I wonder how anyone could going back to listening Bach on a modern piano (typically played in a horrible romaticized way by pianists) after listening to this! A performance that can actually compete with my references (by Staier and Ross). Bravo!

This is one of those very, very few interpretations of the French Ouverture that absolutely transcends the printed page, that transports the listener to the highest realms of musical heaven, exactly as Johann Sebastian meant it to be. What an artist, Mr. Mencoboni! Such a magnificent statement. Marco's interpretation of this divine music of Bach is beyond words - as it should be.

I wonder what made you upload this twice? Did you want us, the listeners/viewers, to realize there are no 2 performances identical (of-course not - it is human being playing, not a robot), only similar with tiny slight bit of very small changes, or does my mind playing tricks on me and in reality it is the same upload? Is it the conduct of your sense of humor? - either way, I'm not tired to praise this/these excellent performance/s. Bravissimo! I would like though to ask you - as an Early Music's expert - one question that bothers me a lot and I was ashame to ask because of my ignorance: is it OK to fuse the 1st part of the, let's say the 1st Gavotte, with the 1st part of the 2nd Gavotte, thus using Bach himself in the repetition of each part? and, if so - is it OK nevertheless to use our own creative decorations during the process of performing? Thanks for all your uploads.
