Love your style! Great, informative vids! Have you played around with kveik much yet? You’re in the right spot for it😂 I’m in sunny CQ myself. It’s handy when the fermentation fridge is busy.
Hey mate, I am yet to try a kveik strain. I think I will have to give one a try as we get to the warmer months. Where do you get yours from? Do you recommend any particular strains for a lager?
@@jaysbeerchannel5873 Try the Lutra from Omega @30C for a clean lager-like, finish but you may need to add finings to clear it up. I’m yet to try the skare strain, but word is it’s the best for clean, neutral lagers. I like Voss for ales… but leave any dry hopping for cold crash as it strips out aromas (I reckon).
Excellent video as always. Not sure I knew about their Vintage Ale until watching Little John's recent video "Coopers Vintage Taster - 2022 and 2019." It’s cool they have a recipe pack for it. Looking forward to the tasting! Also, a good honest review and advice on the Beermakers Bitter kit. Cheers!
Cheers Skid. I really like the commercial and home-brew version of the vintage ale. I think Coopers do a really good job replicating it for the home brewer. Thanks for the comment about the Beermakers review. Have a good one.
Mate, your in north Queensland yes? I say that cause your always wearing a singlet and it always looks hot! 🤣 my guess is Townsville, anyway cheers mate from down south in Sydney. I am going to get some vintage ale soon I hope, how do you think it compares to 2021?
You are correct on both counts haha! I think this year's commercial version vintage has a softer mouthfeel and more subtle melon fruit flavours and aromas. Last year's version was enjoyable but I felt had a bit more dank flavour.
@@jaysbeerchannel5873 I managed to get a six pack last week and you are right, it's got a soft melon vibe going for sure followed by some pretty intense bitterness. I liked last year's vintage ale fresh, I thought the fruitiness from Eclipse I believe from memory worked very well as a young beer. It will be interesting to see how this year's ages
All ways a great video Jay thanks mate
Thanks mate. Appreciate the feedback.

Cheers mate. The fermenting box smells pretty darn good. It's dry hopping day today too.

Thanks mate. I apologise for not being on here for a while. I will have a new video posted this week of an extract clone.

I love wheat
Annoyingly coopers aren't carrying this on the uk site.
That is a shame. You may be able to still make up the kit with the ingredients list though.
