you can expect your team to lose but its a different story if they just arent trying, if they at least showed some heart and played for the shirt then the loss would have been just based on the injuries but it looked like they gave up before the game started.

I don't watch enough football to know the inconsistencies. In this incident even though Hojlund is "watching the ball" he jumps into the goalkeeper which is a foul every time. If he had jumped straight up and the goalkeeper contacted him I think it would have right to call it harsh.

I would imagine that behind the scenes he was giving off the right vibes and on the pitch it was obvious they were improving (perhaps slowly at times) and gave him a chance. i think (hope) the difference is that now united have owners who will try to do things the right way, ie. not overpay for average talent and give them ludicrous contracts, not dismantle the scouting system, not let the training facilities fall behind the rest of the league, not fail to invest in the youth programs properly, not push the infrastructure in a certain direction thinking that a european superleague would be the way to go, et cetera - i sincerely hope united would never pay 80m for another antony or buy a casemiro on the way down (madrid weren't unaware of that in letting him go) or let a manager run riot with the chequebook - but perhaps a new start needs exactly that: a new manager to build from the ground up

The result didn't surprise me, when I saw the lineup, we had a central defence made up from a midfielder and a aged centerback who has just come back from injury, Then you have central midfielders mount who has just come back from injury partnered with another aged midfielder who has just come back from injury, and not to mention a striker who is not scoring and a keeper that makes a lot of mistakes,I think injuries are the main problem at Man Utd,I feel sorry for Ten Hag, if that was the strongest side he could put out.
