Wow, I was the furthest station? Awesome stuff. It'd be interesting to try DMR on a colinear mounted on a tripod or perhaps making up a 70cm Moxon beam or something, go for super distance for laugh. I've seen DMR Simplex travel around 50-60 miles with no break up on someone else's RUclips video (think the bloke lives on the Barrow In Furness coast - Walney Island). Was good fun doing this experiment, glad I went out and had the time to do so.
Just started watching you Lewis. Newly interested in ham radio and enjoying your reviews. Looking forward to the next step visiting a local club and then, hopefully, take the first step and obtaining the foundation licence. Thanks for your enlightenment. Chris.
Had a listen on a Whistler TRX-1 in the Salford M5 area. Good audio and signal from your handheld and great to see the video after listening today, thanks.
Super video Lewis, Im still warming to DMR, there is little to no activity at all near me, I popped up to see my sister in Buckley recently up near you and it was so much better, waiting for our local repeater here to get set up, I also find when high up the car doesnt make much difference either and in some ways if it can do it in the car then the viewer knows out in the open it should be just fine. keep em coming. :-)
Cheers mate! It's a bit hit and miss here, if I hadn't prearranged a schedule on facebook I doubt anyone would've come back! Yeah I did test in and out and there was no difference. Let me know next time you're up here! ;)

Sounds nice for digital not as robotic as some the other their was a few packet losses that's why it broke up a bit but u will know that ha good video mate bit late on commenting 73s anyhow and all best for Christmas and new year :)
Ordered one of these only to discover it can’t be programmed on a Windows 11 laptop! Terrible menu also, sent back! Hoping the HD1 is better otherwise than that will be another return!
Once again Lewis a great review and video. I have still not received any radios you don't want! lol I know you can't use them all.p,s you got a codeplug for the md320 at all?
Ringway Manchester I couldn't help mentioning that when I saw this video...I just gave you a short out on Zello, weren't sure if it was working my end.
Hi Lewis. Have this RT3s GPS. how do you connect to the repeater and how do you know what slot and colour code for each channel? I have programmed Brandmeister Talkgroups in but don't know which slots or codes, or even which Repeater for My location. Taking My Foundation on the 22nd, and would like to get it sorted by then. David
I have a question if anyone can answer. A frequency which was previously analogue for our local shopwatch keeps coming through on my analogue scanner but as it's digital I can't hear speech, just noise. If I buy a DMR radio and input the same frequency will I be able to actually hear speech? Or is that too easy 🤣
Hello, thanks for your great videos !! I'm just thinking of buying the RT3S or the HD1. You did range testing with both, would it be possible, that you comment regarding on range in comparison of these two radios ? THANKS 73/55 Markus

Yes you were mate! The colinear on a tripod could work well! Leave that with me! Thanks for helping out!

I just ordered a Radioddity GD-77S, I'll give it a try.

Sorry mate not been on for a couple of days with work etc
Ringway Manchester no worries, I'm hoping to use Zello mobile on my bicycle with a group of riders so will be interesting to see how well it performs!
Nice!
Why You don't use external (on roof) antenna with better gain? Greetings and thanks for another interesting video.
Because I like to use the radios own antenna for these tests mate. Cheers

Would like to have heard it up against the Radioddity GD-77S, just for comparison. MM0SDK. Edit: Just seen the video of the other radio now.
Lewis, where is the Motorola XPR or the UK
equivalent in this test :(
I've ordered one today... Are you still using it? How you finding it after a few months?
Still my favourite DMR set
