I can't believe Otis and Ruby didn't end up together. The only thing I can hope for is that they bring them back in the spin-off and they finally become endgame.
Even though this is just wishful thinking, I would love to see something like this!! Especially if the show's creator; Laurie Nunn eventually recognizes what she did right with Otis & Ruby. I know she said that Otis & Maeve could possibly reconnect in 10 years, but there is a reason why she didn't include that in the show itself. It's left open-ended for the audience to decide on what Otis does next, whether he chooses to move on from Maeve, pursue Ruby and work hard to earn her trust back, or remain single until he reunites with Maeve. Laurie Nunn is well aware that there are a lot of people who wanted to see Otis & Ruby become the endgame, instead of Otis & Maeve. So it's possible in time she'll be able to reevaluate the two dynamics!

Ruby and Otis relationship was more natural. Otis with Maeve was uptight. Rubby 100%. By the way, Mimi Keene is a very good actress, a bit underrated. I keep my fingers crossed for her.
You know I was really angry at the writers for not giving Rotis shipness justice, grhh!!, sigh.... you know the way to fix this is too imagine that the current mishaps that Otis and Ruby's relationship is at the end of Season 4, is just a phase you know hopefully, maybe you can even think of it this way, perhaps getting into a serious relationship (Otis and Ruby) this early on during college might not be good per say, maybe sometimes in the future they will meet again as an adult, maybe they'd walk together in the forest talking about how silly the past was for the both of them and they sat in their car parked where they had their first fight in the car during their teenage years, and then and there they kiss, and thus begin a journey into their adult love story where eventually they will marry and live happily ever after :D
Yh the writers were really f*king up his character it's like one season he would grow and the next he would regress to learn the same thing he learnt the previous season just for the drama they want.
I think they wanted to write a crappy side story with Rotis, just in passing. But it turns out to be the one relationship that is good for each other. When you said that they seem more themselves with each other, it rings true. All this trauma just so he couldn't end up with anyone, I guess there is a lesson there, still hoping that in another universe we got season 5 and Rotis was end game. 🤍
