  • Hey everyone, today marks my first video as an RN!!! I seriously cannot explain how in disbelief I am that I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions. I always knew I would pass, but never anticipated doing so in the minimum amount of questions. I hope this video was helpful to you all and I know everyone single one of you can pass the NCLEX. Remember, it is a safety test!

Don't forget to check out the description box - I have linked the tools I used :)
I also want to say my last semester of nursing school consisted of 6 exams (75 Qs each)
    1 - Cardiac + Respiratory
    2 - GI/GU + Renal
    3 - Neuro + Musk
    4 - Mental Health
    5 - OB
    6 - Peds
and 3 HESI exams (pre, exit I and exit II) along with 1 final paper/presentation!
Watch this video if you want to see how I studied in my last semester: ruclips.net/video/oHbtWXCPSFM/видео.html

I passed my NCLEX two weeks ago. I 100% agree with everything that you said in this video. The game changer was writing down the rationales from Uworld. Doing as many questions as possible and reading those rationales is key! Good luck to everyone getting ready to take it!

Milbia thanks a million for sharing this video. I watched it more than five time before taking my NCLEX. I needed to listen to it that many times because I wanted to be sure how to answer questions not just correctly but also managing my time well. Like you I used UWorld and Hurst Review, both were excellent. Having heard what you said about time, I slowed myself down on August 15, 2022 when I took my NCLEX. I read each question twice before picking my answer. I was cut off at 76 and against you warning, I panicked thinking that I failed, but lo and behold when I check NCSBN quick result yesterday, I passed. Thank for sharing your video once again.

There are so many videos of "How To Pass The NCLEX in 75 Questions" and I'm here to tell you from experience, when it shuts off at 75 questions, trust me, you are NOT celebrating, you actually begin to panic. Your first thought is "WAIT! I'm not finished"...then you think, "OMG! All it took was 75 questions for them to decide that I am NOT ready to be a nurse".
I'll be honest with you, I have NO idea how I passed the NCLEX. I felt like I guessed on at least half of the questions and it felt like the other half were all SATA. I kid you not, I would have put all the money I had on the fact that I failed, but I didn't. I passed.
My point is this: you are given NO indication, whatsoever of whether you passed or failed the exam. Whether it shuts off at 75 or you answer all 145 questions, you will not walk out feeling good about it. The one plus side to taking the exam is that there is MORE than enough time to take the exam so you're not going to be rushed. You can take the time to think through each question.
The best advice I can give you is #1 Manage your anxiety. However you do it, whatever technique you use, manage your anxiety....and #2 Watch "NCLEX Test Taking Skills" videos and use every test taking skill you can learn, for example, "first vs best questions", "priority questions", "Pharmacology" and "SATA". I'm telling you, test taking skills will go a long way with the NCLEX. Good luck, and remember, don't give up!

Just passed my nclex feb 9th! Hit 145 questions, 5th attempt. Last 10 questions SATA and diagrams. So nerve racking. I did both Uworld and Kaplan. UWORLD, Hands down the questions are tailored to help you learn so read those rationals even if you got it right durong practice tests. Kaplan helped with decision tree tactics. MK lectures were on point though somestuff was not NCSBN lab values, i went with board lab values . I was torn after exam didnt shut off at 75, but kept going. Test got harder and harder. I remember guessing on a really hard question, next question was an even harder SATA. Discipline yourself to get through this, stop making excuses that its too hard of an exam (you knew that it was going to difficult from the beginning). So give it your all.

Hi Milbia! So glad that I found you :) I will definitely be keeping everything that you said in my hip pocket. I will "hopefully" be graduating in August 2023. My instructor has us practice with ATI and Saunders Comprehensive Review. When we graduate, we have to take a total of 5 mock NCLEX tests. My biggest fear is select all that apply questions because I never do well with those. I get a little bit overwhelmed with what I should focus on and how to accomplish everything for the NCLEX.

Hi Milbia, I just found out I failed my first attempt at the NCLEX. I did Uworld. I have a quick question after reading the rationales, what part of the rational did you write down? The entire "explanation" or just the "educational Objective"? I need to retake it and I am trying to prepare for the second round a lot better than I did the first time.

    • @Milbia
      @Milbia  2 года назад +1

Hi Ana, I'm sorry that you failed your first attempt. I'm sure you will do great on your 2nd attempt. EVERYONE seems to have the same questions about whether writing the entire rationale or the educational objective and there is NO RIGHT ANSWER. Some questions you may need to write a bit more than others (depending on your knowledge). I would integrate parts of the educational objective and other parts of the rationale that I did not know or that I found helpful!
After a while, there were certain topics that were repeated and I felt like I already knew what they were trying to get me to know so I would just add on to my previous note about that topic rather than re-writing the same info again.
I hope this helped! Definitely try alternative resources if you feel like uworld was not as helpful as you hoped.

Hi!! When studying UWorld how exactly did you study the questions by section? Did you do each of the systems (like respiratory, endocrine, newborn...) or did you do it by the subject (like adult health, critical care, fundamentals...). Just curious as to how to best compartmentalize the questions-thanks!!

Hi, I don’t have diagnosed ADD. I just said that my brain is sort of “very sporadic and ADHD like” but I don’t have a diagnosis.
I completely understand you though, I definitely recommend talking to your provider and getting checked out to see if you do have some sort of attention deficit problem. honestly, I was studying like 6-7 hours a day for that same reason - because I get distracted so easily, that that’s how long it would take me to do like 120 questions max and learn the rationales

So right now I'm around 1/3 done with Uworld and using it mostly to build up my content knowledge since I'm weak on it (Its been around a year since I graduated). I was planning on purchasing Archer after finishing the entire Uworld bank once, since I hear Archer was also vague and maybe use it to practice my test taking skills, but now people said that it's a scam?? I'm very confused on what to do now. Should I purchase Archer or Princeton Review (since Princeton bought a lot of questions from NCSBN) after I'm done with Uworld? Or should I just go over the entire Uworld bank twice?

I personally would not feel comfortable doing a bunch of practice questions if I’m still lacking on material because questions can only help you so much. it also depends how much time you have to study but I wish you the best of luck!! I definitely recommend going over the basic fundamentals, infectious diseases and to know the big diseases (meds, signs and symptoms, interventions, etc) for each section of uworld

GIRL!! Love this video that you made!
There are definitely iffy areas that I was unsure about, like mark k, and using Barbara’s study guide, but you clarified it for me! I have that Barbara study guide as well but haven’t really looked at it, but after what you said, I’ll definitely read it now 🤓.
So happy for you and congrats on the pass!! 🫶🏻
