811 locates are a nationwide law, but they only cover utilities' service, not private lines. Maps are often incomplete; 3 days ago I had a locate done, only about half the traces involved showed up on the official map. Anyone who excavates for a living can tell all kinds of stories about finding utilities that didn't appear on a map or a trace - lots of reasons for this, but lesson is just because you get an 811 locate done, it's not reason to think everything down there is going to paint a line. In congested areas, using an instrument like this and really taking your time often saves a lot of headaches.
I am trying to understand the line transmitter. Could you hook that up to a pvc pipe (for septic lines or would it work on old cast iron pipes) and would it create the frequency to be found above ground with the locator?
@@DaleMcConkey This transmitter only works on metal objects. To trace the pvc sewer lines you will need the Ridgid seesnake camera with a Sonde transmitter in the head.
OMG, It appears to me to be a complete fictional story line. How long did it take to write the script? Clearly no practical experience. 14:30 - it's called a sonde and not running a tracer wire. You guys missed all the basics of practical experience.

But, seriously good review. The sr20 had basically no learning curve, I'm sure this is the same.
