- There are 6 bags I share with you in this video, that I never should have bought in the first place. These are all bags that there was something about them, some niggle, that was pulling at my gut feeling, that there just was something not right, something that I didn't quite love, but I ignored my gut feeling and bought them anyway, and guess what! The bag didn't work, I never got over what it was about it that I just didn't love. The bag never worked for me and I should have listened to myself, I never should have bought these bags in the first place. I also share with you in this video why I did go ahead and buy them, and some of the reasons are a little embarassing!

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *preluxs* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
We all make mistakes. I have too much makeup and too much skincare. In fact, if I could use up the stuff faster, I'd buy even more!!

That bag was never for me!
I bought your Chanel Gabrielle bag and just know, it went to a good home. ♥️ I adore it! The chains do get fussy but they look so cool that I love wearing it out at night.
Also I sometimes take the chains off and just hand carry using the Chanel leather logo strap. I actually use it more that way and realize I like it better as a hand carry bag more than shoulder or crossbody.
When people are saying *suluxs* is a better option,I very much agree!

I totally understand that feeling and ignoring our inner voice. What gets me in trouble is “persevering” fighting against it when the universe is screaming at me. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen often and I haven’t spent an outrageous amount of money (because I don’t have it). It can happen in any situation and our best outcome is that we learn from our mistakes. Great subject, Amelia Rose!

tried on the saddle bag a week ago and very quickly my face said eww, I did not feel it. i kept trying to make it work by posing differently but I am thankful I didn't buy it. didn't buy it because hubby was irritated and wanted to leave, so that helped me out. another thing I learned is not to buy totes with a middle divider, but nope bought the gst, sold it, lost funds on it, and here and there you'll find me looking at them saying maybe I will give it another try lol. girl stop! lol.

I remember when you bought some of these bags. That caramel Chanel rectangular flap is gorgeous! It's good not to be impulsive with anything. It can give you a different perspective, and if you go back to what you were contemplating, most likely, you'll make the right decision.

I wondered if the Chanel Gabrielle would show up here. I still think that is my favorite of all your bags; it's so rock-and-roll and I am a sucker for a deep red leather bag. But I knew you didn't love it, and those chains were a bit much! Thanks for sharing all these. They all led you to the beloved collection you own today!

My mistakes are lv classic monogram canvas bags. I love lv damier, but not the monogram, i must be the only one, because everyone else seems to love it.
I convinced myself that i needed to have at least one, that i had to like lv classic monogram because everyone loved it. I guess FOMO?
and i bought not 1, not 2 but 3!!!!
Every time i look at my lv classic monogram bags…I can’t stop laughing because… what was i thinking?
I have it in their dust bags because I can’t even look at them every time i go to my closet 😂
Im kind of making myself use the lv monogram bags because i need to learn my lesson.
Since then, im only buying what i love not what others love.

I'm so glad I went through this when I was buying Kate Spade and the like, not Chanel lol Though in my early twenties, those prices stung too and I felt dumb. I really try to only get things I love, but it still happens sometimes

I love how honest you are. I now put everything in the cart and walk away for days (be it this only works for online shopping), but it helps me not get caught up in the “I want it” or “I'm having a bad day” energy of it all.

Thank you for your honest sharing. I think I have learned a great deal regarding luxury purchase. As for myself I now try to order online instead of going to boutique to avoid any influence from the SA or just pressure from myself. Chanel bags cannot be ordered online but I have stopped buying Chanel quite sometime ago due to the price increase. A few years ago I went into a Chanel boutique to look for a Chanel round bag. after I tried it on I thought it did not look good on my body shape. however the sales associate that I knew for a few years convinced me that it looked great on me and the end the end I bought it.I kind of regretted that afterwards because it really did not look good on my body although I like the bagI don't use it that much.

I hear you as I've bought many a bag because I just wanted to buy a bag that day! The carmel I passed on because I am aware I don't wear my LV monogram bags most times because I just don't like the color of them. Just impulsively bought a sequin Chanel mini flap because it was beautiful and the only one!

Oh yes it happened to me! Actually , like you my first Chanel bag years ago! I wanted a black cf, they didn’t have it. The SA was trying to sell me a boy bag but I truly never liked that bag. And then, she came back with a beige seasonal single flap. I don’t like beige bags at all but for whatever reason I bought it. I never liked that bag and it sat on the shelf. I don’t resell my bags really just because I hate the process but I totally sold that one! Now I will go 10 times into a store if I need to before I found THE bag. But if I have even a small doubt, I am not buying it. It was an expensive mistake that I won’t do again!

This was a great video and it’s so true that for all of these reasons we can see ourselves up to fail. I have a similar video coming soon and the lessons 🙈 sadly I think the only way we can really learn them is personal experience but these are great warnings!

Hi Amelia, great video. As handbags lover, I understand how you feel. I just bought a Hermes picotin 22 bag. This bag was not the bag that I always wanted because it is only hand carry. In the end, I bought it as I saw other youtubers convert into a shoulder bag or crossbody bag. So I am thinking maybe I should give it a try. Fingers crossed. Hope I will not regret with my purchase.

Beside handbags i also love perfumes and i was obsessed on getting the hypnotic poison by Dior. Tried it many times in stores and thought i really loved it well when i finally owned it realized didnt go with my body chemistry.
With perfumes happen a lot what happens with bags.

This exact thing happened to me yesterday at the LV Boutique. I purchased the On the Go East West (which you recently reviewed) and after spending over $3K on it, came home and returned first thing this morning. You video about strap was accurate. It sort of cheapened a very classy, beautiful bag. Also, didn’t care for the dangling coin purse on strap. I’d pay even more if it had had a monogram matching strap instead! At least I returned immediately. But the whole store experience and nice SA had me sold yesterday 😂
It's amazing how it just carries us along and we walk out the door with the bag!

100% I understand being in store and wanting to buy something, I’ve been there many times. I bought the toy YSL Loulou because I thought the small size was too expensive for what it was. However I knew the toy was smaller than what I wanted. I knew as soon as I got it home that it was wrong, but I kept it instead of returning it. Of course I ended up selling it.

I know what you mean about not loving the caramel brown colours. I got sucked in by everyone saying it was the most desirable colour and bought an Hermes Kelly in Gold with GHW. Didn’t really like it. It’s just not my colour.
