St. Thomas Redevelopment highlights all the positive happenings within and around the parish off St. Thomas that is of historical and cultural values.
Often referred to as the forgotten parish, St. Thomas not only boasts exotic water venues such as Raggae Falls, Bath Fountain and Roselle Falls, but also rich historical buildings such as the Old Morant Bay Court House. There, the blood of many freedom fighters were shed in 1865, which was later known as the Morant Bay Rebellion.
St. Thomas is the most easterly parish in Jamaica with estimated population of 98,000 to 150,000 pupils.
It has lush vegetation, mountain range and vast agricultural lands and and abundance of natural resource.

😁😁😊😊I really enjoyed the journey Winston, the greenery was priceless.
Seem like all the roads in St Thomas needs resurfacing or total redevelopment. St Thomas has been neglected for way too long. Thanks for video.
You are welcome, indeed majority of the roads need to be resurface.
Respect for d video. Good job. This video brings back memories... I remember taking this road to Portland with my wife several times... Beautiful girl, beautiful parish!
Wow!!! This is so sentimental, I am really happy knowing this video reminds you of your wife. Thank you so much for your feedback Jermaine. 😊
I do hope the Government will continue improving the roads. Love your presentation. That is my place .
Yes my friend 🤗 they are making steady progress.. Lots of progress being made.
This is my area now. I grew up in Duckenfield on the sugar estate up until age 12. The roads look the same but we are soooo ready for change and good investments. Can’t wait to see it soon 🤗
Look out for the video of your area this coming Tuesday Yagga.. i
It will be fun.
Fantastic definitely St.Thomas and Portland the most amazing parishes
National beauty
Indeed ONeil thank you so much for the feedback and welcome the the St.Thomas Redevelopment family.😊
My Family Roots are from St.Thomas in all the days of my youth (Been Visiting since the early 80s ) I’ve never really traveled the length of the parish, the farthest being Bowden.I’m making it a mission God Willing to take that drive. Thank You for the inspiration Bro. ( I literally got goospimples watching the breathtaking views , I can just imagine in real time what it would be like.Jamaica as a whole is a Paradise like no other imo.and St.Thomas as the Birthplace of my Maternal Great Grandparents has served as a foundation for me growing up to further want to discover and unearth the beauty that lies within the soil. I Thank you for your work in providing Great Content regarding the development Project to those of us home and abroad and for those like me a descendant of the diaspora whose love for the Island, the People ,and Culture goes beyond face value. Continue the Great Work Bro. God Bless 🙏🏾
Wow!! I am humbled by your comments David. Comments like this always amazes me when a video can cause one to take a trip down memory lane and share it with not just me but others viewers. You are so descriptive in your writing and I enjoy reading everything you said.
Thank you so much👍🏽
Jamaica needs to develop its own type of road surfacing material using local agrigates. Asphalt is expensive so contractors are not using enough to surface the roads. Maybe a combination of Marl, concrete and crush gravel can be mixed used still not cheap but everything can be sourced locally. Asia has a lot of concrete roads.
Bwaaay!!! You hit the nail on its head drewski. Seems like you are a person of experience. Keep sharing the knowledge with my channel. Ha epic video coming Friday, look out for it and I need your feedback when it is published.
I use to walk through that short cut view you show of hellisons bay when me and my sister go there for the summer.
Nice!! Thank you so much for supporting the channel Cliasta, it means so much when I am able to take a family of the St.Thomas Redevelopment channel down memory lane. It give a sense of accomplishment as the video would have achieved its purpose.
I've heard good things about Portland. I think it Is indeed the most beautiful parish in Jamaica. Think it could be developed a little bit more for tourism
You can say that again Pete, sometime people are in position not because of aptitude but nepotism. As a result they lack vision.
St Thomas is bigger and just a beautiful
Very true.. The idiots running Jamaica are knuckle heads.
Oilnut
No we really don’t want all of that. The hideaways and off beaten gems is what separates Portland from every other parish; but I do agree roads needs to be re-done completely. Portland has always been a tourist hot spot for decades; some people are just late because of the fixation with the North Cost
THANKS @#ST.THOMASREDEVELOPMENT#@ FOR TAKING ME ALONG THE JOURNEY WITH YOU THE LADY,,,AND THE OTHER GENTLEMAN IN YOUR CAR...!!!😂😂😂👌✅✅✅💯💯😎
You are welcome Winston 🤣🤣😂🤣 they were camera shy 😁😁😂🤣 they man got cold feet when me call him name..
Thanks for the tour in st Thomas
You are most welcome Joan.
I went to that church on Happy Grove property for school when I was younger. It was called Happy Grove Prep School.

Wow bredrin! That was a trip! Thanks for beautiful drive. I know the entire route but haven't been through there in over 30 years. Actually been as far as Bowden in 1997 but not since. The plant you asked about is the Castor Oil plant. Happy Grove and Hennessy Bay still looking good. I notice that the buildings at Bowden Wharf are no longer there. Keep up the awesome work.🙏
Wow, I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I bought you on a journey that refreshed your memory Lloyd. 30 years is a very long time and its really impressive that you were able to recall past building. Thank you so much for you feedback my brother.

The first and only time I left st Thomas to go Portland while driving I taught I was lost the main road was so narrow luckily I saw a passenger bus was going Portland capital but I enjoy the trip to Boston and to visit my families in mount zion
😁😁😂😁 I never ment to laugh Henry, but but I had to when you say you thought you were lost.. Thank God that bus was there to bring you to your destination.
Yea the road was so narrow it never look like a main road

wonder how much gold and other resources in the earth of Jamaica....also i see lots of lime stone which is one of Jamaica's exported products.
JF that's a very good question and I have not seen any studies conducted to assess these possible deposits other than lime stone extracts.
I’ve gone to Bath in St Thomas, and that was a long drive but this looks like a different direction.
Never had a chance to see what the john crow mountain looks like I think they are In Portland
Yes it is Pete, the Johncrow Mountain shares part of St. Thomas and Portland
Yes it is Pete, the Johncrow Mountain shares part of St. Thomas and Portland

Definitely Pete, I want to do Bath especially the foundation.. but because of Covid19 the Gov close it..
I used to drive tractor trailer to Portland and back
Wow Paul!!! 😯 Thank for your contribution man. That kind of driving takes skill and no doubt contribute to nation building.
Best parish in Jamaica St.Thomas in the East, neglected yes, to benefit from the mistakes made in all the other parishes.
👏🏽 you are on the ball Beverly. We are finally making some progress.
That is where am from. Big up
Really my friend!! Wow, happy am able to bring in to your screen.. look out for another video going there next Tuesday.

Yea! If yuh scratch yuh backside all day!
I like what I am seeing
Correction I am from Saint Thomas and I love that parish but Portland is the most beautiful Parish in Jamaica the difference between Portland and most other tourist parishes is that the big hotels take up all the natural scenery so unless you're spending money you can't enjoy the beauty of those other Parish because the big hotels take buy out all the the front properties if they even bought it at all if it was not all given to them dirt cheap but with Portland you have a more natural undisturbed scene that everyone can enjoy without spending money that's why so many Europeans choose to live there or by Villas there because it is mostly undisturbed not commercialized even people in Saint Thomas they go to Portland more than going to the other parishes enjoy them self you don't need to travel 60 miles away when you are Portland right next door send Thomas is not a commercially is that a placed maybe only 25% that's not what it's for it is more a laid-back farming Agricultural Society so if you don't like that type of living it's not for you if you don't like mountains and rivers natural scenery is not for you maybe you should go back to town but the sad part about it is lots of people from Kingston are now coming into the parish because it's right next door to Kingston Saint Thomas is actually the how close is Paris to Kingston that is not a part of Kingston little known fact when people try to say it's country it's actually closer to Kingston than any other Parish because Kingston is made up of two parishes so you can't count them. Final note area where the police when driving behind you is my friends farm I go there a lot to get fruits that is my favorite part of Saint Thomas away from the Cedar Valley Hill. The Eastern part yallas is in the western part Southwestern part. Another historic fact about Saint Thomas most of the baddest man in Jamaica history came from Saint Thomas do a little research I'm not glorifying that type of lifestyle of course I don't see that. Good part of our history but like lots of people in Saint Thomas my original family Roots is from Portland not far from the saint Thomas border so it's all the same I guess
Wow, thank you so much for this feedback Paul. I enjoyed reading every bit of it as you touch on every aspect that is factual and relevant. I really can't thank you enough as this is the longest comment to date on this channel. I definitely look forward to bringing you even more unique contents.
Woulda love see White river Buff Bay still🇯🇲🇯🇲😎
That will be possible soon along with drone footage. 😊
@@st.thomasredevelopment Bing. Gonna subscribe from now. Thats where my family come from. Would love to show my kids them. Bless up.
Wow!!! Will definately make this a priority Ralf.
👏
Blessings Sianna🤗
I could just imagine that a lot of this road work have been destroyed by Zara.
I know of land selling there. If you are interested let me know it as rivers sea and coves. Before you reached under the rock that place is hectors river estate. I know there very well
Wow!!!! Please, please keep posting the availability of your land on in video comment section. Persons on who watch the channel has been asking about lands.
So nice to know I drove in the vicinity of where you use to live and most importantly it brought back memories.
that plant is oil nut tree
Pleasant morning!!! You😊 You and the baaaal!! A true Jamaica you know your plants Maurice.
That tree is what they called oil nut tree it makes Castor oil
Yes Melvina, you are on the ball😁
That plant is what we call OIL NUT
Doing! Doing! Doing! 😁 you are on the ball my friend. You are indeed a man of the soil, not many knows that plant.
Please note: Ken Jones Highway, not Winston Jones.
Also Innes Bay, not Hennessy Bay..
Oooh, thank you so much for the point of correction Delores. .... will definately correct that on my next trip
@@st.thomasredevelopment you are so very welcome.. Looking forward to your next video. You brought back a lot of beautiful memories for my family.
Castor oil plant or oil nut
Yeeeeees!!! 😁😁😂🤣😊😁😁 Robert. You know the thing.
Yea thats it!
Thanks
You are welcome Lorna, I am truely appreciative of your feedback.
The last time I was in Ja was 2016 and every once and a while I miss the beauty, food and the people. Due to the current pandemic I have to leave my next visit for next year sometime.
Thanks for what you doing, keep up the good work and I share your updates with family and friends.
Have a bless weekend.

@@lornawilson8726 Thank you so much for the best wishes and wish the same for you until then.
I know when you do return the experience even be sweeter.
thanks , how about from port morant to bath ,am from airy castle ,
Hey Steve, I'll be doing that leg soon. But I also want to involve the use of a drone when I do to capture the authentic beauty of the area.
caster oil plant .
Those roads really needs brushing, they can be so much wider,, wasnt the highway supposed to be from harbor view to port Antonio?
I am in total agreement with you. I don't believe out leaders are at the place where they build for the future. They are oftentimes creative.
good look my place
Thank you so much for the feedback
Man we need more updated information
That’s oil nut tree
Yes Sir, you are correct 👍🏽
I hope the development is not plagued with mismanagement. It is a great project and it is too bad the money has to come from the Chinese.... Please source your material from Jamaica and use reputable contractors... Do not let anyone build near the Marsh and or the harbour it will destroy the area....
I notice no traffic,, roads not too bad either
Well, it was a sunday afternoon the country so that probably the reaso why there was not much traffic.. but the area looks really beautiful
Have you seen how big St Thomas was before the slave Masters split St Thomas to make Portland and took the best part of it also part of St Mary so Portland is made from St Thomas and St Mary a piece of history there for who did not know
Yes, your are indeed correct Melvina as I have seen the map as to how the boundaries were in previous times. No doubt you are an historian and I truely appreciate this contribution to the channel so that other views may see and learn. Thank you so much!
@#ST.THOMASREDEVELOPMENT#@ I AM SEEING A LOT OF LAND OUT THERE MAN...FOR PROPER #CULTIVATION,,,AND MORE #SUGAR #FARMING ...AND JAMAICA NEEDS A MODERN SUGAR #FACTORY #PLANT FOR MODERN #SUGAR #PRODUCTION...THERE IS OF LAND TO CULTIVATE MANY DIFFERENT SEASONAL CROPS...🎋🌴🌳🌱!!!💯🌞👍😎✅
YES @ST.THOMASREDEVELOPMENT@ THAT PARISH SIGN IS A PROPER PARISH SIGN,,,AND I AGREED WITH YOU,,,IT IS THE BEST PARISH SIGN THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYWHERE IN JAMAICA...!!!⭐⭐🌞💯💯👍✅😎
I totally agree with you... there is so much land here that is owned that's basically doing nothing. Too much land to farm for us to be poor.
When I saw the sign Winston I had to pull over. I was professionally done.. looks very inviting.
Isn't that oilnut plant?
Yes it is.. it's the castor bean plant. Most locals use it to make castor oil for the treatment of hair.
What kind a genre you talking bout thats bush
Okay Rock Ofages and I can understand your perspective especially if you are living in and urban area. But be mindful, there are other who watch this channel who don't share your views an I also have to provide contents for persons who are in sync with nature.
Nonetheless, I appreciate your feedback.
The road is bad bad 👎 😫
Trace you can say that again, sometimes I feel depressed because I have to be constant changing gears, parts and more.. Welcome to the channel!!
Okay you need better roads to drive on anyway because it will cost you
You grab say that again!!!!!! If it's not tyres its shock... the whole front end works
Oil nut
😊yep, you are on point.
