Got this small radio off of the flea market for cheap. It was kinda dusty but upon testing it home it worked just fine ^_^. There wasn't much needed to be done to it, being relatively new (late 80s) it's caps were still okay. I did replace them, just for fun and for future proofing. Also for fun, since the FM/AM IF IC allowed it, I've added a tuning indicating LED which I've glued to the scale, it is pretty unobtrusive.
The reception is excellent on all bands, as expected from a pretty modern radio. It also has 4 FM presets, the classical varicap way of doing it.
The sound quality from its tiny 10 cm Sanyo speaker is pretty good, but still incomparable to the good old 60s-70s Grundig made oval speakers. Eh, it was the 80s, the era of cutting costs, and from there on it only went downhill for ANY European manufacturer... sadly.
Still, this is a radio that maintains a hint of Grundig's former glory, overall a good performer, but built up to a price point.
