Installing a new driveway uphill , 12% slope or less

- In this video I abandon the old plan for a driveway and go up and around to lessen the slope. I build the base of the road with recycled crushed concrete. I also install 2 sheds at the house clearing up top, and dig out some shale to widen the lower section of the road.

Absolutely LOVE the closing drone footage and the joy of the dog on the ride home! Great work!
These channels are stealing my sleep time.
I like the random people walking into frame, looking around, then walking away. 😁
Great page. Been watching Camarata's videos and for whatever reason never clicked on yours. Glad I finally did. Cheers from Maine!
Hi Jesse,
Its inspiring to see you doing your thing, please never underestimate how much you inspire those of us who watch your channel from across the globe. UK here, getting made redundant at end of Jan 2021 which is ok, as I've been building my own little landscapping, tree work business on my days off from Heathrow airport doing cargo. Thanks to you and Andrew I'm taking on bigger projects that i would of maybe passed by before.
Keep doing what you do, and thank you
Good job ! You are like Andrew Camarata. I am a big fan of him and you:) from N.B. Canada 🇨🇦
What jolly fun! I knew Willis Jackson who was an artist with a backhoe/front loader. I was never afraid he'd hit me. He told me the way to avoid shoring was a 45 degree slope and multiplied the length by the depth and converted it into passes within a couple of seconds. Never more than 3 off.
Happened on your video by accident. Wow, I was fascinated by what one man can do with a couple of machines. It's obvious you know your shit. I stayed up late just watching you build a road and clear those trees and all that construction work took me back to my childhood in Texas. Great video.
Jessy you are a very hard working young man and doing a great job so keep it up you will be ok,
thank you!
Really enjoyed watching your video. I was impressed with your capabilities doing the excavation and how you planned out each move so no time was wasted. I’ve been thinking about getting a mini and the 35 Deere was one that I looked at. It’s amazing to me to see how much a small machine will do especially with an operator like yourself. I will look forward to watching more of your other videos. Thanks !
Brian
Excellent video and construction project. Good music choices. Only negative was no fading to black between a few scenes. Thought my internet died when I saw a black screen. Seeing how you moved those buildings around I now know how the Pyramids were built. Love the aerial shots.
Keep up the good work!
Love your content and channel!
Nice job Jesse. You save a lot of time if you will ask the delivery driver to do a tailgate spread for you. They can chain the tailgate so that it will only open to about 2-4 inches. Then when the dump they drive forward and the material will spread out for you. You will still have some spreading to do but it does save some time.
Your videos continue to improve and I'm enjoying them more and more. Thank you for taking the time to make them.
YOU DO AWESOME WORK . LUV YOUR VIDEO.
Hello, you live in a very beautiful country ! 😊 and your work is top 👍👌
I think we need more youtubers like you. I really enjoy your videos, good job. Keep it up!
Really enjoy following your journey.
Amazing job, you are like Andrew, never "Can't do ", I'm impressed!
thanks. I come from a family with that attitude. "can't isnt a word" is the motto
Really like your videos. I subscribed and am binge watching them 😊
thanks
Jesse, I watched the video when you created that 'claw' for your excavator. I am pretty sure you were creating it in order to help with pulling stumps; but, in this video, you show that it is an effective tool to use on those hillsides with the soft shale. You were able to harvest a lot of good shale to use on the lower part of the driveway. I also enjoy watching the videos you create when you are building and framing. Keep it up, you do great work.
Aloha Jesse , This was a awesome video , I couldn't stop watching it until the end . The video had a good pace , informative and the camera work was awesome . Great job . Thanks for the ride along . I've been watching my buddy Letsdig 21 down in NC too . He's also doing some fun stuff . I've been doing some fun stuff too but I cannot put togetjer a video for nothing . My respect for you guys has gone up 1 million %.
Nice work! 👍🏾 Thanks for taking us along!
This is really fun to watch and beautiful editing job too. Thanks.
Only thing I might add is make that 16-20 yard gravel truck earn his keep.
6 inches on the gate and a gentle spread. It's smooth and flat.
" gravel dog Lange"
Nice video and very safely done.
Jesse , This may be the best content you put together todate. The outro was fantastic. What a great video. Thanks.
Couple of comments made about A.C. , no shame in that he makes good vids , you make good vids please keep it going.
thanks Joe. appreciate that
Those trailers are neat. Its cool seeing the progress of a single job.
We’ve had a recycled-concrete driveway now for two years and it’s still great fun finding random things mixed in with it😂
great job thanks for the video have fun
Nice work!
They'll have a story where crush concrete came from.
Great job road building.
yea they currently live in the city so its neat for them
Hey man, that’s a lot of work! You make it look easy! Best part of this video is your Chihuahua! Nice touch!
Really good work. Good stable base with the shale rock and crushed concrete. I am a little concerned about where the water is gonna go because I didn't see you put ditches down the sides. If you crowned the road really good you shouldn't have a problem but I can't tell from the video how much crown is in the road. That would be my only negative about your work but I may be wrong about this and just missed seeing the ditches in the video. (I'm not trying to be an ass, and hope I don't sound like one, just making an observation).Other than that you've done a great job and it looks really nice and looks like it will work very well. Always keep heading forward to bigger and better things. 👍
Love your musical picks.
Your beautiful drone footage as well.
It's like channeling one's inner child watching you work that job.
After all, don't all little boys wanna operate the equipment you do as a profession ?
Then there's the fact Men grow older but we never do actually grow up inside.
thanks
Damn, this was a well put together video. Gave me some confidence to put in my road and build out some orchard terraces. Thank you. 👍🏼
You can do alot with a small machine if you get good with it. Now I kind of loose my patience on that machine on bigger projects, all I want to do is bring in a bigger machine...but I used to tackle any job with it when it was all I had
Hope you don't get lose in the rain Forest the world would suffocate🌲🌲🌲 nice work on the rd
Hey Jesse, loved the video, you’re really improving over the last year. I’m glad that you decided to speak more, you do it better than most and it adds a lot to your content. As a dad with a son your age I think its pretty special that you found a friend in A/C with similar interest to share. If you show up with 8 wave runners and 6 excavators I’ll know that you’ve been spending too much time together. LOL Best wishes.
Using a box blade with your tractor and having your dump truck driver tailgate the loads would make your life so much easier and efficient. Great video bud.
yea they did tailgate sometimes, but said I wasnt allowed to get it on camera because they are not technically allowed to do it per company rules. I probably will get a box blade, I have been using the skidsteer more often now, so its kind of on the back burner. thanks
@@jmuller86 Oh. That makes sense. Didn't realize they had rules of being filmed tailgating. Thanks for the reply.
Jesse, just found this channel, great video and like Andrews channel i enjoy the commentary at the end of the video so we can see how the projects turned out. And us dog lovers always like to see them come along for the ride. Keep up the great content it takes a lot of work to produce videos like this, thanks for sharing your experience.
Great video, great operator. We use crushed concrete a lot here at the plant I work at. I’m about to install a 2000’ driveway and will probably use it for base. It does work great. One draw back it has is in dry weather when it gets windy. It throws off an incredible amount of dust, even a couple years after being down. Not a huge deal if you cap it.
Nice work you really do a lot of work with all your equipment.
Well done Jesse. Great filming.
Fantastic, another one for the books keep it up Jesse
thanks
Really enjoyed music scenery and great job
Great work I enjoy your videos
good video. i like seeing the crushed gravel used.
You went from 10k to 11k subs while I was watching your truck clutch video. Good for you!
Great job Jesse! love your pictures and the ending of your dogie
thanks !
you do alot with that small machine - good work
thanks
Hey new subscriber here! Awesome video! Land clearing transformation is awesome to see! Thats a nice little nook of property you worked on! Sweet drone footage too, beautiful!
There's so much to like in this video, Jesse! Beautiful photography at the end and the ride home was hilarious. I really like your on-screen notations - it's fascinating about the cement being from the Tappan Zee bridge. Talk about history! Plus you found some real pay dirt (stone) on the property that was very useful and those two gals helping were really hard workers, too. Nice job.
Dale Premo
Those two women own the property.
yea they dont mind getting their hands dirty at all.
SOME NICE HELPERS SETTING THOSE SHEDS. GREAT JOB WITH THE DRIVEWAY.
nice job on this vid jesse makes a dad proud
thanks dad
Great stuff. 10/10.
Great video mate one of the best I've ever seen.
Yes another great video Jesse, nice work.
ah another magical place with no rocks or house sized boulders. damn glaciers
You do nice work! I would like to see more of this
Nicely done, the area is beautiful this time of year
thanks
Good work with your machine ! Also a great video with good content ..
thanks
You do a great job, and I enjoy your video. I have used crushed concrete in the past. It is inexpensive, and packs down really well. It does however leach chemicals into runoff and changes the ph of the adjacent soil. That is why I quit using it. Don't know if that makes any difference where you are building. Thanks for the vids.
Great content and awesome job editing!
Nothing wrong with using the concrete like that good idea, and thanks for the video nice work you all over there move very fast ha ha. peace
yea the gravel yard recommended it. it was $4 a ton
Nicely done ✅
Sure is beautiful country out there.
Nice job ol' boy.
Stewards of the land.
Great video !! Thanks for the 10x speed !!
thanks
Found you from A Cs page. You have a new fan from Montana
Great job jesse!
I'm binge watching all ur vids Jesse my man I swear u and Andrew could be long lost brothers u have similar styles to your videos but with your unique spin/touches on them still waiting on a chainsaw radio install video 😉 😎
without the high speed action and great content i would have moved on! great job watched until the end!
Dude I came across this video by mistake i thought it was somebody else that I love watching but dude you just got a other fan subscriber you are a bad ass as well good video
Cool video. Must be nice to knock over trees so easily. Here in Arizona the roots go down deeper than the trees are tall.
After watching countless hours of your terrific work, I do not recall you ever mentioning what the pooch's name is. Seems her trust factor in you is like .....oh, IDK, INFINITE!
pearl is my dog. if you watch the first adirondack video, I introduce my 3 dogs
@@jmuller86 Hahaha! Thanks for your time. I actually wound up watching that one after 2- 3 more. Pearl, Ralph and Zoe. PS: You are one fabulous producer of these videos. Like the sequences at the end of the day when you take viewer up to see the horizon. Leave aside your remarkable skill set. I was telling my wife last night about yours: construction, engineering, mechanic, electrician and most important of all Dad to your son. I am sure he, too, will remember all your times together decades down his road. Again, thanks, and keep up your great work.
Keep up the good work!
thanks
You got it done, that's a lot of work to do with a little 35, that's an easy driveway, some of the places around here now driveways are 4 wheel drive needed when they are paved, nasty, easy building lots are long gone.
Yeah, I bet the pieces of rebar are great for car tires. I would think the recycler would have magnets that clean that out.
Superior soundtrack, Jesse. And often nicely synced to the machine's movement. And pleasant enough that I do wonder what the audio tracks were! Natural sound is suitable when the video runs at 1x, but the music helps at the higher speeds, and with drone video.
Nice work
There are probably lots of little boys who would be mesmerized by this video!
And bigger boys :-)
Looks good
Excellent job Jesse . What beautiful country you have there . Love all of those trees . Some great drone shots . Nice camera shots of your doggie . Love it . Who were the 2 ladies that were helping you with the sheds ?
..nice plan, lookin' good...
thanks
What a fun job!!!
Yea! great job Jesse!
This neat ,I like your videos. love your dog too.don't you dare let that baby fall out the window
Love the Western Star!
15:15 ... I would have bet 15 bucks that truck is stuck in that mud but man, it pulled right out. Besides I find it so cool that you used the recycled concrete from the Tappan Zee Bridge. Now when people pull up to the lot and later to the house, the owner can ask them ....... How was your drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge? Great conversation starter and what a nice touch having a driveway made from the material of such a great (former) historic monument of highway construction.
Silent Epsilon or they ask the home owner why all there tires are flat?! Could be from the rebar and other assorted metals left in this mixture to save a few bucks. No thank you!
@@deanpowder82 Exactly! The last thing I want mixed in my road surface is sharp objects. Cheap bastards.
I like that pick attachment you use to dig out the rip rap, I gotta try that on ice. :)
Great job
thanks
Got love horsey people, not frightened of getting stuck in
Nice, thank you 👏👏👍🇬🇧
Love that Lil' dog
Really nice job.Great solution and work around.
Hey you didn't see Jimmy Hoffa did ya?
Beautiful country you work in and you can tell you really enjoy what you are doing. It shows.
Happy Motoring.
carver allways got good . stuff . u . should use a road fabric will save u a lot more on materials and will hold strong
Bom trabalho, continue com os vídeos, são muito interessantes e completos, saudações do Brasil meu amigo.
Great video ! Cute Pup !
thanks august. you are all over the comment section with some great feedback, and thanks for sticking up for me !
@@jmuller86, No problem.
Dig the road down.. add the over burden too the bottom too stretch out the hill and lower the slope... quick easy effective
very nice
A recycled bridge to build a road , nice work Jesse.
Was just curious as to how long this project had taken you to complete? How many days? Nice video.
Looks like you were wearing a pair of the Stihl chainsaw safety shorts; I have the same ones! :-)
