One of my Uncles was killed doing something similar then the big Ford tractor flipped over backwards. He landed on the box scrape blade and the Tractor landed on top of him. He was 71 years old. This happened in 1989. Miss him greatly🙏🏻
That is bullshit man! I have saw several old timers put to use and described using this method to get 2wd farm tractors out of the mud for the last 100 years! Poor mountain farmers have always did what they had to do to get by… nothing new here and nothing dangerous.
I learned at the ripe age of 5 how to get a stuck tractor out. After the first time of burying gramps tractor in mud an getting my ass chewed out, i payed major attention while my dad an uncles got it unstuck. Second time it happened i went an took my grandfathers keys to his truck an pulled it out myself. To this day ill never foget the look on gramps face when he seen me his 5 or 6 year old grandson pull up in his truck with it covered in mud😂 i spent the rest of the day cleaning the tractor and detailing the truck.

Good Job, I wish we had known this method when our family had a small farm. We had 8;acres of mostly unused abandoned land that we readied for a vineyard. The plow grabbed the roots from the brush we, had removed in the finer soil the plow caught and buried the wheels to the axle. Several times. Hand digging a ramp. This seems a better fix.😊
its a fake video, I mean manilla ropes for the first try who does that. Theres a tree behind it so why was he driving the tractor into there and its was a created mud hole because everything else is dry.
For years I been hearing about gators and last hunting season I finally decided to get a pair, the best decision I ever made haven't been in the woods without em on. From working through wet brush, mud, to pricker bushes they help so much and they don't weight nearly as much as wearing heavy muck boots
They look to be WW1 officer gaiters (likely American or Canadian) and you can find reproductions around the internet although they might vary in quality, I’m not too familiar on which reproduction is best so you’re best bet is to look around and compare them

Don’t think I didn’t see that Great War bolo and canteen on your hip. You got moxie Country Tactical, I use my bolo to cut the weeds and it’s on my hip as well. God bless
A few months ago I got my truck stuck in mud. I ended up using some plywood boards and ratchet straps and that really did it. Though, I put them parallel to the ground, along the tires. This method with that tractor is new to me. One caution about my way, though, is to be careful how you place the straps. I got mine wrapped around my brake calipers and I had to cut them off. Also, if your boards break, that's fine. But, again, be careful how you place everything. In addition to the strap, I got small chunks of wood stuck in the calipers. I also bent that plate behind a brake rotor that I had to bend back. But, I got myself out. 👍
Helpful video, sometimes the mud is imposible to spot until is too late, this happened to me before and got stuck for 2 days, it was a pretty big tractor
That is why you see logs on war videos. The best way to get that out was to lay the logs down in front or behind the drive wheels to get above the mud & drive along the logs until you are out. This happened to me on my Massey,Ferguson 30 & 35.
Next to solve the wheeling problem have The tree trunks go in different directions it also helps with crawling through the mud my grandpa has done it a few times
You farmers are the lifeblood of america. Even when i don't support greedy corporate farms, i will always be more than happy to pay more for farmer owned farm food.
if it happens again you might want to consider using a wench attachment or something similar, as in an external attachment that the tractor can pull itself towerd
Man i got our old ford tractor buried in a field once when i was 16, i wish id have thought of that trick back then. We used about 100ft of chains and straps and still got our 4x4 stuck. Eventually i just had to wait on the mud to dry, blocked the rear arms, lifted it up, and blocked under the wheels and got out
My neighbors got stuck on a muddy pass in Costa Rica years ago. They were in a rental Jeep. 4WD wasn’t doing anything so they had one of the locals help. The old fashioned way - a pair of oxen… When the roads are impassable, the locals rely on old, proven, technology - beasts of burden.
a safety roll cage on your tractor will instantly make you braver in gunning your John Deere with extra traction logs attached, No worries ‘bout the front flipping over to crush yer driver. Better still , hold the camera and let someone else drive.
the mad lad did it
😂😂😂 who would think that work
He just remade the unditching gear

2wd tractors have caused me so much grief. 4wd is a must if you want to get work done without the drama.
4wd isn't going to help you when the front end is lifting.
@@Firebat45wouldn’t lift as much if it had 4wd 🤣

When driving a tractor into a mudpit creates content. 😂
Glad I am not the only one that though he backed in into the pit for content
He didn’t cut down those logs. Look at them, they’re not cut. They were probably already on the ground. 😂
Very informative video

Maybe make a 4 spiked rimm add on made out of wood when riding in muddy terrain, it may add some weight and could break a lot tho
Also, try removing mud from the tread blocks and going again first. Thats why you spin because theres no traction when the tread blocks are full
