Everytime I hear Sean Leon talk I'm puzzled. Because he comes off as a thoughtful and creative person with a clear vision, but I don't see that properly reflected in the majority of his music. If we look at other thoughtful artists like Kendrick, Lupe, Kanye, and both members of OutKast we see that refreshing perspective really reflected in their songs. I really don't get that from the majority of Sean's music. It feels like typical SoundCloud rap to me, how does songs like Y OFC really differ?

I mean, y ofc is clearly a flex song. have you listened to anything off of "from the mind of?" or the single guillotine? I admire his versatility and I actually enjoy his R&B retrospective shit more than the rap rap.

@@shitpostheavy I am familar with a good amount of his catalog. A lot of his songs are pretty much flex songs. Even the ones aren't lack substance. I can tell he tries to keep it simple on purpose, but it just feels shallow. He should flesh it out more. He doesn't have to be the most lyrical rapper, but he can create better songs that don't just feel overly repetitive. They're good elements in his music, but it doesn't really shine in any area. A lot of rappers have versatility. A lot. For example, everyone I named does a better job at that. Even when it comes to sing-songy rap that's pretty much R&B.

im a HUGE sean leon fan, and thats something that ive always noticed. he’s dropping his next album in 5 years soon, so im hoping he used that time to develop his writing. because for everything he is amazing at, his writing has always been his biggest flaw.
