It really illustrates how far Joe Joeman has come when you consider how he's gone from cowering behind Meeko and firing arrows from the darkness to rushing Falmer with a crossbow head-on, much less when you see him play the lute in his crown at the Throat of the World.
Me seeing this video: "Smithing is pretty safe, how is he going to get Joe killed 30+ times turning ore into bows?" Me watching this video: "Oh, that's how."
It depends on when those videos were posted. When Skyrim was first released smithing Iron daggers was the most efficient method for leveling up your smithing since you got a fixed amount of xp based on the items materiel tier. So that meant that an Iron dagger gave you the same amount of xp as Iron armor. However Bethesda fixed this very quickly, they released a patch that changed smithing and I think alchemy as well to award xp based on the crafted item's value.
I had even tested this myself. When Skyrim first came out I had heard from a friend that smithing daggers was the best method. Since I am a frugal person (even back then) I wanted to get the best value from my materials. I had crafted 10 iron daggers then reloaded save and crafted 10 Iron Helmets, the progress bar was the same for both.
Kind of a necro, but the formula according to UESP is 3(val^0.65)+25, meaning iron daggers give about 37 xp, while gold rings give about 150 total since you get 2 of them.
@@astuteanansi4935sneak enchantment is great. Gives the item the best value. So you do the alteration method to craft gold rings, then put the fortify sneak enchantment on them and sell. Get rich quick scheme that pays for itself even if you buy the ore and soul gems.
These are awesome man, i'm incredibly happy to say that i've been here since day 1. Found your channel when it had only a few subs or so. I've seen every episode the instant you upload them and will keep watching them in the future aswell. Love ur content. Ps. Okay, got it.
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who's come up with the dwarven bow method, that's what I've been using for years and I've recommended it to everyone I know who plays Skyrim. I've still got a post-it note next to my monitor listing all the smeltable scrap pieces and how much they weigh/how many ingots they make. A solid dwemer metal piece only makes five ingots, whereas 12 of the smaller plates would have about the same item weight as the solid dwemer metal but would yield 36 ingots. It's a fun little game of strategy, plus dwemer ruins are cool and the extra loot usually sells for a lot. And now thanks to your efforts I've been able to witness comparative proof that the bow method I adore is actually pretty viable! Thanks for the amazing vid!
not only is it viable its actually better than transmuting ore. he tested this very poorly imo because you need more xp the higher your levels go. also you can improve the dwarven bows which is actually more efficient than making them.
I clicked on this video not realizing it was the next in the JJ saga, and once I heard your voice I audibly went “oh it’s a mylque video!” 11/10 I always look forward to these and love your humor and editing.
This video's intro has been the best one yet. genuinely had me laughing so loud i scared my dog. well done, I've been keeping up with the series for a while now and it's so fun to see :D
hey man idk if you'll see this but your my new favorite RUclipsr and ive been binging your content the past couple days and i just want to say thank you for the amazing content
A good way to boost the leveling even more is to do the Unfathomable Depths quest. It has you go through a Dwemer Ruin, so you're already getting a lot of Dwarven Metal, and the quest's reward grants you a permanent 15% buff to Smithing experience gain (along with a 25% armor bonus towards Dwarven armor).
Perk can still be bugged. As in it gives every armor BUT dwarven the 25% bonus, and instead of increasing smithing faster, it increases the strength of smithing when upgrading items.
You tripped me out about the snickers bar but that looked like a snickers ice cream bar and a trip to the gas station has confirmed the vein is still here.
Go into the Dwemer museum and steal all the dwemer scrap metal. There's tons of it. There's tons in the dwemer ruin under the Keep too but you have to fight through all the Falmer for that.
To anyone interested I counted how many gold bars are needed to get level 100 smithing it took me approximately 877 gold ingots or 1754 iron ore turned into gold ore using the transmutation spell. Edit: to anyone who intends to sell the gold jewelry after you finish getting level 100 smithing. I recommend making rings instead of necklaces because you get 2 rings but only one necklace per gold bar. The 2 rings combined are worth more than a single gold necklace so you would be getting more money buuut you could also use the gold rings to level your enchanting skill however you don’t have to if you don’t want too
You can also level smithing by upgrading weapons and armor at the grindstone or bench. A little alchemy (Restoration loop) and enchanting (Fortify Alchemy, Fortify Smithing) and you can easily max smithing with just a couple of pieces of iron or steel.
@@gabrielbraz1221 just use the OP gear for maxing the perk trees that give you the most trouble, then stop using it. It's not going to ruin your experience. It surely isn't fun to grind for perks. If you just play questlines only, you won't even max more than 2 skills (possibly 3 if you do an unholy amount of lockpicking) passively, and those are an armor skill and a melee skill of course.
I really hope Mylque comes back to content creation. This skyrim series is unironically some of the best bethesda-game content to exist, and the fallout 4 series had a lot of promise. He has such a likeable brand of humor, and his script writing/story building is impressive given the goofy context of the Joeman saga. I randomly got this in my recommended back when he was on episode 3 of this series, and was hooked on his content from the start. Ive rarely cared for any media enough to actively wait for new episodes, but I checked youtube daily back when he was active. The only thing I can say is I dont use twitch. If he still streams but just gave up youtube then I guess I need to look into that. °n°
I had a playthrough where I maxxed out Smithing, Alchemy, Enchanting, and Speechcraft. Took forever, but I was eventually making more money than I could literally spend. Made some of the best gear I reasonably could, gave it to a follower, and played the rest of the game. I set foot in one dungeon once at level 5 for the Transmute spell, then didn't do it again until level 60 or so.
For those who want smithing to be a bit more interesting try the make junk useful mod, basically you can turn junk into its equivalent weight in its appropriate material. Ik its on xbox but not sure about anything else. Can't play without it now lol so ye, enjoy.
Apways glad when the random number generator that is the algorithm blesses me with a new series to binge, just finished catching after after watching this first video and i was hooked.
I would go into Riften to do that mission with the Lexicon, you'll have access to some Dwarven metal, and after you complete the mission you'll gain a permanent 15% boost to learning smithing. Later, I like to use the transmute method. You have the alteration XP gained, the Smithing, then if you're patient you can train Enchanting and gain even more Septims after.
If you have the necessary soul gems, just keep collecting any random ring, necklace, gloves and boots you find to train enchanting on. The power of the Soul gem does not matter towards enchanting XP so you can still get nice XP from enchantments like health recovers 1% faster
The second method brought you from 40-25 The amount of xp per level up goes up with smiting level. There is considerably more xp xp per min of labor. Almost twice as much!
Duplicate gold bars by dropping them in whiterun, making a companion pick them all up, leaving through the door, fast traveling back, and repeat. Then take the 400 gold bars and make gold rings until you're smithing level 100, so you can make that steel sword you picked up at the start of the game deal *88 damage.*
I just installed a mod that made me gain Smithing experience from any kind of crafting related activity like mining, chopping wood, tanning leather and upgrading equipment.
My god, that intro has to be the single, most packed full of innuendos in all of Tamriel.

Joe joeman, have you considered using alteration spells to gain popularity with mage voters?
alteration spells cant be used to change someones disposition, youre thinking of illusion spells
