The British named Palestine. It was an Ottoman territory before the the British called it British Palestine. The first Palestine was simply a new name for Israel imposed by Rome. The British named Palestine. It was an Ottoman territory before the the British called it British Palestine.
The first Palestine was simply a new name for Israel imposed by Rome. It was used to reference the Holy Land, Israel.
It was not a nation or country of self governing entity.
Indigenous Jews and Samaritans still lived there and were called Palestinians under the British until Israeli independence.
The Arab Muslims separated themselves and held themselves above the other ethnic groups living in 'Palestine'. The Arab nations and Muslim leaders wanted the ancestral land of Israel for themselves. They refused a single state and refused a separate state of Palestine. Instead, in 1948 they launched a 'war of annihilation' against Israel.
This was a period of neo nazism among Arab communities.
