When you get a new stripe, put a couple dots of super glue on it. Put your rolled up belt inside your gi before placing it in the washer. This minimizes any stripe loss/tangling and now you will have a clean belt. My belt is definitely more soaked in sweat than other parts of my gi after practice. Plus people be using it for grips. I've heard people say "but it doesn't smell".. then halfway through practice when it's moistened up again their belt and their dingy grey stripes clearly stank.
As soon as I get a new stripe, I use an iron to slightly heat up the tape. But I learned to use a layer of parchment paper between the iron and belt so the sticky tape residue doesn’t melt onto the iron. Recently, I (Stephanie) started using garment bags to wash my belt, which keeps it from getting wrapped around everything. But admittedly, I still don’t wash it after every class. I maybe wash it once or twice a week… better than zero?! 🤣
I do the same, I use a layer of parchment paper between the iron and the tape so the sticky residue from the tape doesn’t get stuck to the iron. But since I started using the iron, stripes are stuck like glue

I always take an iron to my stripes (when I get new ones) which secures them very well. I haven't lost a stripe to the washer after ironing it.

Sanabul has that vintage look belt. I bought one cause it really look old rendering justice to the many years I spent in this art.
That’s awesome. That’s why we named our channel Subbed In Style…if we’re getting subbed, we might as well look good doing it!
When I grab a belt grip on someone and it’s like grabbing floss lol
