- Animal Crossing Pocket Camp: actually fun, or just another… mobile game…?
Released back in late 2017, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp was a hopeful foray into the monetized-mobile-game-sphere, for one of Nintendo’s most popular titles.
So, did Pocket Camp fill the void in fans hearts, even if just a little? Well, honestly, reception was pretty mixed - whilst largely familiar to players, filled to the brim with familiar faces, criticism mostly stemmed from its timer-heavy mechanic and aggressive push on those inevitable in-game purchases.
Let's start a completely new game in 2024, and decide: is Animal Crossing Pocket Camp worth playing in 2024?

Have you played Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp? Would you consider starting in 2024? Let me know!!
Yess
I realized I never gave my friend code oop
it's 6078 2985 252
@@sbooskiepoket campamento is the best!!! I got my eyes on you vato!!!👁👁👃🏼👁
Ha … I played 2018-2020 very lazy then stopped as acnh and other games came along took more of my interest but 3 days ago i reinstalled the app and it kind of is fun again find all new and see all my old stuff 😂
Its also worth noting that its like the only mobile game with no ads, really helps with relaxation in your time of leisure.

Roblox and animal crossing is good. But let’s remove Roblox because of the useless bans
I've been playing on Pocket Camp ever since it came out, and honnestly aside from the heavy IRL money push I don't see the hate for the game. It's been updated a lot with quality-of-life improvments (Pete didn't exist at first), it still has new events, furniture and clothing added monthly, thus beating New Horizons, and it has so many campers it's wild! Also, I've subscribed to the Assistant for the many bonuses it gives : AFK grinding even with event materials, 60 leaf tickets every month, and since I've been playing for so long every craft is instantly complete! It is such a help if you want to complete every event but can't log in regularily
Oooo awesome! Thanks so much for the long-time player insight!! Honestly, I'm really enjoying playing and might (will probably) be tempted to get the assistant sub eventually 👀✨
@@sbooskie Your video was a good perspective too ^^ Ah, I remember playing back when you couldn't place furniture everywhere (we had the spot where the planks can be placed as flooring), the friendship level was only 40, the cabin wasn't there, Gulliver worked completely differently, Blather wasn't present either... The gameplay was completely different (and much more exhausting) in the early days. I also appreciate all the firsts Pocket Camp gave us before New Horizons : the entire crafting mechanic, skintones and the ability to change your appearance at will, wigs, scarfs, objects in hand, backpacks and wings, changing your terrain, placing furniture outside.... The list is long lol
Because they ditched the actual animal crossing game on switch for this mobile game. I don't personally mind but thats why
@@TurtleMan2023 From my understanding, it's not the same dev team on both games. But also, from a company perspective, well the mobile game will bring more dividents!
I think my only complaint is I can't even top up the game because it's not available in my country, honestly even tho the game not available in my country, I was able to top up the game but then somehow the game won't allow it anymore since 2 years ago
I still play Pocket camp almost every day. I actually played it first while new horizons was coming out. Mainly because i never played animal crossing before and i wanted to play something animal crossing for free to see if i liked it. I'm hooked
I really enjoyed it for a while, but as updates kept coming out, I noticed how much money I was spending on the premium stuff and how much storage space the game was taking up on my devices. Slowly my friends who played all stopped and I eventually had to delete the game to clear up room on my poor phone and later my tablet. (I tried playing it on my tablet for a while because it had more storage space, but even then without anyone else I knew playing, it was just really lonely.) But this has made me remember how fun it was when it came out. Maybe I'll give it a go again.
Oooo I didn't even THINK about storage space, eek 😬 Will have to keep an eye on that!! Hope it's popularity picks up again and you're able to enjoy it like you used to!!
You're absolutely treating us with the stardew and animal crossing content lately! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, your videos are truly amazing, and I'm surprised you aren't more popular at this point. You definitely deserve it. 💖
Thank you so SO much, honestly this made my entire week 😭❤️
I loved pocket camp until I got a switch and I feel like if you don’t have a console pocket camp is perfect yes it’s a money grab but it’s a free to play game and when achn sells for £40+ it’s understandable they wanna try and claw some money off you but you can play and enjoy it without ever spending a penny
Oh totally agree!! 😎
>You will post a charming video and it will go viral
it will definitely be this one
😭💖
Cut back on Gregg's and Starbucks and suddenly Pocket Princess is head to toe in Kuromi and Cinnamoroll.
Nice video! I've been playing since February 2018 and never spent a single cent on leaf tickets 😅
just by playing everyday and deciding not to get every single thing in the game one can still have a lot of fun and be creative in designing the camp!
Have you tried the camera function to visit your cabin yet? It's so cute!
Thank so much!!
Awesome!! That really shows it can be free to play! I still haven't caved yet - although I am in the free trial for the helper plan at the moment xD
Oooo no I haven't! 10/10 doing that asap 😍
Anybody think she’s underrated???❤❤
I'm BLUSHING. 🥺🩷
Luv this cozy decor mobile game! Gleefully ate a few Sanrio-themed fortune cookies..hope they bring ‘em back!
I just need the carousel from the Sanrio cookie I SWEAR 😭😍
If you still have to sell your soul as F2P player and login every few hours (even at night) just to keep up with events, then it's not worth playing
I love pocketcamp, been on since day one bc I couldn't afford NH and now I'm hooked! I recommend playing for a week before buying the plans, but they are worth it! Great video!
as a long time animal crossing player (started back in wild world on ds) see this game have sooo much p2p stuff is quit disgusting me i agree but i feel it's still nice have some animal crossing in the pocket when your on the bus or not home ♥
Anwer to the video: Sure is!
Yeah, it's available on happymod luckily (I downloaded it)
I got a new phone this weekend with lots of space (something I was lacking on my ancient Note 8) so I decided to check out and revisit some mobile games. Not a big mobile gamer either, I don't like time gating behind premium currency so anything that has that is an instant turn-off... and that's most mobile games. And yep, I remembered that's why I only played Pocket Camp for a single week back when it first came out. It was so annoying! But I still wanted to revisit it and see if anything had changed and I discovered there is a monthly membership for 3 bucks that gives you reduced crafting times based on the age of your account. And because my account is nearly 7 years old, that means every single thing I've been crafting is instant. So yeah... I'm actually enjoying myself now! Sure, it's 3 bucks every month as long as I keep the subscription active... but for right now at least, I feel it's worth it to me. Instant crafting was the thing I needed for this to be playable.
It is worth it. It has Sanrio items.
ngl that's what made me pick it up again 😂
I love pocket camp
"Free-to-start" has been Nintendo's preferred language for these types of games since the late "Iwata era" (RIP), he himself had spoken about why they use this terminology. "Free-to-play" is misleading as those games could be easily confused for actual freeware, whereas "free-to-start" is unambiguous in stating that you can start playing at no cost, while there is also paid content. I personally only use "F2P" as a label for ppl who voluntarily abstain from spending money on freely downloadable (i.e. free-to-start) games
It is my favorite mobile game, I reached level 100 yesterday " I have never spent irl money on it", love your video!
When i want to install it said i have to move where i have a better connection... seriously it's the only game that complain about this 😅
Can someone tell me how to fix this so like when i download it i played it for a bit then it said not enough space so i deleted all my pictures and it still didnt work
Oh, my cheap phone isn't compatible with this game anyway. RIP.
nuuuuu!! :(((((
Hi!! You're absolutely amazing! I have a doubt, when i submit all requests from villagers and invite them to my campsite they will go there. so when does new villagers appear on the map? you realy made my day a lot easier with your video, keep making great content as you are already doing xD
Thank you SO much!!! 🥺💖 I think new villagers will just appear on one of your map locations later in the day, once the app refreshes who's out and about 😁
Great video! I’d been considering playing this game for a long time but was worried that microtransactions would become necessary at some point. Thank you!❤
I started again with this game and no, don't need real money cause you can spend the virtual and the villagers gift you and a regular amount.
Thanks so much!! Enjoy camper life! 💪🔥
I thought i was the only one
its still unavailable on my country so I had to use treasure islands to get the exclusive items
Agree, so disappointing. 😩 I wish Nintendo would expand its region.
Yeah same, the game won't allow me to top up anymore because it's not available in my country (it was allowed until 2022)
I Got my animal crossing for free😅
ACPC it's a cute game
