing turbine wash?

    • @balanayharry
      @balanayharry  Год назад

      Its already connected and partially serviced at 20% to 40% load.
