Very nice kit. Just love the hobby. Just got myself a baofeng BF-UVB2. Just love the radio. With just the antenna that came with the radio I was able to hit the repeaters up in Saskatoon without any problem at all!
Thumbs up Nr. 265. only one issue they deny the PMR mode with low power 0,5W. It is only permitted to use the HAM Band frequencies. I'm asking me why they make such a limitation? I accept the limit of the power rate but why are all new radios limited? Why they don't bring out a radio where I can transmit in PMR with 0,5W and in the other HAM Bands in 4Watt? 73 Volker
hi Does this have an analog signal? Also, do I want to ask if I want to connect to the Internet? (A middle school student preparing to take the ham card)🙇🙇🙇
Hi, please add the goods into your cart first, then click your shopping cart, fill the coupon thanksgiving3 below the Discount Codes, you will get the discount, for RT3S usd 139, you will save usd25. please have a try!
I don't know if they are compatible as I don't have an older RT3 to test. But you could export the contacts and the channels from the RT3 CPS. This creates a .CSV file that can be imported into the RT3S. Only downside is that you will have to recreate your zones, but at least the hard work is done.
The RT84 is newer. It has more memory channels and can hold a greater number of contacts. The RT82 is IP67 waterproof rated if that is important to you.
I'm running PiStar with the DVMega board. It works pretty well. The unit sits inside the house and I get a range of about one city block. Not too bad. I've got a video if you want to see my setup: ruclips.net/video/XaqGIpDDvIM/видео.html
I had one of these radio which I bought from amazon which didn't work and wouldn't programme software from computer to radio and was unable to hear or communicate on it the radio has being returned back and awaiting my refund to be turned back to me as I was pleased what sent and problem getting returned back to get my money back which I am still waiting for now. I wouldn't buy one again I don't think people should waste there money on one as I was every unhappy send hassle getting it returned and what I paid for the radio was waste of time and money
I am sorry, please make sure your order price is more than USD100. And please use the coupon thanksgiving3 also. You will get the double discount for the order more than usd100.

What software do you use for programming RT3S, please?
Hi thanks for the review, but i cannot get Unprogram off the 2nd frequency line , any idea?
Thank you for the review. One question can you program a channel (repeater) on the radio without a computer?
Programming a DMR radio from the keypad is a daunting task, but the RT3S is field programmable. You can edit and add channels from the keypad.
is it possible to scan uhf/vhf channels
What accessories work with it ? , Motorola, Kenwood ,ect
The mic connector is 2-pin Kenwood style.
Also can it also transmit on GMRS I also have a lic for that too.
Kristyanna Virgona I sent a message to Retevis to see what the deal is with the coupon code. I'll let you know what I dons out.
Not on DMR
I know I may get a lot of Flac for this but im gonna ask anyway LOL Will it do like the baofeng uv5 and be able to program murs, gmrs, and frs?
The RT3s covers 136-174 Mhz VHF and 406-470 Mhz UHF, so you could program those other radio services into it.
Hi there and thanks for the review. Do you know of a way to convert a RT3 codeplug to be compatible with RT3S?
I don't know if they are compatible as I don't have an older RT3 to test. But you could export the contacts and the channels from the RT3 CPS. This creates a .CSV file that can be imported into the RT3S. Only downside is that you will have to recreate your zones, but at least the hard work is done.
Is this a better than the rts82 or 84? What models are newer?
The RT84 is newer. It has more memory channels and can hold a greater number of contacts. The RT82 is IP67 waterproof rated if that is important to you.
@@KB9VBRAntennas Thank you for the info I like the look of the rt3s that's what I meant to type sorry
Is there a DMR repeater up there?
Jason KD9JON No DMR repeater yet, one is in the works, though. I'm currently using a hotspot.
I seen that. How do you like the hotspot? I am looking in to getting one
