As much as I adore this device, I can't relax with it. The screen keeps locking during videos. I use TalkBack and a Brydge keyboard, so my screen is usually hidden and covered by the case. Might that be why? I tried turning TalkBack off and keeping the case open, but it still locked, so can the tablet discern lighting?...
Thank you for the update. I didn't even give the Pixel tablet a second look when it was announced last year but after finally holding one in Best buy the other day I like how it feels in my hand. it's lighter than I thought it would be and seeing as how I have a whole lot of Google products, I've been thinking about adding one to my Google ecosystem and this definitely helped. The eip accessories seem like a no brainer for the tablet as well. I do wish that Google was putting more effort into supporting it by adding a few features that many have mentioned in various reviews as well as adding a keyboard cover and possibly a stylus, but I'm still going to give it a try and see if I use it enough to keep it.
awesome! Thanks for covering this device again! I've been thinking about picking one of these up. One of my favorite things when I was an Apple guy was the lightweight usecase of the ipad with a keyboard cover/case for meetings and for teaching. With my Chromebook and Pixel 7, this Pixel Tablet seems like it would complete the trifecta, especially with this keyoard case. Also, really cool to see Joe out in front of the camera! Way to go, Joe!
What is happening with this channel? The podcast stopped, the guy is gone, the video is an accessory ad. Is the channel dead or sold? Are they just taking a break?
I have Pixel Tablet. It's a great device which I primarily use docked as a Media Consumption device in my Kitchen and occasionally some gaming, but your video has made think about other uses case I had not previously considered.
Love my pixel tablet. Looks great on the home. Love the stand - always charged and always our at the dining table. Great for media consumption and use it for email, writing docs from time to time. Great for a regular user.
I use mine with the official case and a paper like screen protector with a USI stylus. Besides a travel netflix machine, i mostly use the pixel tablet with noteshelf for my notes, snapseed to photo edit, and lumafusion for RUclips.
A year ago this channel reviewed this tablet and said that it's good that it doesn't have a keyboard bolted onto it to make it look like a computer " Google Pixel Tablet Review: Unique In The Wrong Ways (For Now) " and yet this episode advert ,, is ,, add a keyboard case - crazy people
My Hazel Pixel Tablet is the first device i grab in the morning. I spend a majority of the time watching videos and the Pixel Tablet's 16:10 aspect ratio is perfect for that. I occasionally scroll through websites or reddits in portrait mode and doing so just isnt as comfortable compared to ipad's aspect ratio. But you can't have it both ways so I'll take a 16:10 aspect ratio for all the videos and movies I watch on this thing. Batterylife is also insane. I don't know what magic they did configuring this tablet's batterylife.
My Pixel tablet is My primary device .. use it for everything which is mostly surfing and android gaming, emails, occasional docs and spreadsheets .. have thought about keyboard and pen, but haven't "needed" either yet .. this eip stuff is overpriced (cuz they're mostly apple accessory company) and keyboard case seems pretty heavy 820g .. the eip bag looks good but again overpriced
One of teh worst google products in a long time. Google really dropped the ball on this. Why they released an overpriced crippled home hub instead of a serious tablet that many users would have been interested in I have no idea at all.
the screen is trash it looks far cheaper than the price actually is I have it... the iPad 10 can be purchased for $320 it's a much better product honestly
Pixel Tablet has better screen, better speakers, the speaker stand which is very useful and you can have different people accounts to use as a family device. I'm not saying Pixel is better, just that it depends what you prefer and value the most.
this video is an advert for a case for the tablet ,,, he says himself "while it's not perfect......",, which sums up this product really this channel is called chrome unboxed I suggest you buy a Chromebook TABLET like the Lenovo duet 3, ..... which has a case & pen included
It does NOT have NFC. Therefore, I cannot take wireless (tap to pay) payments with the Square app. Therefore, I will not buy this. If a newer version has NFC, I will buy it.
why would you need to do that? this is a home tablet/media consumption device/home hub. it is not meant for tap to pay business uses. and you realize you can just buy a plug-in usb-c tap to pay device that has nfc right? literally every business I've ever encountered either had specifically a payment portal tablet designed for merchants or a plug-in tap to pay device. nfc is useless on a tablet.
@@israelramirez0202 , I have a home business. The tablet would be used for scheduling, signing paperwork, playing the music through the speakers on the docking station, and for taking payments with square using NFC. I don't want to have to buy something extra for NFC. Also, when people buy a tablet, they can use it for whatever they want. NFC would not be useless on a tablet. The more expensive Samsung tablets have NFC.
@@bcataiji The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 doesn't have NFC. I own one. And tablets are meant to used for what they were designed for. Not all tablets are developed to do everything.
Good to see the Pixel tablet still holding up well.
FYI viewers: this is more a sponsored "ad" for Pixel tablet accessories.
Hate to agree. Either have a section that’s a plug or merge it into the video, but not both.
Deal with it 😂
I thought the same. Calling this "1 year later" is what kind of stands out.
Updated sponsorblock, thanks
The real MVP here. Ty
I put my tablet on my refrigerator and watch and listen to RUclips while in the kitchen the Magnet is that strong
Wow, I just tried it. It works awesome 😂. Magnets are really strong

This wasn't a review of the pixel tablet. More like a psa: the tablet isn't bad, a case for an android tablet and thecase sponsor
Does this tablet offer any extra functionalityif yiu have a pixel phone ?
Nope

What security cameras are you using?
Where is Pixel Tablet 2? That’s what im waiting for
12-18 months away.
Probably mid 2025. About 2 years after the release of the original.

Are those nest cameras you're using! I haven't seen a 4 camera view.
Let me know when the dock will function as a standalone smartspeaker when the tablet isnt docked.
Can this tablet act like a wireless display for a laptop?

Where is Bob?
He switched to Apple.
How well does the Pixel Tab run LumaFusion? This is my go-to question when I see a new chromebook and the results are hit and miss.
I just purchased one from best buy. I use a pixel 9 pro phone. Pixel tablet seems interesting. As soon as I set it up, I saw Android 15 update.
I disagree with your comment on the bezels thickness. They can slim them down and add them back in software for whoever prefers them on the thick side
Good to see you in front of the camera, Joe!
Thanks for posting this video
Yesterday, I purchased it with the base.
I also picked up the Nest Doorbell Camera. Seems like a solid purchase one day in. 😂

Nice video, although I think I stick with my Duet 5, in fact I like that so much I bought a second one after 2 years (now 8/256gb)
Unfortunately google does not support pixel in the Philippines.

When I get paid I may grab one of these WITH the base seeing that I'll be working from home..I can use it to play music until I sign off for the day
Just bought mine today

The Microsoft Surface Pro integrated kickstand was a genius move.
I wish this was a real 1 year later review
Because of recent google manifest v3 and other things its better to stay away from them for privacy purpose
