Thanks a lot for the heated gear tip. I just picked up a 24 yesterday. Installing the heated gear plug was a little time consuming on my Low Rider ST. For those that don't use heated gear its awesome. With a mesh jacket and heated gear I never get cold.
you forgot; the gear selection now shows up when you are stopped. it used to be with the clutch disengaged it didn't until you released the clutch. If you look on the trans side cover there is a plastic cover just on top that is what that cover is.
Watching a bunch of Road Glide videos (thinking about upgrading) and have seen a bunch of yours. Just watched this one and saw your comment about Orlando Harley. Didn't realize you were local. Another hidden feature H-D doesn’t mention in the manual is the ability to activate the cooling system fans on-demand. This is accomplished with the engine not running and roll to full throttle for a few seconds. So if riders are in stop and go traffic, they can stop the engine momentarily and activate the cooling system fans constant-on and help keep the heads cooler.
Couple little hacks not mentioned. 1. Adding a $10 USB Bluetooth mic from Amazon and adding it in the device manager will give you wireless Apple Car Play every time you start your bike. 2. If you add the garage door opener, two quick pulls on the left side controls trigger will transmit the opener without having to go through the menu every time.

If you or the dealership you’re getting a bike from don’t know how to put the bike in transport mode, you can either: put the keys in the saddlebags to keep it from going off or disconnect the battery.

Ok so after a few weeks with the bike I think what he's talking about has to be the play/pause button. This only works with playlist/streaming, not if you're listening to FM radio though.
You should talk more about the rear suspension options. Dealers do not pre set your bike suspension to your size. Most bikes go out with softest settings and can bottom out. Even a seasoned tech does not usually set suspension. They set mine at max and the Unloaded rear, push down into my brand new exhaust so I had to re set all and find the happy spot. Harley adjustment chart is way off of what is really needed.

Nothing simple about adjusting that rear suspension. “Hang on babe… lemme take this bag off, hand me that wrench…”. Big step forward in a lot of things, just a big missed opportunity on that.
I know you're probably well past the break-in period now, but running at a constant speed for long periods of time during the break-in period can result in the cylinder walls becoming too slick and smooth for the piston rings to seat fully. The unspoken part of the manual regarding break-in is that you need to put the engine through several heat/cool cycles by loading up the engine with moderate/heavy acceleration (heat cycle) followed by immediately letting off the throttle and letting it engine brake (cool cycle) you back to your cruising speed. Loading the engine puts pressure on the piston rings and pushes them outwards into the cylinder walls, while engine braking essentially does the same thing except from the other side. The reason this is important is because the better your piston rings are seated, the less "blow-by" you'll have. Blow-by is exhaust gasses escaping past the cylinder walls (vs being exhausted through the valves), and the more blow-by you have, the less power and fuel economy you'll have, which also in turn decreases engine life. Plus, another reason for not using cruise control during the first 500 miles is that you want all of the engine components to experience a wide variety of driving conditions while they're all bedding/seating. So, one of the best things you can do for a brand new engine is to ride/drive it hard for the first 500 miles. No need to redline it, but repeated heavy acceleration such as WOT in 6th gear from 2500 to 4500 rpm immediately followed by engine braking/no throttle from 4500 back down to 2500 rpm within the first 500 miles is optimal. Technically if you rinse and repeat this procedure a few dozen times, then you're probably good to consider break-in complete, but personally I'm super anal and almost all of my first 500 miles are comprised of this.
Be cool if they can make it so when you get home late after a good time and park the bike then the next day you turn it on and it’s not level 10 loud static😂🍻
do you think if coming from a 21 ultra with stage 2 worth getting the new 24 road glide and build it up little by little. was going to go today adn see what they offer. i do still owe 25 on my bike so i know going ot new ill be in the 32-30 range.
Does the 1 inch of travel make a big difference? I have a 2019 Road Glide Ultra that I love (and it's paid off) So, I'm in a battle with myself. I love the hill-breaking feature, as I have a small amount of arthritis in my hands, and that would be a GOD send to have help on hills (I live in S.C near Augusta Georiga), and they have a LOT of hills, so this would be a big help. I love the screen, it's bigger and easier to see, especially for long-distance traveling. The seats and lack of a tour pack are a turn-off, though I could add the tour pack and get another seat, which would affect the overall pricing with my paid-off trade-in. Also, my understanding is the bike is lighter than previous models, but by adding back in the tour pack, you're just adding back in the weight. Question: How is gas mileage. Is there an improvement? Also, how is the sound system? Is there an improvement? Or would upgrading to a step-up sound system be the best option. As a military guy, I've lost some hearing, and while my 2019 has a good sound system, more sound would always be great. So, did they improve the sound system on the new 2024 Road Glide? The one thing that bothers me is the damn "pegs" they have for the passenger. If you are going to do any type of long travel, floorboards are the best option, so why those are not standard is baffling to me. NOTE: I love riding from S.C to Florida, and that's about a 9-hour trip depending on how often I take a break (usually when filling up) So, the question I guess I have to ask is: Is the trade-in worth it?
Gas mileage: After 2 weeks of 90% highway riding, I'm getting over 50 MPG. Even during the 500 mile break-in period with countless wide-open-throttles (to seat the piston rings better), I was still getting over 45 MPG. Sound system: Stock sound system is OK, but not great. If you've lost some hearing, you'll definitely want to upgrade the sound system which will run you around $1k installed depending on your location/dealer. Based on the power ratings, the Rockford Fosgate upgrade that Harley offers looks like it'll add quite a bit of volume over the stock system. If you find that upgrading the front 2 still isn't enough, the Rockford Fosgate amp supports 2 additional speakers which you can add to your saddle bag (would have to buy new lids with the speaker cut-outs). Is the trade-in worth it? Well, I came from a 2016 Street Glide Special that I was quite happy with, and in my opinion, yes, it was worth it for me. The 24 RG just feels like "home" to me, something my 16 SG was missing. It'll take something earth shatteringly revolutionary to convince me to trade up again. My $0.02 though, go test ride one. I didn't even want a RG, but then one of the sales guys convinced me to give it a try, and I reluctantly agreed and said "sure, but I'm not buying it, just so there aren't any misunderstandings." Welp, jokes on me because when I got back from my test ride I bought it. Like I said though, I'd recommend a test ride at a minimum, and just keep in mind you're like me and going to spend a grand to upgrade the stereo, but maybe you could talk them into upgrading it at no charge as part of the deal. Either way, best of luck and ride safe, brother!
Sadly for me, it won't make a difference. Somebody pulled out in front of me and totaled my bike. I have several months of rehab to go through in order to just be able to walk again.
I was surprised how quickly my battery drained with the bike sitting in my garage. It was only a few days and I went to start it and it was dead. Looks like I’ll need a tender on it all the time. Or, something is drawing on the battery all the time.
If the battery was at full charge before parking it, I'd definitely take it to the dealership for warranty inspection/service. Although I've only had my 24 RG for a couple weeks, it did sit unattended in my garage for several days (against my will) and it fired up no problem. Well, that's a lie, I grabbed the wrong key fob (for my truck) once and thought the battery died. I hooked up a charger only to see it had full charge which is when I realized I'm an idiot.
I noticed that you have a Ruroc helmet. Do you have the shockwave system in it? (The Bluetooth headset that ruroc sells) and if so do you know if that headset will connect and make apple car play usable in the bike?
Yes it has the Bluetooth integrated but I ripped it out and replaced it with a better system which is the Cardo. I left the link to Cardo in the description up above.
My 2023 fast johnnie had hill assist but it disengaged if I put it in neutral. I recently traded for 2023 cvo and noticed today that hill assist stays engaged when I put it in neutral.
Wait… your suggesting we buy from that dealer if we’re shopping for a bike BUT THEN you say that dealer doesn’t even know how to get a bike in transport mode? Ya. I’ll skip that dealer.
So how does the mute work bc I just bought a 2024 Saturday and the radio was working on the test ride. I think the dealer may have muted it and have no sound now can you make a video on the mute?
I think he is using the play/pause button (in middle on right handlebar) in the video which only would work if you're using Bluetooth. Try using the up volume or change stations. May have to turn off of Bluetooth if they had it connected to their phone.
I had the same issue. Upon delivery of my bike the radio/stereo no longer worked. Dealer came back and picked up my bike (too much winter here to ride), apparently a wire came off the amplifier and there was no sound coming through. Dealer technician contacted corporate to report the issue to determine if there was something further to be done. Apparently, on top of this there was a second update to the OS that needs to be performed. The glory of buying a new model!
"They're Secrets Everywhere" means "They are secrets everywhere" Does that sound right to you? "There're Secrets Everywhere" means there are secrets everywhere. "There's Secrets Everywhere" actually sounds best, grammatically anyway.
Partially true. Google has a list of "minimum safety requirements" that a vehicle must meet before they'll grant a license for the manufacturer to add Android Auto support. Somehow Indian has met Google's vehicle safety requirements and have been granted approval for Android Auto, but Harley and virtually every other motorcycle manufacturer has not made Google's cut. I don't know which safety requirements aren't being met or what Harley would need to change about their bikes to gain Google's approval, but still.
Oh boy !!!!...I'm glad a kept my older Harley's....All this new electronic crap is gonna be a huge money grab for the dealers . Face it some of us older Harley guys can still wrench most things BUT now you better take your bank book for all this crap you don't even know where it starts and stops... Jezzzzzz...I wonder how HUGE the shop manual is gonna be...
I had 21 streetglide special, the infotainment center in my opinion is a huge distraction. I sold it and bought a FXLRST with no radio Lexin G16 and Simpson modular to hear music from iPhone.
A big secret is how bad the Skyline operating system is. The 121cu engine is going to make a lot of folks angry with the variable valves and computer control problems. A buddy calls the 2024 bikes Iphones on wheels..
That's what it sounds like. It may still activate if you were to put the bike into neutral at a stop light, but why would you unless absolutely necessary? I can't tell you how many times I've nearly been rear ended because the chump in the car coming up behind me doesn't realize that I'm already stopped at the intersection.
Volume down all the way is the same as mute. Cheap looking plastics. The saddlebags arent as sturdy as previous generations either. They need to sell new bikes so im sure they are grateful for your purchase. Victory way back when had inverted forks but Harley still dont want that. Hydraulic clutch is much less low maintenance. The new horn is tacky also. Thanks for the video
It keeps the security system from going off. Otherwise the bike will be blinking the whole time you’re trailering it and the battery will be dead by the time you get to your destination. You could also just leave the keys in the saddlebag to keep the security system from going off.
I don’t know if you live like 500 miles away from that Harley dealer. Maybe it would’ve drained your battery, but that battery was dead when I left the fucking shop it was not on a tinder and people were playing with them all the buttons and it had a dead battery just maybe enough to start the bike because the security is not draining the battery that fast. I had the same thing with my bike sitting on the floor, playing with the radio, trying to figure it out and killed the battery and sales people neglected to put it on a tender.
These now blow the air cooled comparable Indian out of the water and come close to the challenger. The challenger is the only Indian that has this beat and that gap is now small if there is any at all.
The Indian are beautiful but the challenger is riddled with electric gremlins, starts up sometimes and the ECU has thrown a tantrum and sets cylinder 1 to misfire. Turn it off for 10 mins and it resets itself, not great when you're out on your with a bunch of people amd hold them up.
After watching this video I really don't want the new Road glide as much as I used to it to much electrical B.S. I want simple and reliable not a degree in rocket science to ride my bike
Good news is you can still just fire it up and ride and not even mess with any of the electronics if you don't want to... except tow mode I guess? I'll just add that I almost didn't buy the 24 RG because of the screen. Not that it isn't high quality, but I'm old school and just prefer analog gauges. I will say though that it didn't take long for me to come around. Although an old school analog dash would still look sexier (IMO), I've actually come to appreciate everything the new dash/electronics/infotainment system offer. So, just my $0.02, the value offered by the modern electronics offsets any lost sex appeal.

Bought a new 2024 Street Glide. Was told by the sales rep not to use the cruise control during break in miles. Any reason for this?
Because during break in they don’t want it to run at the same constant speed for long periods of time.
I know you're probably well past the break-in period now, but running at a constant speed for long periods of time during the break-in period can result in the cylinder walls becoming too slick and smooth for the piston rings to seat fully.
So where’s the mute button?
hi, can you show or tell how to zomm in and out into the Navigation screen? there are buttons or only pinching?
Only pinching. And from what I have seen, once you hit "re-center" it goes back to default. Not sure if you can get around that. I hate the new nav.
do you think if coming from a 21 ultra with stage 2 worth getting the new 24 road glide and build it up little by little. was going to go today adn see what they offer. i do still owe 25 on my bike so i know going ot new ill be in the 32-30 range.
Does the 1 inch of travel make a big difference?
I have a 2019 Road Glide Ultra that I love (and it's paid off)
So, I'm in a battle with myself. I love the hill-breaking feature, as I have a small amount of arthritis in my hands, and that would be a GOD send to
have help on hills (I live in S.C near Augusta Georiga), and they have a LOT of hills, so this would be a big help.
NOTE: I love riding from S.C to Florida, and that's about a 9-hour trip depending on how often I take a break (usually when filling up)
So, the question I guess I have to ask is: Is the trade-in worth it?
Thank you for the info.
If u hold the throttle all the way back and hold. the fan will kick on as well. To shut it off do the same
The dealer should know about "transport mode" - no excuses. That illustrates the lack of training/detail within the dealership.
New bikes are like new trucks. Loaded with tons of crap I don't need.
Can't you just use the adjustable brake handle as a clutch handle?
Do you know if CVO ST has heated gear harness as well.
No heated grips but I'm 90% sure it has the connections
So that’s really not anything different maybe different buttons but they all do the same thing. We had transport mode for a long time.
My 2023 fast johnnie had hill assist but it disengaged if I put it in neutral. I recently traded for 2023 cvo and noticed today that hill assist stays engaged when I put it in neutral.
😂]
On my 24 the mute only pauses when using media source. On radio (fm) it doesn't mute.
where is the mute button on the 2024 road glide? you never actually said where it is and the only way i see is to turn volume all the way down
How does the PTT work?
Great Video / even though I’m on an Indian challenger I still subscribed. Great content. Thanks brother keep the rubber side down.
Thanks man. Welcome to the channel
"They're Secrets Everywhere" means "They are secrets everywhere"
Does that sound right to you?
"There're Secrets Everywhere" means there are secrets everywhere.
"There's Secrets Everywhere" actually sounds best, grammatically anyway.
No excuse. You have every right to blame them. They should know it.
Love the new screen sweet
I just got the street glide. There is no android auto 😢. Harley Davidson won't support it.
Other way around... Android auto no longer supports motorcycle installations, not from ANY brand.
Where did you get them saddlebag guards at?
Straight from Harley
Great tips!! Love the vids brotha
Thanks man
Oh boy !!!!...I'm glad a kept my older Harley's....All this new electronic crap is gonna be a huge money grab for the dealers . Face it some of us older Harley guys can still wrench most things BUT now you better take your bank book for all this crap you don't even know where it starts and stops... Jezzzzzz...I wonder how HUGE the shop manual is gonna be...
Power costs money
does your stereo suck too?
how to turn on the accessory mode is new
I had 21 streetglide special, the infotainment center in my opinion is a huge distraction.
Cager here 👋 Do motorcyclists ever refer to themselves as ’cagers’? Like when they drive a car?
As a former long haul trucker, I tend to refer to cagers as "4 wheelers." E.g., 18 wheelers, 4 wheelers, 2 wheelers, etc.
So you have to keep the clutch held to hill hold to engage?
That's what it sounds like. It may still activate if you were to put the bike into neutral at a stop light, but why would you unless absolutely necessary? I can't tell you how many times I've nearly been rear ended because the chump in the car coming up behind me doesn't realize that I'm already stopped at the intersection.
Shifting to neutral disengages the hill hold assist. I've already tested it
Harley is coming out with a switch that mounts down by the jiffy stand, requires an update to be downloaded. After that it will hill hold in neutral.
You have to remove the seat to plug in heated gear ???
Just user warning, the stock speakers are garbage 😂. Rides amazing though.
Probably the only 2 garbage things about it; stock speakers and stock windshield.
If you already have the Sena 50s you do not need to get the cardo. The system just wants a headset with a mic.
But does it feel like it's made of plastic? I hate plastic 😂
Transport mode? What the heck is that?
It keeps the security system from going off. Otherwise the bike will be blinking the whole time you’re trailering it and the battery will be dead by the time you get to your destination. You could also just leave the keys in the saddlebag to keep the security system from going off.
I left my fob in my saddle bags trailered it from Florida to Indiana and it was dead. Then I read about transport mode… next time I’ll do that.
Where's the mute button?
No comment on coil???
The apple car play having to be used with Cardo is the dumbest shit ever. Harley messed up there
It can be any bluetooth headset, doesn't have to be a Cardo.I even used a Shokz headset and it worked.
The more you make videos of these Harley’s, the more you’ve sold me on the Indian touring bikes.
Can we talk about the guns? I like guns!
What about when the bike is tipped…
Do you even know the difference between they’re there & their ?
Obviously you don’t either, because neither one is correct.
Why would you have a transport mode? Sounds dumb.
