Chainsaw hard to start & dies in idle - fixed with simple carburetor adjustment

  • In my previous episode “dead oak, site cleared” my small chainsaw was acting up real bad and would not start and then kept dying when idling unless you squeezed the throttle hard. I figured the issue was with the air/fuel mixture in idle so I decided to adjust the Low adjustment screw on the carburetor. This worked along with adjusting the throttle. Thanks for watching my adventures. Check out this and other play lists to see all the adventures.

When a small engine is flooded, pull it over once or twice with the spark plug out helps also

Ohh hell definitely not! She does run better just used her earlier today but, I need to finish tuning her a bit more I think. Definitely better than before, she starts and idles now.

    Your feeling shared...
I preciate what you did, but I'm sure that the terrible status of your chainsaw is still so on the next day.
Someone here said "hate" for the class of machine. I agree with him. These have made us hard.
I think the problem is by its original carburator (with trademark "YAMA" and "China" printed on it). I'm waiting for parts/accessories for carburator to solve the problem.
    Regards...

@@bachduong534 yes indeed - I am planing to replace the carb - as you pointed out with this specific saw the adjustment alone is a temporary fix. The problem seems to be the carb or one of the problems. I plan on replacing soon and making a video of it. Thank you for watching!

@@topcat7365 I adjusted the screws T, L and H of the carb so carefully (and skillfully?) that mine run smoothly in idle mode and at all levels of the power trigger, even getting "one pull one run" in dozens of successive pulls. But the problem is still so on the next day. At least the machine trains me more patience and experience. Good luck for all of us...
Ah, I'm also impressed by some sound of flowing (spring/river?) water in your video. Nature is great...

@@topcat7365 The problem is completely solved by replacing the diaphragm controling the needle in the carburator. My chainsaw operates smoothly, is "one pull one run" and good idle.

@@wakeenr6282 I agree, the 435 is not a good saw in my opinion due to reliability. Cuts great when it runs but getting there is a challenge. ✌️
