Addictive b/c we were challenging one another...and as you keep losing you put in more coins to try to win. $1 per game...by the end of the challenge you probably have spent around $10. When you keep doing this almost every day of the week..well, it all adds up... But to be honest it was worth it. You only live once and these arcade games are all history now. (The 1990s and early 2000's were good times for arcade games👍👍).

I just like Street Fighter 3 because Capcom tried to advance *THE PLOT* forward, getting away from M. Bison. I'd like to see some of the younger characters older and the center of the story.

It wasn't until later shortly before SF4 that 3rd strike and sf3 as a whole started to pick up in popularity but after SF4 it was too late and that became more mainstream than 3. But 3 ended up becoming more popular as a competitive game anyway and it's now still considered one of the best like you said. That's what I'm always told ;-;

I remember seeing this at the arcade when I was in middle school. When I told my friends about this, they never believed me. I tried to tell them that this one is more superior than Super Street Fighter II X. But they still wouldn't listen. And to this day, they still believe me.
I absolutely loved this game. Sure, it may have gotten mixed reviews over the years. But Street Fighter III is still a classic. I always thought the graphics were quite impressive. And the gameplay, while it is familiar, it's refreshing as hell. For 1997, this was a great game. And watching this video brings back sweet memories.

Nice playthrough here- double perfect all the way with good parrying. Favorited for Gill, one of Capcom's harder bosses, getting completely owned and NEVER being allowed to do his resurrection or even land a hit.
It's hard to play this game on a standard Dreamcast controller, so I usually switched to the arcade stick or use the Quantum 3rd party controller from interact.
This wasn't even originally supposed to be a Street Fighter game it was supposed to be just called New Generation Alex was the main character of the game not Ken and Ryu Ken and ryu weren't even supposed to be in this game
I miss the backgrounds from this game and 2nd Impact. I love 3rd Strike's gameplay, but the shared backgrounds are the one flaw in that game. If they'd put out a backgrounds pack for 3S Online to let you mix and match the stages from all 3 games randomly I'd basically never stop playing it.

Because most people are bandwagon jumpers, that’s why. Back when SF3 first came out it was overlooked because people were more into 3-D fighters are the time and people also didn’t like the fact that almost all of the old familiar characters were completely replaced. Parrying was also said to be “too hard” so with all of that people sort of stayed away from SF3, including Third Strike. But once that Evo moment between Justin Wong and Daigo happened in 3S everyone jumped on the 3S bandwagon, many of which not even knowing two previous versions of SF3 even existed. Honestly I’ve been playing the series since ‘97 with New Gen and to me it and Second Impact have better music, stages, presentation, etc than 3S. Overall 2nd Impact is my favorite in the series and I feel that 3S is good but is a little overrated.
Nick A007 Because you let him get a full super meter, lol. In New Generation If you let Gill get full meter he WILL resurrect after you K.O. him. There’s no way around it. It’s his only super move in this version. At least in Second Impact and Third Strike you can sort of “trick” him into using his meter on his other super moves so he can’t resurrect. So as far as him gaining life back in this version attack him IMMEDIATELY when he gets up and starts recovering life and it will stop him from gaining too much back. If you’re really good (or lucky) you can beat him without ever m letting him even get full super meter in the first place.
Your parry skill is godlike, i'm really impressed. BUT On the other hand, I'M NOTICING UNTIL NOW that, that Yun0s Stage is almost a mirror of the Street Fighter V Bustling Side Street.
The issue was that Third Strike simply ran out of available storage RAM. It’s why the first two games have better graphics, more backgrounds, and uncompressed music. Third Strike was REALLY bad about the compressed music. If you’re coming from the home versions to play the arcade one you ears are in for a rude awakening.
Better how? Just look at how much more vibrant the colors are, look at the stages, the victory screen, listen to the ost, etc. 3S is definitely a step down in terms of quality in those categories. The soundtrack sounds more "meh" and the colors are washed out, not to mention the stages are much more dull and lifeless in 3S.
I like the overall presentation better in this and 2nd impact. It has more of that arcadey Capcom feel to it. Also has better music imo. Though 3rd Strike has better voices, roster, and much better gameplay imo.
Third Strike Online Edition is Third Strike, but built off the Playstation version I believe. I think that was the version that fixed the problems, like compressed sounds and music, and washed out colors, adds challenges and customization. This version adds all that, plus online playability. It's a shame they don't 'team' them up anymore like Ibuki's group. Glad Skullgirls is doing that though and building their universe with more characters.
I bought the classic collection for ps2 which had 3rd strike. Last week I downloaded 3rd strike online edition for ps3. Theres no possible way I can part with this game.

Ressurection is Gill's gimmick, as a supposed demi-God. In SF2, Bison had his "Psycho Crusher." Evert final boss has a gimmick.

I bought the classic collection for ps2 which had 3rd strike. Last week I downloaded 3rd strike online edition for ps3. Theres no possible way I can part with this game.
whowantstosalsa It's one of the finest if not THE finest fighter that retains hardcore elements WITH balance. Theoretically you can stop chip damage with red parries. Brilliant stuff.

very good, you should have tried to combo the super shoryuken when they were stunned (like jump -> kick -> low kick ->uppercut -> shoruken -> super shoryuken)
