YOU ARE US..... 4 years ago. Hubby and I moved to NZ from the UK and our jack russell "Sushi" stayed at Pet Haven for 10 days. Worst 10 days of my life being separated from my beautiful girl. But the folks at Pet Haven took great care of her. We are now 4 years on with a 2 year old and another beautiful dog "Otter" and building our own eco home in the countryside and have our dream jobs!! Dreams DO come true. Love watching you guys! Would love Lanka to meet Otter and Sushi if you guys ever fancied a walk and a beer. We are down in the Bay of Plenty (Mount Maunganui). I sent you a message on FB a while ago so you have me details. Immigrating is exciting, lonely, terrifying, amazing, sad, happy - all the things!! But still 100% the best thing we ever did. So glad the phone issue has been highlighted! Driving and talking/video chatting without handsfree/Bluetooth is illegal in NZ and Australia! Touching your phone while driving or stopped at traffic lights can get you a fine! Might pay to get a road code and read up so you don't get a fine!
I cried of joy when I watched you guys reuniting with him. It made me remember the day we brought our cat over from Argentina to NZ. It took us 2 years to finally be ready ourselves to receive him here, and it was sooo worth it. Couldn’t believe my eyes when he was at last at our home. Definitely one of my happiest days in life. Best of luck in NZ! I love you videos.

The process of moving an animal countries is super hard! I moved my cat from Australia and even though there was no quarantine, the process was not easy. Well done for navigating the process and the effort has obviously paid off with you being reunited with the amazing Lanka!
Hey! I’m from the US and I’d like to move to Australia in a couple of years. We’re you concerned about your cat at all during the flight? I keep feeling like I’m terrified that she won’t survive the plane ride in cargo for 14 hours :/
@@LJ-xu6yz I moved my cat from Australia to New Zealand so it was only a 4 hour flight. In saying that, my cat does not travel well (even a 2 min car ride to the vet is a traumatic event) and he survived.
What absolute joy! He's so gorgeous! But Alex!!! Get off the phone while you're driving! It's illegal in NZ and you're carrying precious cargo with Carrie and now Lanka, don't risk them!!!!!
Welcome to Aotearoa New Zealand Alex, Carrie and Lanka! My husband and I moved from the Middle East to the UK and then back to NZ 6 years later with our two rescue cats on both occasions. To take an animal from New Zealand to other countries is generally easier than bringing animals in to New Zealand, I believe. As Alex mentioned, being an island nation we don’t have many of the endemic diseases (such as rabies) that are more common in much of Europe and the Americas. Friends who brought their pets back from Australia to New Zealand said it cost twice as much to bring their dog in, compared to what they paid per person (and that was just from Australia).
What a great video I really appreciate it. Thanks for showing PetHaven, I’m flying my dog to New Zealand from the USA next February and I was hesitating between the three facilities, but have been corresponding with pethaven, they’ve been so good at replying to all my emails, and they said they’re the only ones with some kennels from which dogs can not only smell but see the green grass and the trees, and lay in the sun in the outer kennel. And your video shows it!! Looks like such a calm place, I heard no dogs barking? Is that right? Luna would be stressed by too much barking, she’s been attacked by other dogs many times… ( by the way, something in your video is not correct anymore, you say it was a requirement before to use a pet shipper, not anymore. Some airlines restric it, but not AA for instance. You can fly your dog AA cargo one way from the USA to AKL for 715 usd, provided you take care of all the paperwork correctly… and having shipped Luna myself to many countries before, I started to do just that.. ). But guys, thanks for the video, can’t wait to be there next February. At pethaven, how many times a day do they come into your dog’s kennel to play and interact with it ? Thanks guys.

I was parked :)
Liar much... you can see the road whishing past... I lost respect for you.
@@AlexanderAyling We're talking about when you were video calling (not on the phone calling the agency). :)
What a joy! So inspirational 🤩
🙏🏼 Thank you Alexandre
A gr8 dog blog! Supercute. I highly recommend getting dog insurance! If something goes wrong with Lanka whether by accident or health it can be very expensive.. This comes from experience! These two companies are at the top of the pile. My dog is with Petplan and Southern Cross is another that comes recommended. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Monty! Good shout
❤️❤️❤️ great episode in your life that you’ve shared. The family is now complete and I really look forward to watching your lives develop in NZ!
Lanky is still the cutest puppy On You Tube 😉
