LG is an excellent example of the importance of branding. Same here, Ambilight and Android TV (now Google TV) makes it stand out from the pack, and because Philips is now using LG OLED panels, I don't think you can go wrong by choosing a Philips OLED TV.
Maybe it doesn't have the best overall picture quality/image processor, or the best TV features/specs, but the fact that it has Ambilight and that I can pretty much install any Android app I want makes it the obvious choice for me.
We've had several Philips TVs with Ambilight in the house since 2008, and that 1st Ambilight TV is still in the house: a 37", Full-HD 1080p, dual-sided Ambilight Philips TV, lol!

Besides having ad/sponsorblock as its best feature, of course - good luck with that on Samsung's Tizen or LG's WebOS, because I only found rather convoluted solutions, if any at all.
(never even considered those Chinese brands, so I don't know about them - but they might use a basic AndroidTV OS, so if you're lucky you can sideload things without issues - I just know that some Panasonics couldn't even access any proper app store at all, recently, when I was looking around for new TVs, to replace my 10+ year old Samsung D6500)

I am with Sony mostly. 2 LCD TV's - one 2010, one 2017 and they are still working with good colours. I had 6 Sony phones, one of them failed after 1,5 years of use. The other 5 were in perfect working order, but I have replaced them with newer ones.
2 home theater systems - both still working.
1 Sony Vaio laptop - the battery said after 7 years of daily use as desctop PC, but the laptop was still working although it got very slow over the years.
Before that we had Sony CRT TV- had a problem after 1 year, but got fixed under warranty and worked for another ~ 20 years till we got tired of it and replaced it.
We had a cassette player for 30 years that filed after those many years.
I had several Goldstar/LG products. Most of them failed within the warranty except the Goldstar VHS player that was perfect for almost 20 years. LG phones - probably the worst ones that you can get after Motorola.
Had 5 Huawei smartphones. Just great products.
Have 2 desctop PCs of Acer and 1 Acer monitor - just rock solid. They are all working fine, although the monitor is 16 years old and show signs of colour loss and flickerings.
I am considering of buying another Sony TV around Christmas - it will be 75 or 85 inches for my man's cave that I want to setup.
Although I have had 2 failures with Sony product I love the picture quality. It just better the competition when you compare them side by side in the shop. I know...the prices are X2 compared to Samsung and LG and x3-x4 compared to the cheaper brands from China.
I rather pay more for the pleasure than go cheap and unhappy.
You rather spend a week in Bora Bora, than 2 weeks in Punta Cana.
You rather buy Mercedes and have the pleasure driving it for 10 years, than having a cheap c
Toyota trash that will have 0 problems for 20+ years but with 0 pleasure since day 1.

For years I have been buying LCD TVs from the pioneer of this industry, the Japanese brand Sharp. For more than 20 years, I still can't let this brand down, especially the faithful colour rendering and top quality. My first flagship model LC37XD1E still works for 17 years, the second model Sharp with Android tv, works for 4 years. Well and now I purchased another, this time again a flagship model with Google tv system and again great satisfaction in the ratio.. price/performance/quality.
I hope that Sharp will again come to the forefront in the tv segment, I think it rightly deserves it, as its history and experience with this technology is also unique.
Anyway, THANKS a lot for this video, I will look forward to the next one again.. 🙂 👍

When it comes to picture clarity and technology, Sony is still best. They don’t sell too much because of their price and lack of marketing.
However, nowadays TVs are just a game of 1-2 years so people always go for a cheaper option and change very frequently. This is the reason, many small and new brands sell alot.

    • @Simplypunjabi1

@ when you purchase a brand, you don’t only pay for a product, you also pay for a brand value.

    • @Simplypunjabi1
      @Simplypunjabi1 11 дней назад

@ every brand has its own class of people. Middle class will always goes for cheapest option. For example, the feature which are available in Hyundai Creta or Kia are not even available in high end brands like Mercedes/ BMW entry level 50-60 lakh models but still that class of people will always goes for Mercedes or BMW etc. This is called a brand value.
However if we still think small and just choose for quantity over quality then no need for debate or discussion.

@@serrael-182 The panels may be produced by LG, at least the OLED ones, but for the the larger models they buy the parts from the OLED panel seperately and put them together with their own special sauce. If you ever experienced the MZW2004, you know it's not the same. I know someone who regretted replacing his Panasonic Plasma with a cheap LG OLED, because there is no more headphone jack which he needs at night so he won't entertain the whole building. He wanted to sell me his TV twice already to buy a Panasonic OLED.
Sadly Panasonic is going to fade out the developement of MyHomescreen, which is the OS that makes even 15 year old TVs work like brand new even though RUclips and TuneIn are no longer operational on them. In a few month the new A-Series, the naming will be pretty similar to Samsung, will launch with FireTV OS replacing MyHomescreen, because of Apps and to get back into the US market. tbh I don't think it'll work, Amazon, Hisense and TCL (excluding the 115") are much cheaper.
