Any news on the "Memories White Sands" resort next to the Iberostar? I see its available for booking via Hola Sun out of Toronto.

Hello, we do not yet have any information other than that found on the Blue Diamond and Hola Sun/Caribe Sol websites. The Sanctuary White Sands is supposed to open in March and will be an adults only resort.

Might anyone have knowledge about the beaches at the following: Sanctuary White Sands (Cayo Cruz), Vila Gale Cayo Paredon (Cayo Paredon), The One Gallery Hotel (Cayo Santa Maria), and Royalton Cayo Santa Maria (Cayo Santa Maria)?

When we last visited Cayo Paredon, the hotel was not yet built, but we found the beaches of Cayo Paderon absolutely stunning!!! with powdery white sand bathed by calm and crystal clear waters! We walked mostly the stretch called Playa Los Pinos. The Grand Aston resort is on the stretch of beach called Playa del Norte, we haven't walked on this beach but I saw it when I climbed to the top of the Linghouse (Faro El Paredon), and it seemed to be equally beautiful.

@@LilyNormand Thank you very much for your reply, it makes it easier to decide on the hotel. We once traveled to a new hotel without beach pictures and it was so rocky, my kids could not walk into the water and adults had to jump into the water from the dock. That's why I inquired, don't want to run into the same problem as we love to swim:). Also, do you think traveling on January 1st to that region we are risking weather and water being cold? Thank you in advance Normand, you are kind. Liza

Given that Cayo Paredon is located off the northern coast of Cuba, there is a greater risk of an occasional "cold " front (frente frio) between December and February, when temperatures can sometimes drop to around 15 ° C at night, so the evenings can be cool. These cold fronts rarely last very long, usually less than two days. When traveling during this time, it's wise to bring warmer clothes (sweater or light jacket) for the evenings, just in case.
      JANUARY
      Average High temperature: 27°C
      Average Low temperature: 17°C
      Average Sea temperature: 25 C
      Average Precipitation: 43 mm

Cayo Cruz, Cayo Paredon, Cayo Coco... are tourist islands where you'll find many all-inclusive resorts (3* to 5*), they are uninhabited.
